Are we sure dan snyder hasn't called him? He could be our only competition. Ha ha I joke, I joke two times.

Shuold he resign, would this make our team better than it was last year? If not, then it probably should not be our #1 focus sir john. You've got him in the bush...now go get us a D line in the bag.

Elway referred to baraq as baroque also...he's an athlete from stanford, what more can you ask of the guy?

Sorry dude, I thought you were cool once, but ANYONE who stops supporting a team just because they don't like the coach is a pussy. (not to mention starts a thread about it, and then consequently upon his return GLOATS about the fact that he predicted where the ex coach would end up like a total douche)

Ive decided that i won't support the Broncos no more until McD is gone, This guy maybe the worst coach in NFL History. Thanks For the laughs and good times -Punisher

Ok here's how i see it, The team goes 3-13 McD gets Fire and will have a Top 5 Pick next season with a new coach. That sounds about right, then i could be happy again, no more cutting myself every time i see Tim Tebow wearing a broncos jersey.

You might want to seriously seek professional help, because Timmy's gonna be in a broncos jersey for a WHILE.

Excellent. Champ likely means no wasted draft pick on a CB early.

Not really because CHamp wants to do what Woodson did and switch to FS. Also I think Champ would be deadly under the new rules at FS. Since you can't really clean people out with a head hunter shot ala dennis smith anymore you might as well put a nimble bailey who tackles low there. He has the speed to get deep down the middle and could go 1 on 1 with any player a FS has to guard. Even TE and RB. Also hes a pretty darn good tackler.

Broncos could play Peterson and Bailey for a yr at CB, then switch Bailey to FS if Cox works out.

I'd reup Champ, and try to sign Asomugha instead of drafting Peterson. Asomugha is worth taking a chance on, but like everything else it depends on a new CBA. There is no FA at all right now, no rookie cap, no trades, no nothing except the draft.

Funny that you bold that NOW, because in the two quotes listed you were singing quite the opposite tune. And it's kind of hard NOT to "keep an eye" on you when you start threads like a little drama queen.

Don't worry, I've already seen you for what you are. It's unfortunate too, cause I always thought you were kind of funny. Some people just don't have the testicular fortitude necessary to stay with a team, and you've branded yourself with a scarlet letter.

All you can do now is forever be known as a weak, part time, bandwagon jumping clown.

Good luck with that.

If we can't keep him around long enough to do that (I'm guessing in the next three years), then I hope he gets a shot to contribute on an immediate contender. They have Cox dead to rights..
he is gonna be working out... In the State Pen.

Sign Champ... then trade our #2 pick to Dallas for their
#10 pick and their second round pick... and one of their RB's.
Jones covets Peterson.

We'd still get a good D-lineman with the #10 pick...
and then we'd have four (count 'em -4) more good picks.
3 second rounders and our high #2 in the 3rd round.

I'd love to have him back, even if we drafted Peterson. Would love to seem him actually start getting some plays in at the Safety position this coming year, so that when he does make the perm move to safety the next year or year after, he's already got some live game reps there.

Depends on what kind of offers Asomugha will get. Will he get Asante Samuel kind of money? You tell me, because I don't know. Asomugha has a good reputation I guess, but he doesn't have much in the way of stats.

I hear people talk about him like he's the best, but the stats don't back it up. So I'm wondering if there's gonna be a bidding war for his services. Assuming there's FA, of course.

BTW, I see there was a measly 2-hour bargaining session btwn the owners/union yesterday. Doesn't sound like the two sides are anywhere close to an agreement.

Nambdi is a stud. His stats aren't great because he rarely gets thrown at. I'd take him over Samuels any day. He'll get huge dollars whenever there finally is a free agency. Dude can tackle, cover and is all class off the field, he'll be the top free agent.

Is this a joke? You can't judge a CB on stats. Nnamdi gets thrown at like 20 times a season. That's the only stat that matters for a CB.

OK, OK, jeez. If you say so, that's fine with me. I look at his stats over his 8 year career 2003-2010 and I see:

11 INT's
2 sacks
1 TD
2 FF's
62 Passes Defensed
271 solo tackles
2 1st Team AP All-Pro selections (2008 and 2010 which is pretty studly, actually)

Champ Bailey 2003-2010:
32 INT's
100 Passes Defensed
5 FF's
479 solo tackles
2 sacks
3 TD's

Asomugha is pretty darn good, being 1st team AP All-Pro in 2008 and 2010 indicates that, despite having poor stats.

Well, I'm kind of running out of ammunition here, but the point I was trying to make was it's better to go after Asomugha in FA (if there is a FA), then go after the draftee Peterson with the #2 pick.

Then let the Nnamdi sweepstakes begin. I'm saying the Broncos should be in the Asomugha sweepstakes rather than draft Peterson at #2. It's better to put the big money into a proven veteran.

Mangold isn't a free agent. Ryan Kalil is. If we brought in a FA center, he would be the guy to get. If we can't sign Kalil, I support sticking with Walton. I do like the idea of signing Brandon Mebane though. Of the top 4 free agent DTs, I hope we can snag one. Ngata, Soliai, Mebane, and Cofield.

I don't think we are going to be active in free agency. Maybe the dawn of a new day in Denver. Try to follow the Pittsburgh and Green Bay model of keeping your own free agents and developing from within.

Plus, I just don't see the cash flow to do it with 2nd overall pick, Champ's contract, paying three coaches, and the possibility of re-uping Harris.

We might sign some scrubs, but nothing major. Not going to happen.

bronco0608
02-06-2011, 05:25 PM
I guess free agency works like this:

You work in an office, been slaving away for three years, company sort of sucks, but you think you can turn it around. You are making 35,000 a years and then all of a sudden they bring Bob from company x to work the same position as you, but pays him 110,000 a year. Bitter? Angry?

Then Bob comes in as this cocky sob, doing things they way he likes to do them, and nobody says anything to him. He doesn't go out of his way to make friends, and then, all of a sudden, the work atmosphere is terrible.

Football is a team sport. When you bring in rooks, they have to earn their way. Thats how the guys accept him. But when you bring the big dog from across town who doesn't have to earn his respect from anyone in the lockerroom and PLUS he is making tons more than you are, to me, it just doesn't work.

Thats why the Washington and Dallas model of the past decade doesn't work. But nothing, as always, is absolute. Not saying it can't happen, but you know.

bronco0608
02-06-2011, 05:32 PM
Eventually, we just have to find the "Bronco Way."

Find a core group of guys who are BRONCOS and lead the team from within. Then build around those guys. The guys who empitomize what the Broncos are. Don't sign from the outside, re-sign from the inside.

Add to those guys from the draft. Eventually, you build a culture to your team, and everyone falls in line. The guys who perform, know they are going to get paid, and try that much harder.

Who are our core guys? That remains to be seen. Could be a number of guys. But eventually, we need to settle on our core like Pittsburgh has, and build around that.

8 guys on Pittsburgh defense is either on their 2nd or 3rd contract with the team. Pittsburgh drafted them, developed them, and kept them.

That's the way we need to go. Stop getting guys from the outside.

I guess the Jets signed Mangold to an extension? I like Kalil too, and Fox already has a history with him. Center does need to be addressed. I would prefer that Walton be able to play it, but there were some problems last year. That line needs a veteran leader. It may be necessary to bring in a veteran RT. Kalil could also serve as that leader.

Ngata will be snapped up by Baltimore, but it would do the Broncos a world of good to sign one of the top DT's. No doubt.
