The following is a complete list of teams who have allowed more yards and points than the 2010 Broncos:

Rk Tm Year G W L T W-L% PF PA PD Tot TO
1 DET 2009 16 2 14 0 0.125 262 494 -232 6274 23
2 DET 2008 16 0 16 0 0.000 268 517 -249 6466 20
3 TAM 1986 16 2 14 0 0.125 239 473 -234 6333 32
4 MIN 1984 16 3 13 0 0.188 276 484 -208 6352 29
5 BAL 1981 16 2 14 0 0.125 259 533 -274 6793 30

since the league went to 16 games, there have only been 5 teams worse than the 2010 Broncos. Heck, even the 2008 Broncos were better, in both yards and points.

Haha gross. I can't believe it was worse than the 2008 defence.

Hopefully the new regime can draft some good defense, otherwise maybe after 2012 we will look back and reminisce on how much better the 2010 defense was....

Another reason why all of those folks wanting to give up draft picks to get another QB are certifiable.

We just have to score 40 points a game and it will be okay.

Glass half full post:

-It's really freaking hard to give up that many yards and that few amount of points.

-Throw those 6 teams in a playoff bracket, and the 2010 Broncos have a first round bye and home field advantage.

-The QB for that '86 Tampa team was a raw, mobile, left handed running QB who eventually figured it out went to the Hall of Fame!

-Okay, that Baltimore team didn't turn it around the next year, either. But their ineptitude enabled them to get the first pick in the '83 draft so they could take one of the greatest QBs ever, John Elway!

Okay, I'm out of glass half full stuff for this epic fail of a defense.

LOL no doubt!!

in my mind the 1993-1994 defenses are the worst of all broncos teams

Good thing McDaniels got right to work building up the defense.

Rebuilding two units is always easier than rebuilding one unit.

it's a good thing mcdummy traded away a decent QB and WR so he could ignore rebuilding the defense the last two years

You mean Marshall? The guy we got 2 2nd round picks for and replaced him for pennies with the guy who lead the NFL in receiving this season?

You guys need to let this **** go, it's dull.

Great.

9 months of reruns. Awesome.

I would think that at some point even the bitter folks would get tired of being so bitter, but I guess I'd be wrong.

He traded the Qb and picked Robert Ayers with one of the picks. There are so many things to be angry at McDaniels for, it went very wrong in the end, but use facts in your argument and perhaps you'll get a decent discussion.

of course he had to draft another QB instead of using it another defensive player

we can do this all day if you'd like?

And were missing the NFL's sack leader.

Yeah, it's been depressing. I had a flashback to the Browncos this morning. Or was it a premonition. Do you think it's possible we hire Mangini as DC and bring in a bunch of retread DLineman from Cleveland?

So it turned out even then?

I wanted him to fix the D, he tried with the DL in FA, it hasn't worked out. I have no problem with McD getting rid of Cutler, more than most are happy we got rid of him. I'm sorry you are still upset he got rid of the frown cannon that was so professional he was out drinking in Denver the night before a home game against one of our biggest rivals in 2008 that if we had won we would have been in the playoffs, but I'm not.

Let's agree to remove the sand from your vagina and hope the new HC and GM recognize we need our D fixed, NOW.

oh yeah....injuries killed the defense this season.

It's too bad McDummy was unable to aquire enough quality depth on defense the last two years. (looks at draft day again)

I don't have a problem with getting rid of cutler if they couldn't get along. That doesn't excuse him for the way he tried to fix the defense. IMO, the trade of cutler and everyone else on offense only made the task of building the defense more difficult.

in the end, the loss of culter was beginning of the end for mcdaniels.

Kind of like the loss of Doom on the first day of training camp was the beginning of the end for the 2010 Broncos.

The last 2 weeks, I thought the defense played a lot better against 2 pretty good offenses. I'm not saying they were good, just improved. Seemed like they were being more aggressive with play calling than the first 14 games.

Int and forced fumble. Of course we dropped the ints except for one and the fumble bounced right into the lineman's hands. That's how it's been for us all year this year.

See, I don't mind trading away Cutler and Marshall. What I mind is using the picks to eventually draft their replacements, as in Tebow and Thomas, and then using a high pick on a RB. 3 1st round picks used on offensive players.

Like I've been saying, Martindale needs to go back to being the backers coach and bring in a hard nosed 3-4 DC who has experience building up a DL.

not for nothing but our best defensive player was injured in TC...i wonder how many of the teams on the list have that built in excuse

Yeah, that was unfortunate.

So was the Clady injury, which he's spent all season dealing with.

So was Dawkins and Goodman each missing nearly half the season.

So was Moreno and Buckhalter both going down on the first day of training and struggling all year.

So was Decker and Thomas both getting hurt early in camp and missing most of the preseason.

So was Harris getting hurt early in the season.

So was Ayers breaking his foot and setting himself back weeks.

And just when guys like Mays and Gronkowski start producing - bang - away they go to injured reserve.

And then there were the -ahem- off the field issues. The McKinley suicide. DJ getting a DUI. Fields arrested on a gun charge. Cox arrested for sexual assault.

Plus videogate.

A season from hell.

It's going to be interesting to see what % of the players on this team are around a year from now.

I'd say around 30%.
