Never had a single top 10 overall in his entire career, and only 2 in points of which none were in the top 5. The highest was when he wasn't even a DC. Don't know how anyone can be high on this dude. This isn't a Nolan (who had a HUGE impact for the Dolphins this year) just as he did with us last year before McD went ape **** on him with how to run the D after the Indy game.

The Broncos are hiring Jim Mora as a back-up to John Fox for the eventual day when they fire Fox mid-way through next season.

Mike Trgovac was Defensive Coordinator under John Fox with Carolina 2003-2008.

NFL Rank Scoring:
Carolina - 2003 - #10 (DC)
Carolina - 2004 - #15 (DC)
Carolina - 2005 - #5 (DC)
Carolina - 2006 - #8 (DC)
Carolina - 2007 - #15 (DC)
Carolina - 2008 - #12 (DC)
Green Bay - 2009 - #7 (D-Line)
Green Bay - 2010 - #2 (D-Line)

Hopefully John Fox waits for this guy. Jim Mora Jr.'s stats are not even close to as impressive. Mora also jumps around teams alot, which is not what the Broncos need. We need continuity. Trgovac has been coaching the 3-4 DL in Green Bay for the last two years (they switched to a 3-4 two years ago). This year Green Bay has the #2 scoring Defense in the NFL under Dom Capers as the DC. Trgovac has coached great defenses in both the 4-3 and the 3-4. This is a no brainer.

I like the idea of Trgovac much more than Mora too, but let's not overrate him, dont' forget in those years he had Julius Peppers, Kris Jenkins and Dan Morgan in their primes. I won't pretend to know who Mora had on his squads but I doubt they were comparable. The best DC in the world can't do much here until we get some decent personnel :)

Jim Mora's defensive coordinator here in Atlanta was Ed Donatell, if that helps. In 2004 we had a pretty good run defense. Patrick Kerney, Rod Coleman, Keith Brooking, and a rookie DeAngelo Hall were the highlights of that defense.

I can assure you that even with the thrashing we took this past weekend, the talent level on our defense right now is miles ahead of where it was at any time with Mora.

Why did Trgovac leave the DC position at Carolina to be a d-line coach? Was he forced out?

Wikipedia says he turned down a contract offer. It's kind of interesting that he took a demotion in doing so.

Makes me think he's not much of possibility to join Fox again, unless anyone else knows more background.

Does this mean that Pete Carroll is on his way soon too?
