And by 'punishment' they mean a nice birthday party with chicks, and guns, and firetrucks...
Let me be the first to call that Rules Committee racist. Hilarious!

If Rangel were a rupuglican, then McShillit & Co. would be looking to deflect blame to some Democrat or other.
However, if Rangel were a repig, then odds are he wouldn't have faced any process of accountability in the first place.

What's funny is all he gets is a slap on the wrist, then back to spending the taxpayer dime.
Until one party stands up and goes after people no matter if they are liberal or conservative we can't clean up DC. The next repub that is shown to be cheating his way around should get pounced on. Then repubs could build some credibility.
Also this still isn't as funny as the dude with the kickback money in his freezer. That probably won't be topped.

True. Personally I could give a damn about party lines, get the damn crooks out. Oh and the 90k in the freezer guy was William "Dollar Bill" Jefferson. Duke Cunningham & Jim Trafficant should be on the (dis)honorable mention list

Looks like McSpammer is out of ammo - he's already gone into "make sh_t up" mode, and the night is still young.

Rangel is a loser. But why do you not seem to care about the Bush admin "violations" which are far more serious than anything the likes of Rangel has done?
This from the conserative Daily Telegraph:
“Waterboarding” is a disgusting practice by which the victim is deliberately made to think that he is drowning. It is not some cunning new psych-ops technique conceived by the CIA. It has been used in the dungeons of dictators for centuries. It is not compatible either with the US constitution or the UN convention against torture. It is deemed to be torture in this country, and above all there is no evidence whatever that it has ever succeeded in doing what Mr Bush claimed. It does not work.
How could America complain to the Burmese generals about the house arrest of Aung San Suu Kyi, when a president authorised torture? How can we talk about human rights in Beijing, when our number one ally and friend seems to be defending this kind of behaviour? I can’t think of any other American president, in my lifetime, who would have spoken in this way. Mr Bush should have remembered the words of the great Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, who said in 1863 that “military necessity does not admit of cruelty”. Damn right.

For the Right Wingers here that don't understand those words...it's an inside joke in Congress.

How nice, the board's resident hypocrite (Mad Yak) trying to put down another member using "whitey" as his hammer. What a POS!

To say nothing of the fact that McShillet is a "wannabe rock star" himself.
Always the poster boy for projection.
