Hi fellas.

I've been reflecting on the 2010 season and the thought suddenly hit me last night. Jay Cutler got the last laugh!

He was ostracized by your head coach and fan base, and ridiculed last year during a tough season. But there is no question he is undeniably talented. Cutler is the anti-Orton. The cream always rises to the top and that's where Cutler is...the top.

The Bears won their division and are the #2 seed in the playoffs. It was because of Cutler, who slashed his interceptions by 10, raised his QB rating 10 points and averaged a full yard per attempt better. Certainly Chicago's running game and lackluster receiving corps didn't do him any favors.

Jay Cutler escaped Denver and is in the playoffs.

A place the Broncos haven't visited for five long, long years now.

He got the last laugh.

Not McDaniels. Not Orton. Not Bowlen. Not Shanahan, who is coaching a joke franchise and starting Rex Grossman. And certainly not Broncos fans.

Jay Cutler doesn't need any of those clowns. He has TRIUMPHED.

lets stay tuned to see how he performs during the stretch run when the game is on the line.

You're an idiot.

While it is true that Todd Collins won a game for duh bears vs the worst team in the NFL this year they would not be the #2 seed without Cutler. They were a team who put away the patsy teams and beat a couple playoff teams. I don't see them getting past Atlanta or winning the SB without a perfect game in all 3 phases but Cutler is a big reason that team is the 2 seed this year in the NFC.

Knox is very exciting and has a lot of upside but none of their other WR's would start on any other team, Olsen is overrated, Hester is really just a ST'er 40 catches for 400 yards, Knox has 50 catches for 900+, Cutler saved Bennets career.

I was a huge Cutler fan...and I still am to a lesser extent. However, Cutler is frustrating to watch. He has all the tools...talent dribbles off his fingers...but, he's way too cocky.

He's like the kid that listens to all the hype about him being great...and so, he really think's he's great...and therefore doesn't continue to improve.

If he ever figures out...that throwing off you back foot and not pointing your front foot..is something he might want to correct. LOOK OUT!

But, he's 5yrs in...and hasn't ever tried. That's disapointing!

I'd rather have a kid like Tebow. In my opinion, he's an equal talent, just way more raw that Cutler....but, he'll work at it...He'll keep coming. Tebow is "game"...if you know what I mean. Cutler just doesn't quite get it...he spends too much time believing the hype.

I don't think you understand (big surprise there)... 33 wins by the division ties them for 3rd strongest division. With eight divisions that puts them well ahead of the mean and makes them by definition a strong division.

This isn't subjective... it's flat out facts.

AFC South, West and NFC West were the only "weak" divisions this year

He did win in this situation even if you don't believe he had anything to do with the Bears winning. He got away from McDaniels and this sinking ship and is now on a division winning team. We are picking 2nd overall and probably won't be good any time soon. There isn't a way to spin it that says he didn't win the trade.

So after all your arguments that it wasn't Cutler's fault that the interceptions he threw in Denver cost them games because of the defense...

he goes to Chicago, gets short fields on the regular, gets bailed out by his defense constantly, and now he's the reason the Bears won the division and are in the playoffs.

Let's go very slowly, and I'll try to use small words so you might be able to follow a conversation for once in your life (did I already blow it with "conversation"?).

Weak: Of a low standard; performing or performed badly

Divisions and wins

1. NFCS 36
1. AFCE 36
3. NFCN 33
3. AFCN 33
5. NFCE 32
6. AFCW 31
7. AFCS 30
8. NFCS 26

An 8-8 record for all four teams is average and puts an average win total for a division at 32. Below average would fit your weak definition. The NFCN's win total is above average and does in no way shape or form fit the term "weak", and they're also supplying 2 playoff teams.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=clayton_john&id=5972554

"Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears

Analysis: The combination of Cutler's arm and Mike Martz's play calling helped to win the NFC North. But Cutler threw too many interceptions (16) to advance him back into the elite group he was a member of while with the Broncos in 2008.
Chance of being elite: 95 percent"

He gives Tebow a 5% chance?...not nice

"Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos

Analysis: Everyone knows Tebow is a work in progress. In his second start, the Broncos let him throw screens and passes out of the pocket, but it could take a lot of time to smooth out his mechanics and accuracy.

hey um does going to the playoffs with the Bears qualify Jay as elite? because didn't Rex Grossman take them to a Superbowl or something? ;D

Smartassery aside, Jay has skills but like anyone he needs other players on a team in a team sport to help the team win. He's done okay. Someday he can be like Brett Favre with records for interceptions, an asshat agent (oh wait he's got him already) as well as a SB ring and photos of his junk on the web. Truth is Jay like Brett can be fun to watch and both have some skills, but they are both drama queens too so it's a matter of reigning that in and keeping the focus on the game where it belongs. We'll see. Best of luck to him, but better luck to our team because of the teams who wear colors with orange and blue ours is clearly the better one. ;D

Yeah, especially in down the stretch, at clutch time when they needed them to get to the playoffs.

