That was pretty classy, even if his act was not. He didn't have to ever address it again, and the issue would have just gone away. By addressing it again, he puts it in the newscycle for another day, and just will get more media guff; so it's pretty difficult not to see the apology as classy.

I would find it grossly entertaining if Denver got another opportunity to run up the score in Arrowhead...and then actually did. It's highly unlikely, but damn would it be funny.

PFT has an interesting take, in that Haley got pissed we called a late timeout (by DJ), and that was because McD made no defensive substitutions when Cheifs made theirs as is the Broncos MO. PFT suggest that's proof that McD wasn't trying to run up the score.

Orton shouldn't have played in the 4th quarter, and it's not even a calling off the dogs issue, they can't risk getting Orton hurt. Put Quinn in at that point if you don't think TT can read a defense, but KO should not have been on the field.

Haley was a bitch though.

to be honest, I don't even care if we were trying to run the score up

we needed a boost as a fanbase and as a team, and if you can't stop what we have then so be it

it's not like many teams would take it easy on us given the chance....except the Raiders which I will give Cable 100% props for because he didn't have to

unfortunately if your team is having a bad day, it may not matter what the other team does...just ask Indiana, I think Wisky had their band members playing at some point

The reason Orton never got pulled: no KC Chief ever got within 2 yards of him all night. The guy literally didn't have to shower after that game.

After his late night of swording skanks and bathing in JD, that no doubt changed. But not after the game itself....

Orton threw 2 passes in the 4th quarter. All they did was run run run so yes, Orton should have been pulled but who gives a **** who is handing the ball off in the 4th quarter. I dont think thats why Haley was mad, I think its because we challenged the Lloyd TD.

The Chiefs were still playing good football and scoring. Given how badly we needed a win I'm glad McD played it the way he did.

I agree with you here. It would be nice if this team could figure out how to put together a 10 minute drive to end a game like that though. When everything is working on offense, it shouldn't be hard to do. I have seen many teams like the Jags do it to us consistently over the years. The defense wouldn't look so bad if our offense wasn't putting them back on the field so fast all the time. The Chiefs shouldn't have had that many 2nd half possessions when we are up by that much.

I would have kept playing Orton, last year the Cards were killing some team, Leinart came in for Warner and promptly threw a pick-6 and then another pick. Suddenly it was a close game again. Anyone imagine Quinn throwing a pick-6 with his first throw? Yeah me too.

Long, time consuming plays ending in a score is the optimum way to go obviously. Keep in mind this is the first week we showed even a hint of a running game. Given the importance of a win I am glad we went with our strong suit.

Haley had nothing to complain about. KC were kicking onside kicks, going for two point conversions and doing their best to stage a comeback......with their starters.

Haley is just upset that he was out coached as:

The Broncos roared to a 35-0 lead—the biggest first-half deficit in Chiefs history.

That's right, but McDaniels shook his hand at the end instead of acting like an immature little brat who's taking his ball and going home. I doubt the game with KC will end our season regardless of the outcome but we may very well have put the nail in yours since Oakland owns you right now. Doesn't that make two division opponents you've lost too and Oakland's beat 3? Hmmm.....

Oakland owns us? They barely beat us in overtime at home. That Raiders team aren't going to win anything. They play at Pittsburgh, against Miami and Indy, plus they still have to go on the road to San Diego and Arrowhead. Don't see that happening.

Don't write off Jacksonville either.

Point is, Raiders don't have an easy schedule, but they don't have the hardest 1 either (other than Pitts).

Realistically, they're playing off some serious momentum right. They have nice athletes on their team.

It is funny that you wrote KC on their as a "desperation game and revenge" but didn't include the Broncos which would pretty much hold the same description.

Running up the score? I saw plenty of reserve players enter the game mid 4th. Then Josh passes on kicking a short FG which would have put the Broncos over 50 points and goes for a short play on 4th down. What should he have done, had Kyle take a knee with 2 minutes left? F that.
