The Main Event of the weekend, the one everybody has been waiting for.

Seattle Seahawks (8-9 1st NFC West) @ Chicago Bears (11-5 1st NFC North)

Where: Soldier Field
Time: 1:00 ET, 11:00 MT, 10:00 PT
TV: Fox
Line: Bears by 10, O/U 43
Last Meeting: Seattle won 23-20 in Week 6

Who do you got?

Cmac821

Oddly enough I want the Bears to win. But on the flip side I can't imagine the whole "Jay Cutler scandal" explosion if the Bears win a playoff game. So for the sake of not wanting to listen to all the b****ing if the Bears must win it better be from defense.

Edit: Has Jay won a playoff game before?

Well I've been wrong on all except Baltimore-KC and Baltimore-Pittsburgh. I'd say Chicago because Seattle does not play well on the road, although their one road win was against Cutler, uh er, I mean Chicago.

Chicago has been my second favorite team in the league, I've always enjoyed their defenses. And what happened between McD and Cutler has nothing to do with the way I feel about Cutler. I did not like the dude long before that. I saw his sully attitude, the way he threw his teammates under the bus after a loss without addressing what he did wrong. If he were to get to the NFCC game his ego may cause him to explode, not to mention the Mane.

you know...i wish Cutler good fortune today. Sure he's an emo-self-absorbed (kinda redundant) jackass, but he can make a run and win it all.

This should amount to a bye week for the Bears, but I have a feeling that Cutler will keep the Seahawks in it with at least one red zone turnover.

Chicago is the safe pick. Cutler hasn't been throwing much the past two months, but from what I've seen he and the receivers have been tearing up the blitzes teams have been trying to run against them.

Not to mention a solid defense, running game, and ST's.

I take the Bears all day long and I'm batting perfect so far this weekend. Seattle was nearly perfect last week so if they can do that again, they could pull the upset but their team isn't as good as they played last week.

Also, the reason Seattle won earlier in the year was it was during that period when the Chicago OL couldn't block anyone and, I believe, Seattle lost a couple of their big DL players a few weeks after that. Chicago has since fixed their protection issues as well. Just don't see it happening.

I hope the Bears are looking past Seattle to the Packers, but even then I still think that they win.

I think Bears win big over by the third......granted I want it to go the other way or for Cutler to suffer a Thiesman-esque injury either situation would be fun for me

Oh, and I forgot I saw that Pete Carroll is insisting on kicking to Hester today. That's never a good decision. I hope it's not Carroll's ego forcing him to do that.

Chicago has always been my NFC team as well - that is until pissy mcpouty pants arrived. Call me bitter but I just can't cheer for him, particularly since they don't really deserve to be here. It'd be one thing if legitimately kicked a$$ this year and didn't luck out week after week, then I could possibly stomach rooting for them.

Although cheering for that smarmball Carroll isn't exactly an easy pill to swallow either. <sigh>

the refs probably got "that call" from the commish last night letting them know that the league would really, really, really like to see a Bears/Packers rematch in the NFCC game.

still, i'd love to see Frown Cannon throw 5 redzone INTs today and be run out of Chicago on a rail. it's only a matter of time until he's the starting QB for the Raiders... we all know that's his destiny.

you have a simplistic view of the world. how does McD even factor into this? seriously, it's possible to dislike both Cutler and McD. did you know that?

i don't know Cutler so i can't say one way or the other whether i dislike him. but he was a double-edged sword as the Broncos QB. he could move the ball up and down the field, but then he would turn it over in the red zone. he forced his way out of town and that's fine with me... the circumstances of that exit just allow me to enjoy rooting for his failure ON THE FIELD.

the reason the defense didn't like him is that he wasn't a good teammate and in some interviews after losses, he came really close to pointing fingers at the defense as the reason for the loss. that just doesn't go over well with teammates. if Champ Bailey had a hard time finding something nice to say about him, that speaks volumes for how much he had divided the locker room.

yes the Broncos sucked Shanny's last couple of years so there is blame to go all around. but the QB is a team leader. he needs to unite not divide the lockerroom.

i know you have a crush on Cutler. but let it go... he will never reciprocate. he thinks you're a 6. he only dates 9's now.

I find this ironic that Cutler said he couldn't trust McD , all this started with a little white lie, and he thought trust was a very important element between coach and QB and 18 months later the owner is saying the franchise has to restore it's "intergrity".

I agree with everything you said- however, Cutler was a bright spot on the 08 team, and definitely not a problem which needed to be traded.

This has been borne out via the last 2 years, the firing of the architect of those teams, and the current state of affairs of the offense, as well as the entire team. In short, shambles.

Meanwhile, the guy we traded is on his way to hosting an NFCCG.

I'm a huge Cutler fan and always will be. But, I have to agree with Steve Young...Cutler needs to work on his footwork and not alway throw off of his back foot or be flat footed. If he ever masters the little things....look out. He's elite. But, when he throw flat footed off his back foot (usually when he has someone in his face)...he's terrible.

