Early games... What ya got?

I'll be watching the QB sack game in Minn-Chi. Everyone keeps citing that Peppers owned McKinnie in their last meeting but I think Jared Allen gobbles up the Chicago OL. Chicago D, meanwhile, should be able to handle Peterson.

Should be a good game, I think. Cutler is probably better than Favre at this point but Favre has better protection and more weapons. Who knows how this game could turn out.

Jax/Hou could be a shootout but other than that, nothing catching my eye in the early games.

Apparently seven years ago, the Lions set the record for the most road losses in a row at 24. Now, they've tied it and can take the record from themselves today by losing the 25th.

I think it's easy to forget just how bad they've been since Barry left 'em at the alter.

It wasn't. The previous play where Hester fell down followed by that one shows that if they don't clean it up, their lack of a run game could hurt em today. Bad field + wind could make Peterson a great advantage.

I'm not one to call the conspiracy thing but I read a theory earlier in the week that the NFL wants the last Packers vs Vikings game to have more merit so it'd be in the NFLs best interest if Minn won a game or two between now and then.

On this drive alone, there have been two defensive holding penalties which bailed the Vikes out.

I've watched most of this game. The holes he's running through are literally big enough to drive a vehicle through.

Hillis does a great job getting to those holes, but wow are they big.

Just watch the replays of his long runs later. He's untouched for the first 5 yards of most of them.

Hilarious!

For accuracy, we were 7-4 at the switch... went on to miss the playoffs that year, then put up our first losing season in about 5 years. I'm not sure how that qualifies as "a playoff run."

I believe Cutler's playoff run will start this year.... but there's been no such run up until now.

But, that's not all Jay's fault... just as it wasn't all Jake's fault. This team needed (needs) major upgrades on both sides of the ball... particularly defensively.

---

Again, the logical stance on this whole situation remains that one can appreciate what past winning QBs like Elway and Plummer did for us while simultaneously rooting for the current QB to do even more.

Again, I say thanks, Jake... good effort, wish we could have won just two more games in 05.

I now turn my rooting to our future HOF quarterback.

How hard is that?

It was a joke but then again Who said it first? There's alot more HOF and Cutler if you want

That last one was iffy, I thought. A, it seemed to be uncatchable, and B, the players were running stride for stride and the 49er receiver stopped and tried to run backwards. What was the Ram supposed to do? How do you properly play D there?
