Northwestern is playing Illinois @ Wrigley field. And if you aren't sitting on the west side of the stadium your gonna struggle to see a TD or FG. Because of safety concerns they are playing East to West. On top of that both teams will be on the same sideline. Should be interesting, not because of the the game being played but the situations the game is played in.

The outcry when someone gets hurt in this game will be unreal.

It was poorly planned. Chicago sports radio is a firestorm. It is almost as bad as last year when Cutler threw all those redzone INTs.

Both offenses will be going toward one end zone:

I think it's awesome. Sayers, Butkus, Halas all stepped foot on that hallowed ground.

What are the odds on the first concussion after a player goes into the ivy?

But back then the endzones were only 8 yards deep and they hadn't added new scoreboard/seating.

It will be fun to watch, the cub fans have their panties twisted because they painted the marquee purple.

I think this is what Wrigley does best, it should be a beer garden/Museum hosting concerts and one time events like this and hockey in the winter. As a baseball stadium it is a safety hazzard.

I'm interested in teh whole switiching ends and sides and how big of a cluster the game is going to be. The people I really feel for is the refs that is going to be a joke.

They said if there was a TD returned into that endzone, they would even flip to the other side for the PAT. So they could essentially take down that goalpost, and play with only one. The whole thing is bizarre.

On the bright side, the Wildcats playing without their injured quarterback, Dan Persa can call dibs on Illinois' Nathan Scheelhaase as all-time QB, right? Isn't that how this works? They should also declare no rushing the passer until the defense has counted to "five Mississippi," automatic timeouts for incoming cars and do-overs if anyone gets distracted by their mom calling from the stands.

LOL Great Memories.

Oh, and that arrangement looks like butt. You can't see the field in some areas, some areas are an extra 30+ yards from the field, etc.

I dunno, the old set up wasn't much better.

Maybe worse!

I do love the part about sitting on top of buildings and watching the game though. That'd be amazing.

How does this fare for people who bought tickets for the east endzone?

I think it is a freaking joke, The Big 10 committee should all be fired for waiting until Thursday to make the announcement when they knew the configurations a year ago. 100% chance those in the screwed enzone to 30 yardline will have a class action lawsuit for getting some money back. If they kept it the same, somebody would have gone Gus Ferrotte on their head.

I guess they feel someone could do a fake or botched snap would turn into a two pointer on a throw.

Good point, didn't think about that.
