I don't like to bag on the guy too much since he does a lot of charity work. Sure, one can critique his NFL demeanor, but Jay does a lot of good in the community. That counts.

What about Hillis?

Speaking of Hillis...and I know you'll enjoy this Popps...I was having some fun ith Khan today over the phone saying that we would have gotten to the AFCCG in 2008 if Hillis didn't get hurt.

John Facenda voice and NFL Films music background..........."in the playoffs, John Engelberger was all business" (film clip: Engelberger and Ekuban sandwiching the Ravens QB). "Jay Cutler filled the Denver skies with footballs as the Bronco aerial assault left the Ravens gasping for air" (film clip: Deep ball followed by Jay giving the finger to a Baltimore defender...scoreboard shot: DEN 34 BAL 21)

"On AFC Championship Sunday, the Broncos were greeted by an angry crowd of terrible towels in Pittsburgh, but they had been there before and approached the contest with steely resolve and a resolute sense of purpose" (film clip: Shanny looking relaxed pregame, joking with Nate Webster on the sidelines).......(film clip: Willie Parker chewing the OL out and breaking his helmet on the floor in the 2nd quarter)..."Early in the 2nd quarter, Pittsburgh's Willie Parker became frustrated, as he had no answer for the brick wall that was the Denver defense" (film clip: all three LB's gangtackling Parker, with Webster's helmet falling off and DJ and Jamie Winborn posing after the play).

(film clip...Hillis getting up from the pile making a first down gesture, while James Harrison lay on the ground grabbing his broken wrist) "With one final first down, running back Peyton Hillis had bullied the Steelers into submission and propelled the Broncos...(dramatic pause)...into the Super Bowl" (film clip: clock at 0:47 and ticking down, 58 year oldpasty white western PA housewife utters expletive in stands).

Good article by Micheal Wilbon, one of ESPNs biggest Bears fan

CHICAGO -- The only thing older than the Bears-Packers rivalry is the Bears' failure over most of that time at quarterback. Great linebackers, running backs and linemen the Bears have plenty of; quarterbacks are another matter entirely. And perhaps never has there been more despair in Chicago over quarterback incompetence than in the wake of the loss to the Packers in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. Forbidding the mention of the name Jay Cutler (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=9597) may be the best way to cope with winter. Only a Bears quarterback could stink out the joint and then get worse while sitting on the sideline.

Charles Barkley (of all people) made a great point about the whole Cutler brouhaha. He basically said that questioning his heart didn't make sense - but that questioning his behavior on the sideline after he was out DID make sense. I.e. the fact that he was not actively engaged with Caleb Hanie on the sidelines, trying to help him out, was possibly the worst part of his day.
