or raffled it off to fans

A positive: Studesville probably won't call 8 straight pass plays after Moreno rips off the longest run of his career to bring his total to 168 yards on the day.

In other words, "I wanted people to show up to the last 4 games." Never mind that it has to do with how crappy this team is and not just the HC.

In lieu of all the more experienced coaches Josh let go, we don't have a lot of options. This season is toast anyways - this is just the interim coach, who cares. Maybe Tebow can get some playing time THIS year.

Bowlen only has himself to blame. McD could have possibly worked out with an experienced, empowered front office in place before the coach and staff were hired. Now this mess instead.

I don't think that's the point. I think the point is that he fulfills the Rooney rule before we head into the off-season, and could therefore hire Gruden (as an example) as soon as the season closes.

That's only if we interview him for the position at the end of the year, right? I admit I don't know the answer to that. But even in that case giving him a quick interview would probably be easier with him being interim

LaMonte connection makes Gruden less likely in Denver
Posted by Mike Florio on December 6, 2010, 8:37 PM EST
Last week, we mused about the possibility that ESPN’s Jon Gruden decided to show a little leg to the “U” in the hopes of sparking some back-channel discussions with the 49ers, Browns, and/or Broncos.

Yes, the Broncos. Gruden has gushed about quarterback Tim Tebow, which would presumably make Gruden interested in adapting the spread offense to the NFL game. (Then again, Gruden gushes about pretty much everyone. Except Derek Anderson.)

But here’s one potential roadblock. Agent Bob LaMonte represents both Gruden and former Broncos coach Josh McDaniels. At a minimum, it would be awkward for the Broncos to negotiate a new deal with LaMonte on behalf of Gruden.

Of course, if the Broncos really want Gruden, it shouldn’t matter.

According to Gruden’s colleagues at ESPN, Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen, early candidates for the permanent job include Vikings interim head coach Leslie Frazier and Air Force coach Troy Calhoun. Per the report, Frazier’s contract with the Vikings expires in early January — unless of course the Vikings hire him to be the permanent head coach before then.

I honestly don't understand why that would be "at a minimum, awkward". So the guys share an agent. Big deal.

And I can't believe some of you believe Lloyd's interview comment about not knowing Studesville. C'mon man. It was obviously a joke.

Frazier is an interesting candidate

I dont see what all the hype with Gruden is
he had average offenses with an elite defense that Dungy built, but yet he was supposed to be the offensive mastermind and qb guru

as far as Calhoun, I know nothing of the guy other than he coaches Air Force

yea gruden's agent is gonna roadblock himself from making more money by getting gruden hired, lol pft lol

Calhoun was an assistant under Shanny, went with Kubiak to Houston, was the OC before becoming the AFA coach.

Minnesota will probably hire Frazier for the permanent job, so I doubt he will be a possibility. I'd rather stick with the 3-4 anyway.

LaMonte will have no loyalties to his canned client. He will want his 10% no matter where it comes from.
