A lot of people are thinking he could go to the panthers.. I really hope not.

Ron Rivera the HC in Carolina, how much input does he have in that owner-driven franchise?

Ask yourself this, with luck not declaring who else would they take?

Carolina has to take him...right? They can't possibly be thinking Gabbert.

Peterson
Green
Bowers
And I've even seen a couple of mdrafts suggesting they'll take Cam Newton.

I Think the panthers absolutely have to go offense.

Also, from what I've read, Rivera is looking to install a 3-4 in Carolina, which would make Fairley a low priority for them.

Bowers- With Charles Johnson a free agent and losing Peppers a year ago they need help at DE.
Peterson
Green

Can't see them taking a receiver #1
They need a QB in the worst way maybe a trade to them for Orton than taking Green #1 makes some sense.
Also hard to imagine them taking a corner at #1 overall, hard to take him at #2.

Who knows? They need a QB really bad, IMO. But, they did draft Jimmy Claussen and Tony Pike last year. Their play-by-play guy was on the 87.7 radio show and he had no idea who they were gonna pick.

"If he is taken first in the draft, he would join former Williamson High quarterback JaMarcus Russell as a No. 1 pick from the school."
Then lets hope he is picked first in the draft!!!!

If the Panthers pass on him I'd be screaming mad if we don't get him.

I have a hard time believing that they WON'T take a quarterback. Jimmy Clausen can't have THAT much potential, can he?

Really hope the Panthers are stupid enough to pass.

Wouldn't Orton be better for the Panthers than Clausen, or any rookie coming out this year at QB? Esp w/ Steve Smith to throw it to?

Mcshay was beating him up today on the radio....stating he took plays off, plays lazy etc. What 300lber doesn't take plays off?

I don't think the Panthers will give up on Clausen after one season. I think they'll bring in Green to help him and lengthen Smith's career.

No 3-4 team in the top 10 is going to take Fairley, it just doesn't suit his play style, and you'll end up with a malcontent. They'll take Green in my opinion and hope that either Clausen or Moore turn out better next year or they'll draft a new QB and have their wide receiver there waiting for them already.

Agree too much invest in last years draft to give on it this soon. If they keep the pick they'll take Green . IMO:thumbs:

I dont like that Fairly is a one year wonder esentially.
I dont like the fact that he will take plays off and has to have the proper motivation.
This is one of the first times i can remember who i wouldnt draft #1 overall.

Ya just our luck we get the #2 pick the year after everybody and his brother came out to get drafted before the rookie cap so the cupboard is scant.
He would be great DE in a 3-4, I don't think he is going to wait very long on draft day.

Hmm...Fairley seems like an ideal 3-4 DE to me with his size.
