Happy Friday!! Hope it's a good one for everyone seeing as how we could get just a 'little' football fix last night! Kinda like going a long time without sex! Hilarious!

Anyway....today's thought:

Let it go

The trivial annoyances, even though they are virtually meaningless, can overwhelm you if you let them. Choose not to let them.

Be diligent about the things that truly matter, and be very flexible about the things that don't. There's no sense in wasting your precious time arguing or agonizing about something that doesn't really make a difference anyway.

Learn to let go, and to rise above the petty squabbles. You'll end up with much more time and energy available to work on the really important things.

Instead of carrying around your frustrations like so many trophies, choose to leave all the small, insignificant ones behind. You won't impress anyone by constantly complaining, and it won't add value to your life, so let it go.

You have much more meaningful and important issues upon which to focus your time and energy. Spend your moments truly living.

Get in the habit of letting go of the small, meaningless matters. And delight in the freedom, effectiveness and peace that you create for your life.

Happy Saturday, all!!

Boy do I need this thought today!

Weakness into strength

By recognizing and admitting your own weaknesses, you begin to move beyond them. When you're clear and honest about what you need to work on, you can make real progress.

When you identify a weakness, you've found an opportunity. By exploring what's holding you back, you can create a realistic and workable path to success.

Weakness is nothing to hide from or to be ashamed of. For in each weakness is the promise of real strength.

From each weakness there is much that you can learn. By understanding your limitations, you can find a way around them.

Instead of constantly fighting against your weaknesses, work on getting rid of them completely. Then all your time and energy can be put into moving quickly ahead.

Have the courage to look clearly at your weaknesses. What you'll see in each one is the potential to create powerful, effective new strength.

Ok, so after a morning at the gym, I'm planted in front of the tv. I love these shows on VH1...they are totally hilarious!

So, now it's Hogan Knows Best. I'm watching all the reruns. I just crack up at how the Hulkster deals with his family! It cracks me up. I love it. Are there any men out there like that?!! ;D

Before that it was Brett Michaels and Rock of Love. I hate the caddiness of women, but he's hot, HOT HOT!! ;D

Then there's the stupid show, Scott Baio is 45. Actually, I thought it would be stupid and then I started watching it. He is a real ass at times, but it's funny to hear how he thinks. I'm pursuaded that he's revealing the secrets of how men really think!!!!!!!!! Uh oh, your secrets are all exposed by Scott Baio!!! hahahahahahahahaha LOL

Things are shaping up well as far as wedding preparations... I'm totally finished with her garters and gloves and the alterations to make her slip fit properly. The bridal gown and veil are nearly done (just need a tiny bit of "finishing" work), as is one of the four bridesmaids' gowns. I still have 3 more bridesmaid dresses and the flower girl's dress, but estimate that each will take no longer than 2 days.

As a side note, dark red "mirror organza" over black looks awesome, particularly in the sunlight. :D But there are challenges to sewing with sheer fabrics, particularly those that have a tendency to fray. And "mirror organza" isn't a fabric that feels nice next to the skin; it's rather scratchy, which means the seams have to be "finished' so there are no rough edges. :P

Today...finally! Preseason or not, it's BRONCOS time!! I'm so excited...I can't wait until 5pm! Quitting time has a whole new meaning today!

Thought for the day!

The goodness deep within

Be honest with yourself. And you will see the wonder that is all around you. Drop any pretense of cynicism. And allow your spirit to marvel at the exquisite, graceful beauty in even the smallest of things.

Much of what you long for is already well within your reach. Let go of the doubts, fears, and assumptions that keep you locked out of life's best possibilities.

Look at the world with eyes full of wonder, gratitude, hope and purpose. What you truly desire is exactly the same as what you are destined to accept and create.

Become comfortable and familiar with the goodness that is deep within you. It resonates perfectly with the intractable goodness that holds the world together.

Though there may be constant turmoil on the surface of life, all is well deep within. Connect with the goodness that is inside you, and you'll discover the positive possibilities all around.

