If Merriman is too much of a playboy, a winter in Buffalo will do him good.

Merriem makes no sense for us. Plays like ****, and we'd be crowded at the position by next season.

Now, if he was down with being a back-up, situational guy... as his skills dictate, maybe.

Plus, he's a d-bag and I can't imagine cheering for that convulsive sack-dance.

Agreed, thinking about the "lights out dance" wearing a Bronco uniform makes me cringe a bit.

That's what I'm saying... the way he's played lately, he probably couldn't even unseat who we have out there.

Mandatory Jones-Drew block to follow...

Judging by his recent, post roid history....you have nothing to worry about.

LOL....now I didn't say I wanted him.

Since the Ayers injury, the broncos have mostly been a 4-3 or nickel defense. IMO, he would be named starter the day he arrived.

I have wondered if there was anyone on the scrap heap that could help us out still floating around out there. Vickerson turned out to be a very nice pick-up.

I wonder if we've looked at anyone else over the bye week, here?

We've got to make some defensive changes for the 2nd half, somehow. A healthy Ayers would be a nice start, of course.

The Buffalo Bills have claimed former San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman on waivers, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Merriman must report to the Bills within the next five days or he'll be placed on the Reserve/Left Squad list and would not be able to play the rest of the season, at which point his status would be determined by the next collective bargaining agreement. At the moment, Merriman plans to report to Buffalo, sources told Schefter. He is not, however, expected to play Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

He's going to enjoy that cold weather, that 0-7 record and being about as far from Hollywood as possible.
