I forget the name of the procedure but they told me it's coming out.

The stint needs to stay in for a another week just to make sure everything is cleared out.

Sounds like they are just going to retrieve it with a basket. Sometimes if a stone is too large for that, they will break it up with a laser or sound waves. The stent is no big deal. Best wishes and get well soon.

But this 5-6 mm just hurts like hell.

Nothing to eat or drink after midnight so I'm starving right now.

DR B, speak for yourself. I had one inside my urethra/ureter (spelling) for nearly 2 months before they took it out and driving in a car, you could feel every ounce of gravel on the road, if I moved quickly it was like a stabbing sensation.

My ureter was too narrow so they lasered the stone (1cm-1.5cm diameter) and kept the stent in for that period, I didn't realise that the bloody thing was metal and 10-12 inches long.

I work in the Health Service over here so I knew the Urologist who was doing the Surgery and I think he left the stent in for that long for badness cos he retired after me, I was his last flick of the laser.

OOOHHH no. I dealt with a 15mm kidney stone for 1 year. Went through the laser several times and finally the surgery. The absolute worst part was the stint. In fact when I had the surgery I refused to let them put the stint back in and I was fine. Maybe it's a female thing.

Anyway, be thinking of you Adam, you'll be fine.

I do have my 40th bday physical coming in April and it is Prostate check time. I should ask Blart for relaxing tips. Maybe I should ask Oscar from The Office. (cant find the youtube video of that)

Haha, the stint has a string tied to the end of it, next week it'll come out and I'm done.

That office episode is great, Oscar wouldn't mind helping you plus your into prostate play last time I heard.

See, I can't help but think the pain is from that damn stint. I had the same pain when I had the stint (no string). That's why I wouldn't let them put another in with the surgery and I was fine. Oh well, glad you are up and about, well about anyway.

Thank you but I have thrown up twice from the anesthesia.

Once on the way from the hospital and once at 2:30 in the morning.

I'm taking a pill for nausea but it doesn't seem to be working.

doctors should've told you to drink very little. The effect of the anesthesia will make you throw up.
Been there done that...

They give you so much stuff for the pain, plus the anesthesia. I threw up at the hospital twice but hid it because I wanted to go home. If the pill isn't working you have my sympathies.

Glad to hear your surgery went well.

I was looking through some old cell phone pics and here is a pic I took of one of my 6 mm kidney stones.

<IMG SRC="http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL637/2498345/6660043/366105353.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com">

I am still amazed that I was able to pass a 10 mm stone on my own 5 or 6 years ago.

I was all scheduled to have surgery, as my Urologist said it was way too big to pass on its own. I normally gut out all my stones and pass them on my own, as I hate surgeries and would rather see if I can pass them on my own.

A day or two before my scheduled surgery, the 10 mm stone came out. Got stuck for a while in my penis and made sitting down unbearable (as well as the few hour drive home for Cleveland when it happened).

I took it to the doctors and he was amazed and said that was the biggest he had seen passed on its own.

That stone was almost twice the size of the one in that picture.

Like I said in your previous thread, I had to have lithotripsy once and had a stent in for a few days after the procedure was done.
