Cassle's stats are the most mis-leading #'s in the game. Watch all of his throws this Sunday, you will see that with a decent QB they would be running away with the division easily with their insane running game. He misses so many open WR's it's sickening. but credit to him, when he misses they usually are sailign OB instead of into the hands of DB's, so I'll give him props there.

Orton has done way more with way less (outside of WR) this season and last. Cassel just tosses it up to Bowe and lets him do all of the dirty work. 2/3s of Cassel's TDs are to Bowe. Compared to 1/3 of Orton's being to Lloyd.

Take away Bowe and Cassel probably isn't doing much this year. Take away Lloyd and Orton could still spread the ball around.

Is that to say that Cassel wouldn't be doing better than Orton with another year under McD and in this offense? I don't know.

How is this even a question?

Orton is more prolific, he's tougher, and, from what I can tell from basic observation, he's a better on the field coach/leader with a better head for the game.

i'd say they are about even. I'd bet if the Broncos and Chiefs swapped QBs the records would be the same and stats would follow suit. Neither is a Game Breaker/Game Changer but both can be good in the right circumstances. They are both Average NFL starting QBs. Neither has ever won a playoff game.

Now as for Value, since Orton didnt get that silly Contract Cassel did, orton all the way.

problem is, Cassell is going against the worst defense in the NFL this week, so Cassell might have better stats, but overall, totally Orton

Neither is better, it's all McDaniels.

What Orton has done WITHOUT the threat of a running game has been nothing short of incredible. Of course, the answer is Orton...

I will take Orton over cassel..But, these type of polls are no use as homers will always pick the player that is currently playing for broncos.
Rivers vs cutler is a prime example..Many picked cutler over rivers.
Once cutler moved to Chicago..he sucks..

I think they're essentially the same palyer, so I lean towards the one with the neckbeard.

Yep. When in doubt, look for a neckbeard and go that direction.*

Orton - leads the NFL in yardage (3,370), right ahead of Rivers, but is 8th in passer rating. 20 TD's and 6 INT's

Cassel - 19th in yardage, but is 4th in rating (trailing only Vick, Brady, and Rivers). 22 TD's and 4 INT's.

Sure, Cassel has a better running game. But I'd still give him the nod over Orton.

I would not shrug off the running game difference so easily. It isn't just a better running game it is the Number 1 running game in the NFL vs. 30th, 174 ypg vs. 79. You can't tell me that isn't worth the 3.7 QB rating difference.

Not likely, I'm pretty sure I could have at least a 90 rating against the Denver Defense.

#1 RB in the NFL is Arian Foster by yards. His QB is 14th in passer rating

The top 5 running teams are KC, NYJ, PHI, JAC, OAK. KC and PHI both have good QB's re: rating, but the other three are not even in the top 15

Three of the top 5 QB's by rating (Rodgers, Rivers, Brady) have virtually non-existent running games.

Dude look at the those teams. Are you telling me that the running game doesn't make Sanchez better than he would be without it? Oak doesn't have a legit QB on their roster, yet their running game makes them at least passable. Gerrard makes dumb decisions which effects his 92 rating but he is completing 66% of his passes, running game at work.

So basically you are saying that Orton isn't as good as Rodgers, Rivers, or Brady. That I agree with, but saying that Cassell having a 3.7 rating advantage with his #1 rushing attack and being sacked 15 times all season makes him better than Orton is off IMO.

Wow... just a few weeks ago people were trashing McDaniels for even considering Cassel. Now we have a real debate going over who's better, him or Orton? Pretty funny.

Bottom line is, I think either would have been good in our system.

WTF are you talking about? You do realize there is a legitimate connection between the 3 QB's as related to Bronco fans....Right?

To expand on the running game making a huge difference in QB performance, which is a little odd seeing as how I was sure that was common/accepted knowledge.

The bottom 10 rushing teams and their QB's rating:
32-SEA-78.9
31-AZ-68.2
30-DEN-96.0
29-IND-90.8
28-DET-78.6
27-DAL-88.2
26-WAS-76.0
25-CIN-78.5
24-NO-92.7
23-GB-97.4

The Aberrations? Kyle Orton, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers

Perhaps the lowest day in Chiefs' history came on January 2, 1983, when they drew 11,902 fans to a season ending 37-13 win over the New York Jets. On that same day, the now defunct Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League attracted 15,000 to their game at Kemper Arena.
