Seriously...Buc started out 4/32 and Maroney just plain sucked the entire game....so why doesn't Buc play more?

Maroney is our new toy. I think that has a lot to do with it...

It may be that Buck has glass for bones.

Voltron is bad, I bet Belly has a great laugh when he has that extra 4th round pick to play with next draft.

Yeah but at least he can run through defenders.

Too important on 3rd downs, they don't want to risk an injury and I think he is still a bit in the dog house after his week 1 fumble.

The difference between Buck and Moreno/Maroney (what's the difference) is that Buck hits the hole and gets upfield on screens like you're supposed to.

The main drawback with Buck is he risks landing on IR just tying his shoes.

Buck is an injury risk. Notice how we sat him most of the game and then rolled him out a ton starting in the late 3rd? Thats about as long as he's got enough gas in his tank to make it.

That and lets be honest, his numbers are skewed by the fact that Orton had been passing all over the Titans up to that point.

I think his fumbles have more to do with his playing time then his Injury risks.

Have you watched the Broncos before? Moreno is awesome at screens.

I want to see Andre Brown
Maroney seems to do OK on the screens when he has space to work, as far as actually running between the tackles....not so much

where is andre brown?

i was asying this in chat, mcdaniels is so stubborn when it comes to the run game. a RB can suck at pass protection and reads, if he can run the damn ball, thats what matters at times, because you cant cut everyone who is good at running but nothing else. someones gotta pick up yards. maroney is awful, regardless of running lanes, there is no reason for his lack of explosiveness behind the line and dancing.

But he wasn't on the field today. I think the thread is about active RB's.

Maroney's dancing is just painful to watch. Anyone that bitched about Knowshon should have a whole new perspective on his value now.

I agree with wanting to see Brown also. Truthfully, way too many times today there was a guy in the freaking backfield to meet the back. Not many players would have done much with the way our line was today.

I can't believe I agree with this but someone posted that Lendale White going down was the most under appreciated event this preseason. I think they are right.

Thank you.

As for Buck, he's fragile. He's more valuable to us all season in a small role, than killing him in a couple of games. He's not an every-down starter.

Maybe Brown can take some carries next week... or hopefully, Moreno returns to health. But, hamstrings are a bitch.

They gotta put some variety in there. Buck can't run the ball every time. I have to say they made a mistake letting Mighty Whitey go, they sure could use Hillis now.

The probability Buc get hurt on any given play he is featured is 5%. So the probability he would have been injured on a 5th run was over 52.5%.

Orton was 3/11 rushing...Maroney 5/11 avg of .05 :(
That's about as bad as it gets.

Orton saved this game Sunday from being the worst rushing game in Bronco history. Gotta love the guy. And he didn't even know he did it.

Will Maroney be back in time to practice this week. He is still trying to decide whether to run into the 2 or 3 gap back at LP field in Tennessee.

Maurice Clarett had 5 carries for 12 yards in his UFL debut. Bring him in!

Walter Payton was Walter Payton because he made people miss. I don't know if you are old enough to have watched Payton play (I think you might have been able to catch the tail end of his career), but he was the first player outside of the Broncos who I fell in love with and made me truly appreciate that there were things happening outside of my sphere of Broncos/AFC West football (and of course, the 49ers - who I hated growing up) and that they were definitely worth paying attention to. I tried to watch him every chance I could get when I was a kid, and would pay special attention to the highlight shows to catch Payton highlights, and of course, collected every card of his I could get my hands on.

Walter Payton was special, and yes, he'd be able to gain yards behind this offensive line - just watch and see for yourself:

Shanahan just cut Keiland Williams, very mysteriously. I wonder what that's about. He might be worth bringing in for a look... He couldn't be any worse than Maroney, and his size might be helpful in the red zone.

Maroney hasn't impressed me at all since coming in. Nobody would look good behind this line, but he has looked especially bad.

We need Moreno back ASAP. He's not a superstar, but he's head and shoulders above the other backs on the roster.

IMO Buc is the better option he's the only one with any quickness to the hole. Moreno
still hurt but he's the toughest back. Baloney Maroney is nothing but another Pats
cast off if he was good for anything he would still be there. Belicheat bent McD over again. When is he going to figure it out. The pats junk isn't necessarily better than what we already have.
