View Full Version : Orton flew the OL and Brady Quinn to Vegas the day after the season ended - no invite for Tebow

According to Woody, the day after the season ended. Says Orton leased a private jet and flew the OL and B.Quinn to Vegas. No invite for Tim (probably a good thing as he'd surely "save" Sin City on arrival).

Maybe this is just classic DP reporting and Tebow was invited but declined, and Woody couldn't be bothered to actually do any work.

wouldn't you have to be a player to know if Orton simply said, "dude, you can come too if you want." This reeks of speculation based simply on Tebow's, rather understandable, absence.

Not to mention if Tebow is as beloved as we are led t believe don't you think one of the olineman might have brought him along?

Of course the Headline, "Tim Tebow isn't interest in Vegas," isn't exactly ground breaking.

Orton and Quinn are NFL QBs, plus they were with other NFL players. They wouldn't need Tebow to pull chicks.

It's not a tea party. Who cares about "invited" or "refused to go." Adults have there ways of planning trips, and figuring who's in and who is out. I think Woody is being a little sensationalist in phrasing it as "wasn't invited." I doubt he's got that level of detail.

typical Denver Post BS. even if it's true, why write about it? this is supposed to be the Denver paper. why purposely try to create drama and tension on the team? or with the fanbase? what purpose does it serve?

oh yeah... to sell more birdcage liners.

the Denver Post and their BS can go F themselves. once sportswriters discovered they could become rich and famous following in the footsteps of Woodward and Bernstein by digging up dirt, sportswriting has taken a nosedive. does anyone in Denver need to know this other than Orton and the guys he took?

next thing you know, Woody will be writing about how Orton won't eat lunch with Tebow or won't park next to him in the parking lot. Woody is an asshat.

This.

Another Woody is being a d-bag to gain attention article. They were probably getting it up and he said, "Hey Tim we're gettin' guys together to go to Vegas, wanta come along?" And Tebow said, "God bless, I'm good"...or words to that effect. Unless Woody was hiding in the closet he wouldn't know any of this, so no big deal.

But seriously, I think Woody is a potstirring gossip. The "article" and I use this term loosely, is not proof of anything. It's weird how quickly turned on Kyle, though given the way everyone following Elway has been ridiculed, insulted, evicerated, not surprising. Kyle strikes me as a pretty level headed, decent guy. He's worked really hard for us and he may not be perfect, but I liked watching him play this year. Even though the losses were difficult and painful, I liked him. And Brandon Lloyd would not be probowl bound without him. Oh well this article is silliness.

During the season the linemen are "fined" by the other linemen. Example- Chris misses a block for whatever reason, when they go over film somebody says "kuper you are supposed to go to 2nd level and pick up the ILB" chris says " I know but the DE had a hold of my jersey" boom- that's $50. So chris says "You missed that same block last week and didn't get fined" boom- another fifty for being defensive. So then he says " I'm just not gonna participate in film breakdown" another fifty for being sensitive. He used to get nailed by Hamilton and Nalen when he first arrived but NOW he's the guy that defines what a fine is and who gets it. By the end of the season they have something between 10-40K to spend on the Vegas trip. It's hilarious to listen to how they bag each other and make up fines to piss people off

I heard Chris and Ryan Harris on his radio show describe the fining process. Hilarious. He also said that most of the money in the pot went to Kenny McKinley's son. Very cool of them to do that for him.

Good to hear that the fine system lives on, although the Oline is a lot more vocal than they use to be under Gibbs/Dennison.

Actually while prostitution is legal in Vegas, it's still illegal to publicly solicit. Walk down the strip and you won't see a single soliciting prostitute, but you will see lots of people trying to hand you flyers. This is legal, but they aren't allowed to verbally interact with you either, so they just flick their cards and try to hand them to any young male without a girl on his arm.

It's actually more creepy than the alternative IMHO.

Quinn didn't want Tebow to get all "bibley" on him while he talked about working the glory holes on fremont street.

Ok, I never been to Vegas, yet, but fremont street sounds like some place I should check out. Am I right?

No, that's Brady Quinn... well the sword fighting in particular.

What I do know is two of the linemen won a substantial amount of cash and they split it amongst all of them so it basically paid for everything and nobody was out a dime

They won at something finally! Not football related but it's a start. :thanku:

Orton is the one that got McD fired.. all those empty stats McD's system got him added to Orton's ultra conservative play to keep his job... McD takes the fall.

I'm excited about Tebow as a player, but I really wouldn't want to invite him to Vegas either. Talk about a buzzkill.

lol, are you kidding me? Dude atrracts the kind of world class trim you and I could only dream about, AND he won't take any of it. If I could I'd have Tim Tebow go out with me to all my social events.

Well Tebow put on his twitter that he has been spending time in Arizona training over the offseason started about a week ago.

Do you think Tim Tebow masturbates?

Does Tim Tebow wantonly spew his seed without the chance of spawning an offspring?

Does he waste his Kundalini energy in such a frivolous manner?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Do you think I should start a poll about it?

Do you think Tim Tebow masturbates? NO, there would be structure damage done to every house he masturbated in

Does Tim Tebow wantonly spew his seed without the chance of spawning an offspring? Tebow can spawn offspring with a mere snap of his fingers

Well, looking at the data and extrapolating we see:

He played in 4 games and then Mcdaniels got fired
Then he played 3 games and Studesville lost his head coaching gig
That means he will play 2 games under John Fox and 1 game under whoever replaces him before he will retire.

No arrests? That's actually a better outcome than probabaly anyone would have imagined. Nice little bonding trip to bring the troops together. I approve.

No no, not serious ... just a play on the ubiquitous thread (Popps' no doubt) titled the same but with Cutler: "Is Cutler a Buddng Coach-Killer?"

I dont see Tebow as being a drunk, gambling, whorehound like Orton or gay like Quinn, ok maybe a little bi curious.

Vegas is called sin city for a reason and it doesnt seem like a spot where Tebow would want to hang out anyway..

I know, but the data doesn't lie, Tebow only has 3 more NFL games under a head coach so he better make them count.

Tebow was probably invited as a courtesy, but just a courtesy only. Nobody expected him to go along, and he wasn't stupid enough to accept. I guess he could have accepted for a free ride, then gone his own way, but that's not how a guest behaves.

My guess is Tebow was invited but said, "Ah shucks guys, thanks a million but Vegas is not my thing I would only be in the way but here's a dollar please play a slot for me and if it pays off give the winnings to this orphanage. "

TEBOW TAKES IN VEGAS CLUB SCENE
Tim Tebow surrendered to temptation Wednesday night and checked out Las Vegas’ club scene.

Making his first trip to Las Vegas, the Denver Broncos quarterback, who has cultivated a wholesome image, was clubbing until 2:30 a.m. at Surrender nightclub at Steve Wynn’s Encore.

Sticking to water, he was with Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson and some other friends.

Tebow was in town for a Nike photo shoot that included Peterson, the New York Jets’ Darrelle Revis and Detroit Lions rookie sensation Ndamukong Suh.

A devout Baptist from a family of missionaries, Tebow has been passionate about expressing his Christian faith. He used John 3:16 eye-black markings as a way to share the scripture with others.

His clean-cut image and religious expression have helped make him one of the NFL’s most popular players. For most of the season he had the highest-selling jersey as a rookie and finished behind Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
