Just when I thought Davis was learning his lesson about consistency at the HC position...

i think that formaldehyde they are using to preserve crazy Al's decaying body is also corroding his brain... but i'm alright with this decision. the more chaos in OAK, the better for us. :D

Hey man, I agree there. I love it when the Raiders suck.

I'm just blown away by the constant turnover there. I mean, ****, how many games did they win last year? And you fire the guy after he sweeps the division?

Wow. Just wow. What else can you say?

That would be done of them. DO IT, AL!

His option can't be that much money and Cable has done a good job there. Didn't they go 6-0 in the division?

Cable is no where near a 'good coach'...But I agree with you that this is a good thing. These dumb**** owners who think coach swapping every two years just don't get it.

he's got them going in right direction.

5-0 in the division, pretty good

how Norv still has a job and Cable gets fired is beyond me

gotta wonder if crazy Al thinks he can duplicate Shanny's mojo against him, only in reverse. i wonder if he thinks hiring McD would be hiring a guy who is supremely motivated to beat the Broncos first and foremost. somebody should tell crazy Al that Bowlen has too much class to stiff McD on any money he was owed. or better yet... don't tell crazy Al anything. imagine how much damage McD could do running things in OAK? he'd have to trade or cut EVERY one of their current players in pursuit of "quality, high character type guys".

Wow this is surprising I thought he was doing a pretty good job for Oakland. If Denver is looking for cheap options only then Cable wouldn't be a bad alternative...

Stupid decision as usual for Al.

He'd be a damn fine OL coach here...1000 times better than Clancy Barone.

Not sure what more than 8-8 Al Davis expects.

I loved Cable at CU. Dirty Al probably wants Fisher.

To be a stop gap + a boat load of picks until he could draft his QBOTF a year later?......Yes.

It's not that hard people.....I'm surprised how few people understand this.

Oakland makes no sense. But I suppose that's part of their charm.

They've got a lot of talent actually. Just need a QB and some WRs and they would be scary.

Consider the Source... Adam Schefter & Mike Lombardi... Neither has access to Raider headquarters.

The question with the Raiders is whether Cable really is a good HC...or...perhaps their coordinators were doing the real work?

I know that it's been reported that Al...was considering making the OC the headcoach.

Cable will be confirmed as HC in Oakland at some point right around the Super Bowl, in an attempt to try to make the Raiders seem relevant. The announcement will be made after numerous candidates are interviewed for position and refused to take it. The last two interviewed candidates will be Art Shell and a guy named Leon Ponitzki. Ponitzki will thank the Raiders for the generous offer, but will stay on at Inner City Hellhole HS as the secondary coach.

I think that cable has earned another year. I would be a bit pissed if they let him go after sweeping the AFCW and getting us back to respectability.

LOL If cable is let go the front runner for the job is Hue Jackson. This is where all the speculation started in the first place.

This is how I feel. Right when they start figuring out right from wrong, they take the leader and plan to can him. This would be wonderful if they think they can corral McDaniels and hire him on. Oh better days are ahead for the Broncos!

Yeah, Greasy Al and his minions threw out that same line when Schefter broke the story that Art Shell was going to get fired. How'd that turn out?
