NFL.com

Quarterback Kyle Orton of the Denver Broncos and running back LaDainian Tomlinson of the New York Jets are the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week for games played on October 3-4, the NFL announced on Friday.

Orton passed for 341 yards and two touchdowns, completing 35 of 50 passes and throwing one interception in the Broncos' 26- 20 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Tomlinson rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets' 38-14 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Orton and Tomlinson were selected from among six finalists in Air and Ground categories. The other FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week finalists were quarterbacks Sam Bradford of the St. Louis Rams and Phillip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers and running backs Ahmad Bradshaw of the New York Giants and Peyton Hillis of the Cleveland Browns.

Fans voted for more than their favorite players. The weekly FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards are also a win for local communities. Along with the player awards, FedEx is making a $2,000 donation in each of the winning players' names to the local Safe Kids USA coalitions in Denver and New York to support pedestrian safety improvements.

During the week leading up to Super Bowl XLV, FedEx plans to announce the 2010 FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year in North Texas, as well as making a donation in each winning player's name to Safe Kids USA coalitions in the players' cities.

Orton won air and ground player of the week. I guess those 11 yards were pretty impressive.