Against Phily 26 pts allowed
Against Det and their 3rd string QB 20 points allowed.
Against NE 36 points (but that can be forgiven, bad weather and NE after all)
Against Min, 3rd string QB drafted as a WR, 14 points
Against NYJ 34 points (24 in the first half)

Yeah, the D carried him there. When it mattered most the D were nowhere to be seen, yet the team won 4 of those 5 (Min was not a lot of points, but it was a lot considering the opposition, and despite the very good Min D, Cutler put a boatload of points).

So when did the D show up down the stretch? Once the game didn't matter. And yes, the O looked bad in that game, but they used the same offensive strategy they used the first game (exact same hot reads), and obviously were not willing to give anything away for the playoffs, and why should they.

So yes Cutler haters, he did nothing to help get the team there. When it mattered most he was nowhere to be seen against good and excellent Ds, despite mediocre WRs, lousy OL, and a running game that relies on the threat of Cutler passing.

Now that McD is gone and many of the moronic apologists have been silenced by reality, they are grasping at any straw to validate their incredibly poor assessment of McD.

Cutler lost the game that could have kept the Packers out of the playoffs. The defense nearly carried him to a win, but Cutler threw points away that cost them a chance to win.
True, he made some poor decisions, but the team also decided they were not going to show them anything in the O. The offense was the same one they used prior to the bye week. They did not even change the hot reads from their prior game against GP. Is it any wonder they had so many sacks and were able to easily predict the routes? That being said, the last ball was not a bonehead play by Cutler. In fact he normally hits those without much effort (his problem is poor decision making, which has shown dramatic improvement), but the ball slip from his hands...it happens...but not too often to him in that context. Again, it is incredibly simplistic to judge the offense on a game that did not matter, and in which they decided not to risk game planning for, and instead keep it simple.

What will be interesting will be his first playoff game. He has not had one of those in nearly a decade. Will he continue making good decisions as he had in the second half of this season, or will the pressure revert him back to taking risks rather than bidding his time for the right time?

Especially Pat. If we had had a good and strong GM, McD's ego would have been kept in check, and this would have been a much better team today.

I'm still not sold on Tebow. I like his grit, but I just don't know if he will be able to develop his game to be a top tier QB. A player's strong will can only take him so far, and at this elite level of play, skills are important. Clearly, Tebow needs to develop further. That being said, I would rather we don't draft a QB, and would like to see the team give him some time to develop. In for a penny in for a pound.

The cream always rises to the top and that's where Cutler is...the top. ...

I think it is pretty obvious Cutler knows football. He came in to work with McDaniels for a little bit that first offseason and came to the conclusion: "I need to get the f out of dodge." He got out and went to a good team. We became the second worst team in the league.

I'm sure Cutler is happy with the way it went down. I doubt he cares that the McDaniels fans don't like him.

I am sure he is happy. He is a middle of the road QB who gets to ride the coattails of a top notch defense. I'd be happy, too. Of course, his putrid performance in the Packers game is a sign that the gravy train may be coming to an end.

He can cry into his piles of cash. Poor Jay.

I'm sure the fact that he is on a team good enough to carry him makes it so that he lost the trade. That makes sense...

Had they kept Cutler and the offense intact, and instead used all of those resources on the defense- which was the obvious solution to everybody outisde of Josh McDaniels, Brian Xanders, Poops, Dagmar, and tsiguy- they would currently be a young, explosive offense with much more talent on defense. Say a perennial 10-12 win team with huge potential, and McDaniels would still have a job.

McD should never, ever get another head coaching job for what he did (in my opinion his personnel moves rival Millen's as the worst in NFL history). This is a QB driven league and he traded a very good one because they butted heads (due to McD trying to get his boy Cassel). An absolute joke. First it was that Cutler couldn't play well against a good team down the stretch in a season.

Then it became Cutler couldn't even make the playoffs, let alone win a division.

Then is was that he couldn't win a game in the playoffs.

So now you have backed all the way up to Cutler being unable to make a superbowl his first season in a new system, with limited talent around him offensively?

What game are YOU watching? Sure ain't the Bears-Seahags game.

1) Babineaux dropped one

2) Later in the game Cutler overthrows his receiver right near a Shehags DB. Williams likely catches that one.

3) Cutler blindsided and loses the football. Fortunately, a Bear recovers that one. Still a possible lost fumble if not for luck.

Is he playing terrible? No. The fact he's playing behind a lousy O-Line and doing well is a plus for Cutler. Most of his throws have been on the money. But you can't ignore the good fortune he's also enjoying in this game.

I won't even quote people who look at division championships as significant. I see that adjective as meaning momentous or extremely important. Division championships just aren't because only Superbowls matter. NFL has always been the sport where you win it all are your year was crap.

Now being out of it so soon like Broncos have been is downright pathetic. So yeah as of now if you want to play scoreboard go ahead and annoint Cutler as some sort of winner. Broncos can still come back and get scoreboard on him for real later. Many seasons to come and games vs Cutler at some point will occur.