I'm glad to see Jay doing well....and I'm stoked to be moving forward with Tim Tebow. It's like someone's looking out for us!!!

I'll just note that they've only let Cutler pass once (and it was knocked down) in the red zone since he hit that 'hawk right in the chest at the goalline. It seems that Martz has learned a lot more than Cutler, my opinion of him has grown just a little bit over the season.

As I said in another thread-

First it was that Cutler couldn't play well against a good team down the stretch in a season.

Then it became Cutler couldn't even make the playoffs, let alone win a division.

Then is was that he couldn't win a game in the playoffs.

So now you have backed all the way up to Cutler being unable to make a superbowl his first season in a new system, with limited talent around him offensively?

Interesting.

funny how you talk about pro football as if you have ever been anywhere even close to it. ever met or worked with pro football players, or does all your "understanding" come from the interwebz?

Common sense and a modicum of ability to understand that which I am watching, rather than having to fit it into a predetermined conclusion... like you.

For example, from the TsiTard point of view- the Bears lose, then Cutler sucked. If the Bears win, it's because the team played well, and Cutler sucked.

I am able to observe, and be objective. you don't possess a single objective bone in your body, save for the days McDaniels rams his up your ass.

Bears Vs. Seahawks: John Carlson Has Head Injury, Feeling In His Extremities

Jan 16 10:37a by Brian Floyd (http://seattle.sbnation.com/authors/brian-floyd)
The Seattle Seahawks (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/seattle-seahawks) training staff was taking the utmost precaution with John Carlson (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/34640/john-carlson)’s injury, opting to remove his facemask and place him on a backboard just in case he had a neck or spinal cord injury. The good news, however, is that his injury is limited to his head, and does not involve damage to his spinal cord or back. With the way he landed, hitting his head on the turf first, it would appear Carlson has a concussion. Thankfully, he has feeling in all his extremities.

As ol#7 said, Carlson is being missed.

With this Cover-2 defense, quick throws/routes/3 step plays are not going to be effective.

Nothing is opening up because there isn't any time for it to open up...

They need longer developing plays or buy Matt some time... naked bootleg or something.

Bears front 4 are great though...

Carlson is a really nice player, total shame he got crunched like that

Didn't you just start watching football a couple years ago ?

and your post was so stupid you changed it before I posted this ........

You Cutler haters will try about anything to make yourselves feel like you was right , Cutler sucks , and it wasn't a bad move to trade him .

It looks really stupid and such a reach.

you clearly know nothing about me, but carry on.

funny how you and your BF colonel continue with your pining for cutler, non stop, regardless of time or situation or how hes even performing. like ive said before, no one is forcing you to be a fan of the broncos, if you like and miss cutler that much, go be a bears fan!

this isnt good fan or bad fan, this is, pick what is more important to you and go with it. if thats cutler, fine, but you are on a broncos message board, hes never coming back, whining to us nonstop will not change that nor are you "winning" any argument, because everything is over and the coach that did it is gone.

explain how anyone is pinned? HES GONE AND HE WILL NEVER BE A DENVER BRONCO AGAIN.

so why is he constantly discussed here as if you have some argument you need to win? i truly dont get it, tim tebow is the current and future QB of this team, not jay cutler.

How does this in any way stop us from being allowed to observe the rest of the NFL?

Is there anything you understand about life, or is it just a series of headaches and grunts for you?

go read every one of your posts from this thread, how you immediately started whining about a guy who is not the coach of this team and a QB who is not on this team either, and tell me how that is just observing. we were "observing" the NFL when wondering why they are throwing the ball every down when they are getting ridiculous yards out of running. you are whining.

As you know, there is unfortunately an element in every crowd that does not exhibit good sportsmanship. And when crowds grow to the size of those on a football game day, it takes only a very small percentage of offenders to ruin the day for so many. If the Bears hang on and end up playing the Pack. I hope the game is alot like this one...blustery snow and plenty cold. Now that will be a damned good game to watch!

I like the Bears chances. Yes, Rogers is looking like Tom Brady. But, the Bears have a better running game and their defense is equal to the Pack. So, maybe Rogers has a little bit on Cutler...but, the Bears RB's coupled with home field advantage should give the Bears the upper hand.

Once again, Williams just doesn't seem to impress me. On that last pass, he sees a DB coming into the picture but keeps running and intending to cradle the ball than go compete and try to hand catch it. Just seems like a non-playmaker and non-factor, generally, overall.

But both of em so far have basically been the player's fault. The TE earlier did a dive/hop thing to avoid taking the hit and got upended. This one, he launched himself at his feet rather than just wrapping him up and taking him down. It was a routine play, no need to do anything more than a simple wrap up tackle.

Before this game, I thought the only way GB wasn't headed to the SB was if Seattle could play perfect again, get the home field advantage in the NFCCG, and capitalize on it. I'm no longer counting Chicago out. They are playing some fine football today.
