One problem for NO coming back is the lack of pass protection by Jones and Bush. They are just not solid at picking up the blitz, therefore the verticle passing game suffers. Going to be seeing a ton of screens/play action/quick slants-outs as they can't keep 'em off of Brees long enough to go deep and get yards in big chunks.

Dave Logan on 850 AM on friday couldn't get past the fact that SEA was a 10+ pt underdog at home for this game. he called it unprecedented. he said he couldn't ever recall a home playoff team being that much an underdog.

Most of the folks down here in Atlanta would prefer to see Philly eliminated tomorrow. Mainly because of the rediculous split it would cause at the Dome if Vick came back here for a playoff game. Half the stadium would be wearing Vick jerseys and cheering for him in spite of the Falcons being the home team. You think we have a division in the fan base over Tebow? You should hear sports radio and the fanbase down here when it comes to Vick. Unreal.

^^^^^^^^THIS! I agree completely!

Course their next argument will be that if Seattle had to play the Aints at the Superdome, it never would have happened. That argument will only grow louder if Seattle gets pounded next weekend. Which unfortunately could happen. Both Chicago and Atlanta run the ball very well, right now NO doesn't.

WABronco
01-09-2011, 12:37 AM
There is no argument. Never was. Seattle winning takes care of that. And then the fact that a 7-9 playoff team had never happened before...there was never an argument. Win your division that's why they exist.

the new argument is to re-seed the playoffs. Cowher has been harping on this for a couple of weeks. i don't necessarily agree, but Cowher thinks that teams with the best records should get the higher seeds whether they win their division of not. i don't think that's fair unless everyone plays the exact same schedule, but this is the argument you will be hearing... i.e., that SEA didn't deserve a home playoff game at 7-9.
