6'6", 288 ...anyone watching him tonight? He's a last half of the first, early 2nd round guy from what I read so far.

He's ragdolling that left tackle.

The good thing about these kids of pro players is that if they make it this far, they tend to contribute at the next level in some way.

That D.J. Williams guy is a tight end right? He looks like something we need, a pass catching TE. HE would be Tebow's best friend. Anyone know anything about him?

Great logic! So we should avoid all QBs from Florida, RBs from Penn State because some guys who's got nothing to do with him failed in NFL.

Hey, why don't we go after the QB from Michigan, because they have rich history at the position... :kiddingme

I know the game is only minutes underway, but Mallett is looking outstanding. As sharp as Luck last night, if not better. With Luck/Mallett/Newton potentially coming out, hopefully we can get some QB hungry teams to bid/bite on our #2.

Craig "Ironhead" Hayward, one of the league's greatest fullbacks. Played for the Saints in the 90's.

His old man had the biggest and hardest head in the league, plus he was a beast on the old Tecmo Super Bowl.

I think that Aaron Gibson guy for the Lions in the early 2000's finally beat him out for biggest helmet.

He reminds me a lot of Cutler, tho. For every great throw he'll make a decision that just leaves you flabbergasted. His football IQ isn't terribly high.

Heyward has all the physical tools, but the mental ability is what people are questioning. If he can put that all together, he'll be a great pro. He is one of the ideal 5 techniques in this draft.

01-04-2011, 08:27 PM
I think were in a great position for this draft, QB's always get hyped as the next great thing as we get closer to the draft. Luck is for sure gone at #1 but with Newton, Mallett, and Gabbert all in the mix someone is hopefully going to feel the need to jump the Bills to get the guy they want. Thankfully, this appears to be a stronger QB draft than last years even, too bad no Suh though.

Well, glad the "I wish they could both lose by 50" game is done. Tressel is a sweater vest wearing turd who couldn't man up and suspend the players that needed to be out for this game tonight VS the one coach anywhere that I will root against no matter who is playing against him....douchbag #1 Petrino. Nice to see him looking like someone pee'd in his Gatorade. OK, sorry...had to get that off my chest. Hayword looked fantastic out there tonight, definitely didn't do anything to hurt his draft stock. Don't think he'll last until the top of the second, that said....I'd jump at picking him up if he was still there.

Heyward is an absolute stud. I would spend our #34 on him in a heartbeat...if he's still there (I doubt it). Hell, I'd consider trading all the way out from #2 to 15 or so...if we could get a booty for it...and then take Heyward at #15. I don't see him being any type of drop off from Fairley and Dareus. The kid is a stud and well grounded!!!

No, they sold awards (big 10 championship rings, golden pants awards and sportsmanship award from the rose bowl if I remember correctly)that they received as well as signatures. Pryor at least then bought tattoos with some of the money they got. Somewhere around $2500 for Pryor I think. Not sure what the others got.

I'd do the same... but we won't have the #34 pick. We get the higher pick in the first round, but we'll get the lower pick in the 2nd round as the other 4-12 teams will pick in front of us.

He was projected that high before the season started, but a lot of people cooled on him since then. I think his ceiling is a Top 15-20 round pick. He'll probably go in that 15-30 range, IMHO. It isn't unlikely he would fall out of the first, especially if more talent declares.

Nobody is set in stone until all the juniors declare. If 20 juniors with higher grades declare, then he could have easily dropped into the top of the second before last night.

I think Heyward is not quite the player he was last night, but not quite the player who was not as dominant in the Big Ten this year. Personally, I did not have him in my top 10 potential DL coming out before he played with a vengeance last night. Now, I need to regrade him hopefully after I see him do the Senior bowl Practices in a few weeks.

Gabbert?

Gabbert has a very good arm, too. Mallett's is better. Gabbert is more mobile than Mallett, and appears to be smarter. It's been pointed out to me tha Mallett has made terrible decisions in big games (Alabama this year) but I didn't see that game. He didn't see the lineman drop into coverage last night when he threw the Int. that ended the game.
