Jay Cutler and girlfriend Kristin Cavallari dined at Mastro's Steakhouse on Sunday after the Bears' 21-14 loss to the Packers in the NFC championship game.

Cutler, who left the game in the third quarter with a knee injury, was not on crutches but "he limped a tiny bit," according to a source. The couple was joined by 11 other people in Mastro's private upstairs dining room, and our spies tell us that he took the stairs rather than the elevator.

It was the second time in as many weeks Cutler and Cavallari dined at the River North establishment. They had dinner at Mastro's after the Bears' playoff win over the Seahawks on Jan. 16.

Caleb Hanie had to come in and pay Jay's tip for him. Todd Collins tried, but he got lost in the stairwell.

Upon further review...

The critters eating the dorito bag are giant pill bugs. Rolly Pollies.

The Giant Marine Isopod, like pretty much everything else we wish we didn't know about, comes to us from the deep sea. They're usually scavengers, but do sometimes hunt slow moving creatures and much like horrible, alien, insectile guinea pigs, they're known to eat so much in one meal that they become bloated and unable to move.

I don't like these arguments. The same argument came out when Broncos players were partying after the last game a few years ago...

Hey, my best friend got fired a few years ago...what did we do...we went out and got him drunk!

Just saying, I don't think its fair to bag on players for going out after losses. It just so happens that their bad day is on a national stage...

Yep, can't fault a guy for not wanting to just hang out at home and sulk in the loss. I'd rather go out and get my mind off of it too.

He is a generous tipper

"The Tribune's David Kaplan reports that Cutler was a generous tipper, leaving an extra $500 on top of the usual 20 percent of the bill. Cutler dined on the second floor of the restaurant and sources said that while he was limping, he did take the stairs and not the elevator"

Well, I was half-joking... but I doubt your friend getting fired let down an entire city to the point that they were burning his image in parking lots.

Not the greatest analogy.

Guys can go out after losses. I'm just saying that this might have been a special circumstance. You know... people marching around with torches and pitch-forks and all. Oh, and you just stepped on your own #### in the biggest game of your life.

But, everyone is different. He wanted to go out on the town. Actually not surprising to me.

When your girlfriend's sole reason for being a celebrity is being seen out on the town (at this point in her illustrious career), you're kind of effed in that department.

Wow, Cutler just doesn't understand that his every move is under the microscope right now. If I was him, I wouldn't be going anywhere and if I did have to go somewhere, I'd be on crutches the whole time...

Maybe he realizes it and just doesn't care what some drama queens on a message board/in the media think of him. His coach and teammates have already come out getting his back. Those are the only people on this planet that he should care about right now.

that may be the case, but perception is reality and if the general public thinks Cutler could have played but didn't, then it's just gonna make his life more of a pain than it already is. It's just common sense to keep a low profile when your public enemy #1.

Nah, not everyone is scared of everything. Basically, Cutler just isn't a little b**** like some of you. Why would he be? He is getting paid millions, is much bigger than anyone that would say anything, and isn't going to lose his job any time soon.
