Healthy Broncos looking to make late push

Here's a word Broncos fans haven't heard much this year: health.

But as the team prepares for Monday night's game at San Diego, it is doing so with the healthiest roster it has had since, well, maybe ever.

Outside linebacker Robert Ayers is on track to practice again today, a day after returning to the field for the first time since breaking a bone in his foot Oct. 10. The only Bronco who won't practice this week and likely will be ruled out for Monday's game is cornerback Andre' Goodman, who continues to be sidelined with a quadriceps injury.

The Broncos, at 3-6, are two games behind division-leading Oakland in the AFC West race. The Chargers are 4-5.

"The record sort of speaks for itself, I don't think anybody is really thrilled with where we're at in that regard," coach Josh McDaniels said. "But I think the attitude is: We have an opportunity to play our best football coming up."

Having a healthy squad certainly plays a part in that. The Broncos have, in recent seasons, struggled in November and December (they were 2-8 in those months last season), while the Chargers have thrived.

"Really what matters is if we're where we want to be at at the end of the year," McDaniels said. "That goal is still attainable."

Said this in another thread, but Lindsay Jones mentioned today earlier in the season she couldn't fit all of the injured players in one tweet and had to use two. And that was without mentioning Doom!

It's not just injuries that have hurt us, it has been KEY players getting hurt. It's not like Nate "Two Hand Touch" Jones got hurt.

This is exactly right. All teams have injuries - but our have really been to key players and even where they've come back, they can't be excepted to be 100% straight away.

I feel like we could have a strong end to this season... we still won't make the playoffs imo, but we won't look completely pathetic through until week 16

That whole injuries dont matter crap is a weak argument. If peyton manning gets injured for the colts, are they winning that division?

Yea, it's hard to imagine being called "healthy" with our best defensive weapon out for the year.

Jarvis Moss has been healthy all season, though!

A cardboard cutout would've been more useful (and less expensive)

He broke his hand at the begining of August. If it's still broken, then yes, that's a great reason to cut him, since clearly he not only sucks at football but is also incapable of healing.

You believe this? It's taken 4 months to heal? Years of mediocrity! Ha!

We should of kept Moss as a blocking dummy.

Yeah. I'm even stunned the guy lasted as long as he did. Wierd!
