Isn't Parcells working for them as a consultant on their search for staff?

"And if Harbaugh gets that mega-offer from Miami, the source said, the 49ers are unlikely to go dollar-for-dollar and would be prepared to move on from Harbaugh.

This should come to a head around noon tomorrow.

To that end, an NFL source indicated that York and Baalke already have had initial discussions with fired Denver coach Josh McDaniels. They’ve already interviewed Raiders OC and presumed future HC Hue Jackson.

Other possible interviews: Rams OC Pat Shurmur, NY Jets OC Brian Schottenheimer and former Ravens coach Brian Billick."

I could care less, it'll take Bowlen off the hook for some of the money he owes him.

Bowlen doesn't owe McDaniels anything after the recent buy out.

It's no surprise McDaniels will be a head coach again in the near future. But this quickly would be surprising. I've said I thought he might head up a college team before heading back to the pros, but I could be off.

why has billick never gotten another job?

Because he was one of the most overrated coaches in the history of football. Despite winning a championship, his fanbase hated him and a lot of his players did too. He won because Ozzie Newsome stacked the defense with talent for Marvin Lewis to coach and gave him a top back in Jamal Lewis behind a stud OL to run the ball and allow Trent Dilfer to caretake the offense. The guy was hired as an offensive genius and said in his inital presser, "If I know one thing, it's quarterbacks." He then petitioned Newsome to get Scott Mitchell, Tony Banks, Dilfer (who he ran off after a Super Bowl title), Elvis Grbac, Chris Redman and Kyle Boller before Newsome went out and got Steve McNair.

Billick is arrogant (although quite articulate and a good TV/radio guy) and a prick - it would be so hard for me to root for the Broncos if he were hired I don't know if I could take it. My opinion of Brian Billick makes Jhns, go_broncos and Jesterhole look like McDaniels fanboys.

well it hasn't happened yet and I really doubt they'd hire him, plus a twitter feed doesn't seem that reliable anyway, but no doubt it would be funny. He could have a tshirt printed that said, "I Went To London with The Broncos and All I Did Was Switch Teams to the 49ers" ;D

indeed they are....just look at this quote from a fine fellow on the 49ers board.

"That will be the last straw.

I willl no longer be a 49ers fan if he is hired. How long can you be faithful to a girl who lies, cheats, and is a total *****?"

they are very excited to have him. :sunshine:

Lol man I hope that's going to happen! I can see it now... He's going to trade Wiliis to denver for orton to sign Mike Vrabel. Then trade away Crabtree for a 4th round pick to get Gaffney. Vernon Davis and Frank Gore are gonners for Ricard Quinn and some average RB. And their first round draft pick will be... CAM NEWTON!!!!

ROFL! Yea that is some funny stuff right there .

Thats great. One of the few teams we beat was denver. I kept quiet about the Baalke hire. But if we lose Harbaugh to Miami and hire some hasbeen who couldn't hack it I will stop following this team.

Well................ atleast he can't trade the 49ers QB's off here. Cause know one wants them. Crabtree good bye if he comes. You saw what happen to BM.

I dont care what daniels was trying to do in denver. He gutted that team and they wont be any good for a long time. I dont know 1 bronco fan who doesnt hate the man with a passion. And we want this guy in our organization?? Hell no!!!!

Josh McDaniels is Tosh.O

Plus Josh would trade all the 49ers picks for the next 3 years to get the great Tim Tebow. WTF

At least McDaniels already has a head start on "looking at the film".

Every fanbase in the NFL looking for a HC knows what a failure McD is and doesn't want him anywhere near their team. Some don't want him for his losing record and failed system. Some because they don't want their star players shipped off and clubhouse in turmoil. Some because they think he's a cheat and always will be.

Any owner would be commiting franchise suicide by signing McD as a HC, or even OC, which leaves just one possible team; the post-mortum Raiders.

Don't forget Crabtree and Gore. Crabtree is a headcase, and Gore is a retard / terrible fullback / kick returner.

Here's an idea guys. Maybe it's just a way for them to see what really happened with that Spygate2. :)

A month ago an army of lawyers couldn't have made Josh say one word about the whole thing.

Now. . . they fly him out there for an "interview" and let him spill the beans like he did with us about spygate1.

brilliant I say!

"Former Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels would be high on San Francisco's list, as the team heard repeated positive sentiment about him through the hiring process. However, sources close to McDaniels believe it's virtually certain he wouldn't go to the 49ers given their current front-office structure, and it's far more likely he would wind up with the Atlanta Falcons as their offensive coordinator should Mike Mularkey land as a head coach elsewhere."

ESPN's Mike Sando reports that ex-Broncos coach Josh McDaniels is not interested in the 49ers' head coaching vacancy.
San Francisco apparently doesn't have enough elite skill players to trade away for McDaniels' liking, particularly with Frank Gore's value down after a fractured hip. McDaniels had one of the worst head coaching stints in NFL history with the Broncos. The 49ers are much, much better off without him.
