Mark Berman of FOX 26 in Houston reports that JaMarcus Russell, the first overall pick in the 2007 draft, will meet with the Redskins.

What kind of shenanigans is Shanahan starting in DC?

See, McNabb wasn't physically fit or smart enough to run the 2 minute offense.

Enter JaMarcus....

I sort of figured that getting fired and spending a year away from the game would restore some humility to Shanahan's approach. Between the Grossman headscratcher and now flirting with JaMarcus, it's starting to look like the same hubris that plagued his final three seasons in Denver is still well intact.

wtf is going on?
Has Shanny learned NOTHING form his failures in Denver?

Clarette is still available Shanny, perhaps Ohio State will accept a 3rd rounder for him

Sorta saw it coming, though. McNabb's sorta like Faver only without the laughs. Other than drafting Cutler, it's always been this year/this week with shanny. He was perfect for a veteran Elway.

I assume this is a half-joke by Shanny. It's a way to say to McNabb... look, hit the treadmill because even this fat out of work **** is in better shape than you.

Either that, or maybe Bowlen isn't the one losing his mental capacity...

I wonder how bad DC fans will start to dilike him after he signs J-Marcus to a Boss Bailey or Niko deal.. hahahaha

I find this hilarious. The sports radio around here has already been blowing up with frustration about Shanny's attitude. They can't stand how dismissive he is in regards to offering explanations for his decisions. I've been reminded how in the dark we tended to be all the time.

I loved the guy for a long time, but I don't miss him, even with our turmoil here. The man could make some headscratchers that is for sure.

Im glad Shanahan is gone now but this is bordering on sad that a long time hero of mine has completely lost his ****ing marbles.

oh they are livid....they are calling him an ego manic that doesn't understand the culture in DC (sound familiar TJ)?

People bagging on Shanny for his decisions are sure funny. He already has a top 5 pick team from last season playing better than this one. He doesn't need the excuses that some coaches are getting because he is actually accomplishing something. You question him because you have no clue what you are talking about...

Well, I don't wish any bad on him (he did, after all, give us our SuperBowl wins)-I hope he comes out ok with these decisions (which, at face value, seem questionable), and I do like McNabb-good luck with it Mike, sounds like you're going to need it-

I don't know about you, but I had been a little sick of the attitude a lot of skins fans have had towards me regarding Shanahan. I've told them that it wouldn't all be roses and you will have to do some mental gymnastics to make sense of some of the things he does and says. No one believed me.

I honestly thought that Washington had enough in place for Shanny to make a quick run like the late 90's. I think it takes a few years for the team to start questioning his decisions, to see him play favorites with players, to pull guys for no reason, and the famous shanny dog house.

He's moving faster this time.

yep...my wife knew what to expect but my buddies that always referred to him as Rat Boy loved him when he was signed and are now questioning him.....

I guess it is similar to the call in's in Denver but Bowlen is a more patient owner....

Well, Grossman excels at the two minute drill. Maybe Jabba excels at the spread? I know Shanny is thinking at a level few of us could comprehend.

I am surprise no one has pointed out the Grossman/Shanny connection. IT'S A FLORIDA GATOR CONSPIRACY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT'S NOT THE REDSKIN WAY!

Maybe he's decided that since he was able to get mcNabb to understand the offense, he can train Jemarcus!
