Indians Confused at Obama's Teleprompter Dependence
Indian politicians are known for making impromptu long speeches and perhaps that is why some parliament officials, who did not wish to be named, sounded rather surprised with the idea of a teleprompter for Obama.
"We thought Obama is a trained orator and skilled in the art of mass address with his continuous eye contact," an official, who did not wish to be identified because of security restrictions, said.

Namaste India! In all likelihood that will be silver-tongued Barack Obama's opening line when he addresses the Indian parliament next week. But to help him pronounce Hindi words correctly will be a teleprompter which the US president uses ever so often for his hypnotising speeches.
It is a complete outrage that the President of the United States can't even speak Hindi.
And what's more he actually needs a teleprompter to guide him with Hindi pronunciations.
Impeach this dimwit immediately.
Whenever heads of state visit another country for a few days, they always learn to speak fluently in the local language and our president can't even do that.
What an embarrassment for America!

That's just a lie the President's people put out to explain it away. The teleprompter will have his entire speech on it, in English. I don't think even the moonbeams here will doubt that.
He uses the teleprompter every time he speaks. No, that's not customary. Yes, he sounds like a befuddled idiot when he doesn't use it. On the rare occasions he accepts live questions, he filibusters and doesn't answer it.
Why is this relevant? The man was elected on the basis of his ability to give speeches. Most Americans were and are against his proposed policies in actual practice.

Winston Churchill was one of the greatest orators and were he in office today, there's no doubt he would have used a teleprompter. He practiced most of his speeches for hours in front of a mirror.
US Presidents have been using teleprompters for nearly 50 years.
Indian politicians are surprised mainly because they don't use teleprompters and usually ramble on for hours without one.

The selling of Obama was like marketing a brand name -- according to Chris Hedges -- and I think he got it right.

With the gothcha journalism that goes on these days it forces politicians
to use teleprompters. Because if they misspeak a single word, the new
flies are all over them like stink on poop. And everyone, no matter
how smart or talented, is going to ad lib something stupid from time to time.
Don't really care if he uses a teleprompter or not. It depends on what is written on the teleprompter that matters.
I am actually encouraged he is taking 200 CEOs along with him. He might learn a few things about business and how it works because he certainly doesn't understand a thing about it now.
