For his performance in the Broncos' 49-29 win against Kansas City on Sunday, Kyle Orton will be named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 10.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Two days after tossing a career-high four touchdowns in the Broncos' 49-29 win against Kansas City, it was announced Kyle Ortonhttp://www.denverbroncos.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.denverbroncos.com/team/roster/kyle-orton/51835e42-1635-49f6-8de1-f3fc0e2cbc48/) will be honored as the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 10. It is the second such honor Orton has won in his career and first this season.
Orton finished the game 22-of-34 for 296 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions as the Broncos posted their tied for second-highest point total in team history. He was not sacked for the first time this season en route to a 131.5 passer rating -- the second highest of his career.
The sixth-year quarterback's day began with one of the best opening quarters in team history. Orton became just the second signal-caller in team history to throw three first-quarter touchdown passes to help the Broncos score the game's first 35 points.
It was just the ninth time since 1991 that an NFL player accomplished the feat without throwing an interception. Orton threw for 146 yards in the quarter -- second-best in team history -- to help his team earn the home win against the division-leading Chiefs.
Orton is Denver's 46th AFC Offensive Player of the Week winner since the award was initiated by the NFL in 1984. He also earned the honor last season for his performance in a Week 5 overtime win against New England.

That's great for Orton and the team. The guy is playing so in the zone right now.

Thing is I believe this is the real Broncos that has been trying to emerge.

The gif is a true classic. Josh's play calling was on fire and Orton was his trigger man. Kudos to both

How cool would it be to beat SD Monday night. The West would be out of control with all the division games in December

That GIF is priceless. That game was so awesome. BMarsh saved us. Man,,,, those first 6 games last year were so fun. Hopefully we're like the Chargers now, and we will finish strong. I'd be ecstatic for a 9-7 finish. That record very well will be winner of the AFC West even if it's not us.

That game was Orton's, I don't think Marshall "saved" us at all. That was the most balanced the passing offense was all year.

It's weird that the news doesn't get more posts. To be completely honest I am surprised Brady didn't get it after what he did to the Steelers D.

People are already laughed-out from all the talk of Cutler being a "franchise" quarterback.

Nice to see the O-line grouping we needed to see all year finally get healthy enough to do the job. If they can stay that way, we could make the second half of the season very interresting. Would love to punch the Raiturds in the mouth in Oakland as a bit of payback.

Don't forget Marshall is a HOF'er & Hillis is an MVP candidate.

Congratulations and well deserved.

Orton's an underrated QB and the epitome of a team player.

Keep it going, Kyle and remember to return Pat's calls. ;D
