What a freakin tool this guy is! If you saw his post game interview, you can see that he clearly looks like a fish out of water. He said putting Orton back in the game after he threw 2 ints and a fumble was the best for the team while the reporter was pretty much calling him out saying normally teams try to find a spark by changing QB's when one sucks. You can absolute tell why he was on McDaniels staff because he is an absolute kiss azz Yes man!

ross tucker said he was a very, very good RB coach in buffalo when he was there. just an fyi, hes not just a "yes man" but a competent coach at what he is good at. which is apparently not being a HC.

He achieved a lifelong dream so good for him, but yeah, he's pretty clearly a placeholder out of his league.

He's just some guy who was put in an untenable situation.
Although if it was his idea not to take a look and see what you have or don't have with tebow, then that sucks.

He isn't a head coach, nor did he apply to be one.
Give the guy a break.

Exactly. Not like he set out this year to be a HC. Probably noone on this staff is back next year. WHo really cares at this point
Can't really blame him nor should be we be so critical of him for how the team is performing

Think of it this way,
If the head guy shows all world levels of incompetence, the odds are his 3rd or 4th in charge isn't going to be any better.
Everyone needs to prep for a new regime and a top 3 pick.
This will be over soon enough...

There is some truth to the statement, though. McDaniels never really brought in any coaching talent to surround himself with. When the idea of firing McDaniels got serious the main thought I had was who in the hell was going to be the interim coach. I'd wager the majority of people here had to look up who the hell Studesville was in the first place.

If we still had Hillis then none of this would have happened! Someone has to drop the H bomb in every thread!
studesville was the running back coach of the worst rushing team in the nfl of coarse he sucks,

If I wouldn't have known that McDaniels was fired, I wouldn't have believed it based on the playcalling today. I saw nothing indistinguishable between McDaniels and McCoy's gameplan today.

I'm glad we have him, because it makes our draft pick possibilities better. That said, he's obviously not cut out for this...he's clueless about the need to look at Tebow and the other youngsters because he's playing for what he probably thinks is a shot at this job, but Bowlen will never hire him unless he's completely off his rocker by this point.

I think this speaks volumes to how good McD was as a HC. He would have won this game with his scrub players. Any other coach just can't get it done with the same scrubs!

If Bowe hadn't fumbled that onside kick, then Shanny would be coaching a Cutler-lead team in to the playoffs.....
That single play changed the history of our franchise....

I'm being repetitive, but how in the name of all that's holy does Stude keep trotting Orton out there in the second half? Orton didn't even want to go back in, it looked like he was ready to cry, but Stude kept putting Orton back in.

I know right...like Bowlen finding Shanny who lucked into TD while he had Elway and Sharpe, etc...was all blind luck and an aberation and we're really meant to be this ****ty team we see now.
That's why I think they need an entire overhaul...Bowlen's got to admit it's rebuild time not just reload time.

I like him, he may not be ready to be a head coach but I just watched his presser and they sat there for 20 minutes and rattled his cage about the players especially Orton and he would not throw any of them under the buss.
He is a little optimistic which is good I suppose. He said he thought the D played well and I thought so too until the 3 qrt but good D's don't fold in the 4th.
I wish him well, whether it's here or there. Like I said I don't know if he is ready for H.C. but all around no nonsense kinda guy.

Or the -78 point diffferential that was being hidden by the 8-8 record. That team sucked, bad. The record was an illusion created by barely winning and getting blown out in most losses.

No, certainly not HC material. Still very much a positional coach & developed some damn good backs in the past. IMO its an indictment on McD's selection of assistants. More specifically Wink & McCoy. Its apparent Bowlen & Ellis didn't feel either one of those two were competent enough to assume HC duties & Studesville was the best they had.

Ya don't want Kubes either, they need to look outside the box. Lombardi's thinking was Elway & Kubiak would reunite. I think/ hope he's just throwing it out there and seeing if it sticks. Just say No ! I would way rather have Harbaugh.

Makes no sense to fire Shanny, and then two years later hire Shanny light.
As far as Studesville goes, who cares? The team was horrible without him calling the shots, it's horrible with him calling the shots. Three more weeks and he's relegated to a trivia question footnote in the darkest era of modern Bronco football.

That's Lombardi's opinion. It's pretty much the entire subject of the article he wrote where he compared the situation here with the one in cleveland under Belichick. That Bowlen fired McD because he was uncomfortable with the change from the way the team had been run for so long. He admitted that he doesn't have any inside info, just how he sees it.
It wouldn't suprise me though, especially with all of the fans pining for the good ol' days of Shanahan's teams. I'm not sure how much of a real cross-section of Denver's fans' opinions this boards is (meaning that the fanbase as a whole may want Kubiak way more than those of us here do).

dick lebeau you incompetent idiot! No man. That's not what he meant.
The coaches we had in place that were "let go" were replaced with inferior talent.
The Broncos, seemingly, are ran by committee at this point....he has to consult with the committee before answering certain questions or making decisions. After seeing this mornings press conference. Its understandable at this point.
