peyton hillis having a single good season makes it one of the worst decisions, EVER?

I say that is a little soon but if you look at the whole trade you would think a kindergartner thought it up.

We Traded 2 picks and a Fullback that can play WR and Running back. Does not have any off field problems, would not have cost much to sign

For

A worthless QB that is costing us 4 million dollars to sit on the bench and then drafted a QB late in the first round that we could have most likely gotten in the 2nd round.

It's not one of the worst decisions ever, but it is one of Josh's worst decisions. Brady Quinn is an objectively awful NFL QB in every possible way. He'll be out of the league very soon....although I'm sure he'll have a promising future in gay porn.

This trade sucked Bob's dick.....even if it wasn't signficant enough to be one of the worst decisions ever. It is VERY embarassing to get raped in a trade with CLEVELAND. That should never happen.

we all have hindsight to say that, but going into this offseason, how was chris simms two performances not fresh on your mind at that point? we needed a backup QB, and a TON of people here were calling for him to start, and are now yelling at mcdaniels for trading for him. cant have it both ways.

60 QBs have thrown a pass this season. So, I don't think it is a bad idea to go after a back-up QB. Was it the right guy for the right guy, no, but the importance of the position cannot go ignored.

Brady Quinn sucked, continues to suck, and was going to be cut anyway.

It was a bad trade no matter who they sent to Cleveland.

Hindsight man. The fact is we really needed an upgrade over Chris Simms especially since Orton still has questionable durability (he has admitted he doubts he could have gone had we played last week).

44. Twenty Teams Pass on Randy Moss.......This is listed as one of the worst decisions?

This list comes out the week after Hillis has a career weekend? Ya, right. Lets pretend that Hillis runs for 86 yards this last weekend. He doesnt even sniff this list. A year from now, he wont sniff this list - unless he goes on to have a HOF career which would make this mistake much higher than #98.

What about Chicago giving up two #1s for the frown cannon? Shouldnt that be on the list?

"Congratulations Broncos, you have successfully given up way too much to solidify Tim Tebow's back-up. Seriously, what were you thinking?"

March 14, 2010 - Broncos trade for Brady Quinn

April 22, 2010 - Broncos draft Tim Tebow

Man, Bleacher Report is stupid.

The Randy Moss thing is the dumbest part (it's saying a lot, I know, especially with the Hillis stupidity).

Why not X teams pass on Brady, X teams passed on TD, Jerry Rice, Farve, everyone else who has been productive and not drafted #1 overall.

Arguably that deal wasn't that bad. It certainly wouldn't've been looked back as bad as it is if Lindros hadn't been injured. He was, at one point, the best player in the NHL.

:Broncos:

I'd blame our Canadian Peso that was maybe .65 American at the time. Salaries were paid out in US while revenues were recouped at almost half (factoring in our higher tax rates) of what competing American franchises were raking in.

Edmonton and Ottawa were on the verge of leaving as well so I don't blame Quebec for losing the Nordiques or even the Expos. If anything I'd put the Roy trade in the Top 10 as the Avs won cups after the trade. Stupid Rejean Houle.

Seeing Gretz at #3 is a little misleading. The Oilers won cups after he was dealt, the Kings did not. So I don't think it merits top 3 by any means.

Legion of Doom during 1995 when he won MVP? How about the year after, when he had exactly one point less than Forsberg, but was way more physically intimidating(not to mention was without Joe Sakic)?

I get that the trade was lopsided, but it wasn't like the Herschel Walker trade or anything. If Lindros keeps his head up in a couple of key moments, he's a first ballot HOFer. He was Captain of the 98 Canadian Olympic team, fer god's sake!

hey i didnt say quinn was the answer, but i always understood the reasoning: mcd needed a backup QB, someone has shown some flashes in NFL that could come in and run the system if needed, and he saw brady quinn as that guy. quinn was not good for most of preseason and got beat out by tebow, if mcdaniels could "undo" that trade he prolly would. but no denying we needed a backup QB and mcdaniels made a move for one.

How about two very high 1st round choices for QB Steve Tensi? Or a high 1st and 2nd for QB Matt Robinson? Or Hall of Fame CB Willie Brown for (essentially) a 3rd round choice, and to the Raiders of all people?

And actually, the Colts got good players on the Elway trade. Both OLs Solt and Hinton were multiple time pro bowlers, Hinton is in the Colts Ring Of Fame and Solt was later traded in turn for a 1st rounder. Herrmann lasted 12 years as a backup NFL QB.

Having said that, trading Elway has to be one of the worst(Colts)/best(Broncos) decisions of all time.
