Alright, question for all the doctors here...

I broke my thumb in a lacrosse game 2 weeks ago. The doctor said the swelling should start to go down (it has) and I should be able to bend my thumb soon after. I can't. It's at the tip of the thumb (behind the nail), how long does it take to heal if it is in a splint?

Cut it off, man.
You don't need no freakin' thumb. Use the other one! LOL

if you were a real man like Ronnie Lott, you'd just have it amputated.

While im not a doctor, i have broken my thumb, i broke it down by the wrist tho, it split like a banana from impact of a motorcycle crash. Anyhow, i had about 20 % movement when not in the split about a week after the crash, the next week i had surgery and it was pinned. Standard healing for a bone is 4-6 weeks, if you move it to much youll shift the bone and end up having to have it pinned if you want a straight thumb. To this day i still only have about 75% - 85 % motion out of it
