View Full Version : Dems Using Personal Attacks, Repubs Using Policy Attacks

ABC news even reported on this. Dems need to start policing themselves on this issue, because this kind of stuff is terrible for the country. It has been happening the whole year from the president down, using baseless attacks in calling people who disagree with their policies "racists", and even "terrorists". That kind of rhetoric is terrible for the country.

"Democratic candidates across the country are closing out the campaign with personal attacks on Republican candidates, sometimes digging up decades-old legal problems.

A recent study by the Wesleyan Media Project actually quantifies this. They looked at 900,000 airing of political ads this year and concluded: "Democrats are using personal attacks at much higher rates than Republicans and a much higher rate than Democrats in 2008." "

McCain did nothing about the border for years when he had the chance and Kerry is full of BS who lied about his fellow troops in Vietnam. Yes, 2 great people to defend there. Figures you would.

where you with kerry in vietnam? So you know that he lied? You always wrap yourself in the american flag then turn into a giant pussy when soldiers don't conduct themselves accordingly.so it was right for rove to spread lies about mccain having a black baby out of wedlock? your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I wonder what you would call Angle's favorite ad showing large, threatening Mexican gangsters walking toward the camera and a voice-over saying, "We know whose side Reid is on." Ha!

That's what losers do. Derrick Thomas was unable to beat Shannon Sharpe on the field so what did he do? He ripped Shannon's helmet off like a 2 year old child. What do the Raiders do when they are getting whipped like dogs? They get themselves ejected for cheapshotting their opponent. Losers are called that not because they were unable to win, but because they were unwilling to lose with any semblance of grace and dignity and prefer to blame others for their self-made predicament.

So it goes with Dems in this election cycle. They're stewed. They know it. They don't like it. So they regress and morph into whining, sniveling, cowards who are petrified of losing the power they 'worked so hard' to obtain. This go around, it's because we, the people, are too dumb. This is not news, though. All you have to do is look around this board at what tacks the Dem apologists and GOP haters have taken in light of the broomsticking that's about to occur.

I think it's kinda humorous. Demented and sad, but humorous. Hilarious!

This coming from the party of Karl Rove, king of gutter politics, and inventor of the push poll, first used against Ann Richards in Texas, "We would like to know if it would affect your vote if you knew that Ms. Richard's staff was dominated by lesbians?"

Rove is a bloated and fading dinosaur. I'm not in the party but will be watching closely as to whether the GOP remains the same ol' collection of gutless, brainless, heartless turds or whether it does what the Dems had a chance to do and didn't--defend, represent, and advocate for their electorate.

Granted, it will likely take more than one election cycle, but you can bet that if the people do not see progress (in a real sense, not a Democratic hype-sense), it'll get ugly quickly.

Yep.

For a guy who professes to be a "Christian," McNutter doesn't seem to know much about scripture...

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

With the 2006 and 2008 election cycles, the message has been sent that they better start listening to their constituents or they'll be gone and replaced by what amounts to common citizens.

Karl Rove-Backed Group Spends as Much as Political Parties

http://politics.usnews.com/news/articles/2010/10/06/karl-rove-backed-group-spends-as-much-as-political-parties.html

A pair of political groups cofounded by George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove last week spent more on independent expenditures than five of the six major party committees. The group, American Crossroads, and its nonprofit affiliate, Crossroads GPS, spent $3.5 million in independent expenditures last week, a figure that topped all but the National Republican Congressional Committee, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission. This represents a sea change from recent elections. In the 2004, 2006, and 2008 elections, national party committees were the top spenders on independent expenditures, political communications that an organization makes in support of or against specific candidates, without coordinating with those candidates or their opponents.

Again, look at the people you defend. John Kerry? You have to be kidding? I guess only you seem to believe the guy was telling the truth. Heck, Kerry was even getting his "proof" from soldiers who weren't even Vietnam at the time or were not even in the military at the time, but Kerry was more interested in slandering his fellow soldiers than spending the time investigating just who these supposed witnesses were. I guess that didn't happen in your little world either. Wake up.

A morally stunted nitwit like you would probably watch the film "Casualties of War" and read that Michael J. Fox's character was "slandering his fellow soldiers" in that scenario as well.

Yep.

The Tea Party and the modern conservative, almost libertarian, revolution is against the progressive republicans as much as it is against the progressive democrats. And I'm under no illusion that Rove and that crew will just roll over and let the new blood take the reigns. This is their last chance, however. The people are fed up with years of garbage and have had enough with wishy-washy policies and that the republicans are more willing to sell their souls than to put up a fight over policy. Its time for them to do what they were sent to do or to go find another job.

The days of electing familiar names and silver tongued stuffed suits are over. Too much is at stake.

I'd say it's more dems just trying really hard to hold onto power. They can't win on policy type issues right now.

Healthcare? nope hasn't kicked in enough and many people just confused. Trying to tout that not smart.

Economy? Give me a break

Cap and Trade? Well they haven't got it through, and it's controversial so they won't talk about that.

So they touted some money for high speed rail which really helps boxer in calif. They talk about security like repubs have always found works. They can say we got out of Iraq etc etc.

But really best strategy is to say repubs ****ed it all up, repubs are crap, look at all the bad stuff they have done etc etc. If I was in charge I would probably do the same thing.