Broncos can still hope for some of the players or picks in the Cutler trade helping us get back on top. Orton may fetch something, who knows. I see it all as a big picture anyways. It's all the stuff mcdaniels did to us we have to hope we can make work out. I think we can.

I think we can use that pick from Miami this yr to get a really good player. We can trade Orton somehow to maybe snag another good player. I have faith the Broncos will come out on top of Cutler and the Bears in the end.

McDaniels is no longers a bronco and I don't really see him as part of it anymore until he resurfaces on another team.

Then I will hate him and enjoy watching his teams fail hoping to see him squirm. To each is own. If you all want to annoint Cutler the winner over mcdaniels that is fine. I still feel though Broncos can come out swinging. We won't be down forever.

Really? So if he loses the NFC Title game, and we're 4-12, we somehow got the last laugh over him? Is that your actual argument?

If the Packers win the game next week by 50 points, I have an idea who got the last laugh and I'll give you a hint, its not us.

"last laugh" Cutler winning in playoffs, mcdaniels out of work, if that isn't last laugh what is? Seriuosly, get off hoodie's jock he needs to take a leak.

Watch the last TD Cutler makes when he runs to the corner of the end zone. The fans all extend their arms and hands toward him for a high-five or any kind of recognition from him. The asshat doesn't even make eye contact with them. Plain and simple he's just a punk...

I would say damn and go back to enjoying the Superbowl party. What's the big deal? All I said is I'm not worried Bears won't win.

Yeah, well... they won the divisional playoff game (the thing they needed to do today in order to be in the NFCCG and possibly the SB).

Maybe you should scan through my posts. I may have told someone to take a swim in a trash can. Maybe I should be banned?

You'd have been fine for telling "someone" to take a swim in a trash can. Where you ran into trouble was telling his wife to join him for that swim... everyone knows family smack is strictly off-limits here and your brief vacation was not without justification.

He can have the last laugh all he wants.....Denver got the first (and only) Tebow.

Much rather Denver be where they are now than had Cutler and McD got along from day one.

If they had, Denver would very likely be coming off consecutive 8-8 seasons, no playoffs, no Tebow, no #2 pick and the only significant 'upgrade' on D would be Dan Williams......And McD would likely still be coaching.

Laugh away Jay Cut...Denver is much better off without you.

He can be an ass hole all he wants. He's not paid to be the fans best friend. He's paid to produce on the field. I thought Elway was bit of an ass hole but produced on the field which is all that counts.

No my argument is life is long and you can't get last laugh just yet. There is many seasons and games left to be played. The fact anyone could fathom calling something like last laugh, as in the final verdict, after 2 years must not have much experience in life.

Just like a Bobo who if not a total loser is at least a very late bloomer.

None of those fans give a ****.

They love Cutler right now.

Yes, but as Urlacher said this week, the Bears are a few players away from being a perennial playoff contender. He's right and Jay Cutler is a very big part of that strength and continuity.

Jay Cutler is in the final 4, while the guy who traded him got fired midway through his 2nd season.

The laugh has been had.

Yes you can.

All the other participants of the Cutler trade are losers.

McDaniels is looking for a job, Orton is going to be riding the pine, and Bowlen just hired Herm Fox.

Cutler WON.

Good game for Cutler. Next week's game, though, will be the center of trash talk between GB and Chicago for a decade. Hard to oversell it. Seeing as it's my adopted city of the moment I'd love to see the Bears make the Super Bowl. City lost it's collective **** when the Blackhawks went all the way, can't imagine what will happen if the Bears can do it.

It's what Denver can do with the picks we got, Mcdaniels no longer in my equation and I stated that earlier. Not my fault you pansy asses give up on the Broncos so soon. We can still use picks and players we got from that deal. Wise up and see the big picture. The day anyone leaves the Broncos I could care less about them. If like some players, Kennisson, Cutler want to bash the team on the way out they will be on my **** list forever. I won't admit Cutler gets last laugh on the Broncos until we have exhausted all chances.

The thread was Cutler has last laugh. I don't see that as Cutler vs Mcdaniels. I could care less about him. It's all about Broncos getting last laugh and we will when Tebow kicks ass, is a leader, we get a good 2nd round pick from that Marshall trade, he kicks ass, breaks Cutlers back, end of story.

It ain't ovah yet.

Seriously, you're going to say Elway and Cutler have similar traits, this just might be the worst post I've read on the OM in quite sometime. Do you ever think before you post? Please give me some proof where Elway was ever an a-hole to the fans of Denver.

They have very similar skill sets , I don't know either of them personally and about never believe anything on how someone is portrayed in the media so I won't even begin to guess what kind of human beings they are.

I figure both are ok guys , who have done things they regret , like everyone else.

With Tebow & all of the other resources the Cutler trade netted the Denver Broncos. Theoretically, Orton could still be traded for a mid rounder who turns out to be a perennial pro bowler.

History will be the judge, not 2010.

Congrats to Jay. You now have as many playoff wins in the 2000's as Shanahan.....And one more than the Chiefs have in their last 7 attempts. Hilarious!
