Thanks.

There wasnt too much to take away from that thread though, especially given that they havent delivered a cap yet.

With reduced rookie salaries and the push for an 18 game schedule you can bet it won't be less. It may not be much bigger but it won't be smaller.

I can't tell if this thread is a joke or not. You said you read a figure but then you said you know there is no cap.

Just trying to save face?

Why the heck would I "try to save face" with a subject where I openly asked for information?

Well, I found out that nobody else knows anything either.

I was hoping that eddie mac would know about the 16.7 figure, but oh well.

It's difficult to know where you are in relationship to something that doesn't exist.

Was the 16.7 figure from Miss Cleo's website?

I saw we signed Manny Ramirez this week, he is going to be a expensive guy to have in the lineup and probably a cancer in the locker room.

The cap was introduced for the 1994 season and was initially $34.6 million. Both the cap and the floor were adjusted annually based on the league's revenues, and they increased each year. In 2009, the final capped year under the current CBA, the cap was $128 million per team, while the floor was 87.6% of the cap. Using the formula provided in the league's collective bargaining agreement, the floor in 2009 was $112.1 million. The salary floor percentage would have increased 1.2% per year until it reached 90% of the cap in 2011. Given these figures you can estimate that it would follow the same trend of 1.2% increase.

That whole thing talks about the floor only. The 1.2% increase is the difference between the the cap and the floor. It has nothing to do with what the cap might end up being.

We better hope they don't extend the season to 18 games.

This has G - R - E - E - D written all over it -- and it will destroy the NFL.

You think the injuries are bad now? just wait.

I agree...some teams have a hard enough time filling the stadium with the way the economy is. Why do they think making an 18 game schedule will do anything to help that?
