Did an awesome job with the seahawks today if we got him an awesome d cord I think it would be good. Also he is familiar with the broncos being he was a coach here. What do you guys think?

I think he's staying in Seattle until he's ready to be a HC.

We tried the really young HC thing already. Didn't work out so well.

No. No no no no no. No.

No.

Not enough experience. His offense has looked terrible most of the year.

Hiring a guy after one good outing is what gets you JaMarcus Russell as QB.

I'm mentioned him all week, now he gets love.

His prob is he's 34 with no defensive or HC experience. Can't see us doing this after the McD fiasco.

Maybe he learned a couple of things from his father on defense

Would that be good or bad? ;)

If you go back, I posted something when they fired the Goodmans. Something along the lines of: "McDaniels will be here until Shanny's golden boy (Bates) is ready to take the throne."

Don't think it will happen, but if it does, it will be one hell of a thread bump for me.

no thanks

Yeah! It's all about people who were here before when we also sucked.

I think he would be good if we get him some good cordinators and don't give him every power but ownership

I dunno about HC, but I would love him back here as the OC!

I'm actually not sure how his dad was as a d cord but he had to have taught him something about defense

WTF would he come back?

If someone suggested this in a bar, I would probably start a fight.

To be fair, his QB has been hurt most of the year and they've been installing a new offense.

I fully agree about not enough experience though. Someone to keep an eye on after our next coach gets fired.

I watched them a fair amount this year. Their scheme has looked good with really poor execution by the talent. He's a really solid OC IMO.

Bad coaching then.

It looked like a good scheme with poor player talent. Hasselback looked really awful at times this year, like he lost his throwing rhythm and would push the ball out. They really have very little talent wise out there, tho Lynch is doing his best to change that.

I would grant Bates an interview, tho he would be in my bottom tier.

No thanks. I think he's got a brighter future than Professor McBubbleScreen, but he's an experiment, not a solution.

In the same way one game didn't make Gregg Williams suddenly a bad co-ordinator, today didn't make Bates a good one.

It simply resembles the previous blunder too much for any type of serious consideration.

Agreed. That's unfair to Bates, but so is life.

I haven't been watching Seattle this year, but when he was our O-Cord. Bates was amazing as long as it wasn't inside the 20.

My thing is that whoever wins this week or next I think their ST coach should be here.

People forget how many runningbacks we had injured, not to mention how young and still maturing the offense was. Bates did a remarkable job with our offense, and had them performing at a very high level very quickly. This has been a trend wherever he's gone.

It's true that our offense struggled in the red zone, but to lay that at Jeremy Bates' doorstep rips all of the context out of what was happening that season.

So instead of picking up Marshawn Lynch for a 4th rounder we picked up Laurence Maroney. Great job.....

I assumed his point was more that you shouldn't crown somebody based on one game any more that you crucify somebody for same, which I 100% agree with, but agree it could be read that Bates wasn't any good to which I would disagree. All that said I'm not interested in Bates as a HC.

Shocking that a coach would pick up a player he'd used with some success previously over a player who was hurt CONSTANTLY and had an attitude problem in Buffalo. Look how shocked.

Man, hindsight is fun.

Ya not sticking up for McD here, but Lynch would have suck balls with us as well...maybe not as bad as the patriot predator though...he is on the chris simms suckage level
