Surely Mike Singletary will go soon.

This has been a strange year so far, the worst team is Buffalo but he's not gonna get fired after 5 games.

Anyone else on the block?

Vernon Davis just scored, speaking too soon!

Serious though, he's probably gone. In the Bay it's said right now that if they don't win today he's gone.

But Singletary has no business being a HC, he's a motivational speaker and that's it. His football knowledge, x and o's knowledge simply aren't even competitive at the college or even HS level.

A previous Niner player had reported that Singletary and the staff would have trouble game planning and at times they had just "winged" it on Sunday.

SF
Bills
Carolina
Dallas

I think that Singletary has to be the first to go. In addition to putting out a terrible team, he is a frequent embarrassment. Head coaches shouldn't act the way he does. If he was winning it might be OK. But you just can't act like that when you're so terrible.

Surely the Bills won't fire their coach after 5 games? They have ZERO talent.

See that to me is the difference between the Bills and 49ers comparison. The 9ers have a TON of talent.

The 49ers play at home against Oakland this Sunday. If he somehow makes it through this week and then loses to Oakland at home, I think it's safe to say that he'll be fired for sure on Monday.

Firing your offensive coordinator in Week 4 is usually a last ditch effort to save your own job.

The noose is getting awfully tight for Mike.

I wonder if any of these owners will fire anybody, given that they don't expect to be playing next year anyway. They'll probably just ride out this season with whatever they have.

Yes because, being 2-3 is way worse than 0-4 or 0-5. Idiot.

He could drag AJ Smith down with him, seeing how it is the team wasn't any better off after firing Schottenheimer.

Firing Marty was the worst thing that team ever did. His reputation got him fired when it was pure horrible luck that the DB didn't go down after the game winning INT against NE a few years ago in LTs "They did the lights out" crybaby bowl. SD should have won it all that year but bad luck struck.

Oakland is no longer the pushover it has been the last seven years. Not only are we second in the division, but we currently hold the longest win streak in the AFCW.

Please. If SD didn't field the worst special teams the NFL has literally ever seen, that game isn't even close.

They do not field the worst ST's in the NFL, not even close. However, they did get overconfident they were going to walk all over OAK and took one on the chin! Nothing like a good dose of ass-kicking for SD!

Edit: SD's ST's have played horrendous to this point and will be even worse after last week's debacle. Good catch BB.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. I don't pretend to be an expert on special teams analysis and certainly haven't watched every team's special teams every game this year. However I, like most, just go with what I see on the field, and, of the teams I've watched so far this year, they have been the worst. And I did hear more than one analyst calling them one of the worst units in the league BEFORE Sunday's game.

These guys tend to agree:

He will probably make it to the end of the season, but I dont see Chile on the sidelines in Minn next year. The wheels are off that thing and the cart is skidding along the track. I think Dallas beats them this weekend and that should solidify the deal.

How would a team be 0-4 after playing 5 games? And you call me an Idiot? McDaniels stock must have gone up with you with another loss, now 2-4. Yes, that's better than 0-5 or 0-6. Still don't know how what mathematical equation you used, but I'll use your logic. Probably a safe bet that you also voted for Obama.

Now, beating Oakland wouldn't prove anything about McDaniels being a good coach, but losing to Oakland would go a long way to prove that he's over his head.

I think he was implying he didnt know if they had their bye or not yet and didn't really care to go look it up.

ANd no, he did not vote for Obama. Knowing Chris like I do, Im pretty certain he'd shoot you in the face for suggesting that if you had met in person.

OK, maybe not, but I certainly would have.

I'd say the certainties are Phillips and Fox. I loved Jones conference where he said Phillips is our coach....right now. But I'd say Singletary may be included in that group and Turner and Cable are possible casualties too, although the stupidity that is San Diego may look at injuries as the cause. I hope so.

Sheer stupidity is usually associated with voting for Bush. I think he did post 0-4 or 0-5. Now, go dig the **** out of your Wheaties.
