I totally understand anyone not being sold on Tebow. It was his rationalization that the hiring of Elway would make it cool with the fans to start Orton over him.

Yeah, that was the absurd part. Though I don't think doing stuff like splitting snaps is really what Tebow needs at this point. I think this is his team, for better or worse, for at least a year.

I would agree maybe even 2.....the learning curve for a qb is usually three years so give him that and see.....i think he will prove people wrong.

That's true.....although I wonder if Elway could pull that off now, given that so many have already sold Tebow their souls. It'd be a Clash of the Titans type senerio Ha!

Kiszla is the worst columnist in town. His columns state a premise in the first paragraph. After that, every paragraph is just a repeat of the first one. And they're all intellectually dishonest - he doesn't even try to pretend he really believes the things he writes. It's just bait.

Until Bernie Lincicome was mercifully put out of his misery by the demise of the RMN, Kiszla was the second worst columnist in town. Now, he's the worst.

With the way the team rallied around Tebow and Tebow made the games competitive, its going to be pretty tough for Orton to win that competition. With less to work with and a messed-up locker room situation, Tebow out-performed Orton. Without a doubt, he made the most of his opportunity. Coaches do not overlook that.

When John Fox looks at how Tebow boosted offensive production in a much less palatable situation, the choice will be easy.

This article questions Elway's ability based on his past experience in football and business, and operates under the assumption that Xanders has no clue what he's doing. Of course Lombardi is bitter that he hasn't gotten another call to run a franchise, but those ARE legitimate questions that eventually will be answered.

However, he goes on to basically endorse the Fox hire, only questioning the interview process. That's such a lame premise considering by all the Broncos by all accounts hired the right guy, and frankly nobody knows how in depth they got with Fox.

They may have been talking to him the whole 3 days he was snowed in and before, for all anyone knows. The rest of the interviews may have just been window dressing in case they couldn't work out a deal with Fox.

I said his main premise was lame. What do you want?

His most damning statement was that he would have interviews each coach for two days. One, he doesn't know that didn't happen (I'm sure there was more dialogue going on this week than just the in person interview) and, two, nobody ever interviews every candidate for two days. It's ludacris.

But the questions about Elway and Xanders? Legit.

Legwold's remarks.

The thing that these guys are missing is that Tebow is ideally suited for a team that relies heavily on the run, because he can move the chains and make plays when he needs to. He's also got a great deep ball. He's not going to be the QB that throws it 35-40 times a game.

1) Run the ball
2) Let Tebow make plays when he needs to in order to move the chains.
3) Take 3-4 shots down the field when the opportunity presents itself.

I'm sure that you have a better understanding of the game than Elway or Fox.

I'm talking about the writers. Or did you get the impression that Elway and Fox desire a pass-first team?

I'm saying that a "raw" Tebow can operate well in what Fox wants to do with the offense. Like Legwold says, from the way that Elway talks, Tebow is the presumed starter for next year.

So Xanders was on the radio last night for quite a long stretch during the Sandy Clough show. He said that the interview was originally scheduled for 3 hours, it stretched to 5 1/2. Then Elway decided to take it to dinner (at Elway's of course), where they entered at 7:00 and left at midnight.

So all told it was a roughly 11 hour interview, followed by a brief follow-up the next morning where Bowlen offered Fox the job.

Take that for what it's worth.

How very true. I love the Cowboy fans. Sports radio make the drive home entertaining if nothing else. Rulon 's boy Galloway is pure comedy.
