This.

Also, I think that a lot of the things that people think are unique to todays society have always happening, but the internet and media have just helped to bring it all out. That and everyone seems to have short memories and wouldn't even remember a similar situation that happened 20 years ago. The entire idea of society being worse than it used to be is very subjective anyways.

There are such things as standards. Relativistic standards arent standards at all. Without standards of behavior, humans devolve into animals...i.e. getting naked in class and having oral sex.

When I was 7, I was interested in thundercats, He-man and playing in the woods. Sex did not even filter into my head until 6th grade.

That game sucked.

And then we followed it up with one that humiliated the fans even worse. Such high highs and such low lows. '85 was cruel because it looked like we were going to win that game.

Yes, what we need is more laws, and more cops. More cops everywhere.

We need to always structure the entirety of society around the most moronic individuals within it.

This is Oakland we are talking about. "Parents" probably doesn't describe the situation, with emphasis on the plural form. Do you think there is a father anywhere near the situation? I don't.

I don't mean to put you down, but the the of your thread has an obvious answer and should be retitled "What has happened to good moral parenting in our society". These kids are just acting what they are seeing and hearing in the home, whether it is direct human behavior or things they are allowed to see in media. This is not natural for 7 year olds to have an interest in this type of behavior. It is being prompted by an outside source.

What would I do??? I think I would have had to be bailed out.

I worked in the mental health field for almost 20 years, predominately with kids. A couple of misconceptions I see in here, first that this stuff only visits the lower end of the socio-economic income ladder, and second, that daddy is nowhere to be found. On the contrary, daddy might be not only be around, he might be comin' round every night. Childhood sexual abuse, which is what you are witnessing being expressed outwardly in sexual acting out at age seven, crosses all racial, and socio-economic and socio-cultural groups. People will endlessly argue about who is responsible, but the simple fact is the system is broken on so many levels that only a willingness to fundamentally re-examine the way we do things on a societ-wide level will ever get us closer to fixing what's wrong. We don't protect women and children well in this country in a lot of ways, this being one of them. Laws are only as effective as the surrounding societal infrastructure allows them to be.

The teacher needs to be canned, since he was obviously out to lunch if he can't catch something like that in class. Maybe he was drunk or stoned, or just so disinterested he's reading the sports page...who knows?

I thought getting away with a spit-wad was cool at that age...

maybe we should all convert to Islam. they don't condone that kinda stuff....

or do they?

Quranic Tafsirs justifying pedophilia

To Muslims' denial that the Quran sanctions marriage of prepubescent girls and sex with them, which amounts to pedophilia, is pure nonsense, rest of this article will look into most authentic Tafsirs (Interpretation of Quran) to get the exact message of the verse of Iddah, Quran 65:4. First of all, let us look at the tafsir of modern scholars. Renowned Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi (d. 1979) in Tafhim al Quran (Commentary on the Quran) interprets verse 65:4 as:
And if you are in doubt about those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, (you should know that) their waiting period is three months, and the same applies to those who have not menstruated as yet. They may not have menstruated as yet either because of young age, or delayed menstrual discharge as it happens in the case of some women, or because of no discharge at all throughout life which, though rare, may also be the case. In any case, the waiting-period of such a woman is the same as of the woman, who has stopped menstruation that is three months from the time divorce was pronounced.
Here, one should bear in mind the fact that according to the explanations given in the Quran the question of the waiting period arises in respect of the women with whom marriage may have been consummated, for there is no waiting-period in case divorce is pronounced before the consummation of marriage. (Al-Ahzab: 49). Therefore, making mention of the waiting-period for the girls who have not yet menstruated, clearly proves that it is not only permissible to give away the girl in marriage at this age but it is also permissible for the husband to consummate marriage with her. Now, obviously no Muslim has the right to forbid a thing which the Quran has held as permissible