It's quite ironic at how today's thought talks about marveling at "the gracefull beauty of even the smallest of things". I was watching the Discovery channel last night and the show I was watching was all about this particular jelly fish off the coast of Australia. This species is very tiny, about the size of your pinky fingernail and is difficult to see in the water. They not only have stingers on their tenticles, but also on their body. Just one small stinger and you are in excruciating pain for weeks. There is no antidote and Morphine barely touches the pain. Anyway, this creature is so incredibly beautiful and graceful, but when touched, it's so harmful. Just struck me as interesting.

>One Flaw In Women
>By the time the Lord made woman,
>He was into his sixth day of working overtime.
>An angel appeared and said,
>"Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
>And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her?
>She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,
>have over 200 movable parts, all repl aceable
>and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,
>have a lap that can hold four children at one time,
>have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart
>-and she will do everything with only two hands."
>
>The angel was astounded at the requirements.
>"Only two hands!? No way!
>And that's just on the standard model?
>That's too much work for one day.
>Wait until tomorrow to finish."
>
>
>
>"But I won't," the Lord protested.
>"I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.
>She already heals herself when she is sick
>AND can work 18 hour days."
>
>The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
>"But you have made her so soft, Lord."
>
>"She is soft," the Lord agreed,
>"but I have also made her tough.
>You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."
>
>"Will she be able to think?", asked the angel.
>
>The Lord replied,
>"Not only will she be able to think,
>she will be able to reason and negotiate."
>
>The angel then noticed something,
>and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek.
>"Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.
>I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."
>
>"That's not a leak,"
>the Lord corrected,
>"that's a tear!"
>"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.
>
>The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy,
>her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love,
>her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
>The angel was impressed.
>"You are a genius, Lord.
>You thought of everything!
>Woman is truly amazing."
>
>And she is!
>Women have strengths that amaze men.
>They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
>but they hold happiness, love and joy.
>They smile when they want to scream.
>They sing when they want to cry.
>They cry when they are happy
>and laugh when they are nervous.
>They fight for what they believe in.
>They stand up to injustice.
>They don't take "no" for an answer
>when they believe there is a better solution.
>They go without so their family can have.
>They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
>They lo ve unconditionally.
>They cry when their chil dren excel
>and cheer when their friends get awards.
>They are happy when they hear about
>a birth or a wedding.
>Their hearts break when a friend dies.
>They grieve at the loss of a family member,
>yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
>They know that a hug and a kiss
>can heal a broken heart.
>Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
>They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
>to show how much they care about you.
>The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
>They bring joy, hope and love.
>They have compassion and ideals.
>They give moral support to their family and friends.

Thought for the day:
Now is the time to act
It is far easier to prepare for a storm when the skies are still clear. By the time dark clouds appear on the horizon, your options are drastically more limited and much less effective.

The surest way to make a task more difficult is to put it off until later. The cost of anything continues to rise the longer you take to pay for it.

Use this moment to create value instead of trying to borrow that value from the future. The sooner you make the effort, the more rewarding life will be.

A small precaution right now can help you avoid big problems later. The most reliable path to a great accomplishment is to start working on it as early as possible.

This is the moment when you can make a difference. So make full use of the opportunity that has come your way.

Do the difficult things while they are still easy. Right now is the time to act so as to get the highest return for your efforts.

Happy Happy Friday everyone!!! Looking for a beautiful and fabulous weekend!! Anyone have any fun plans??

Thought for today!

Choose to be inspired
Envy is worse than a waste of time. For when you hold on to thoughts of envy, you are actively holding yourself back.

Envy builds a wall between you and the abundance that could otherwise be yours. Envy can drain you of your best possibilities.

Do you ever resent it when someone else has acquired or achieved or experienced some particular thing and you have not? If so, then your envy actually makes your own situation worse.

Instead of being envious about the good fortune of others, be genuinely thankful for it. That instantly puts you in a much better position to create similar good fortune in your own life.

When you celebrate the achievements of others, you connect yourself in a positive and empowering way to life's abundance. When you choose to be inspired, your eyes will open to many more valuable and positive possibilities.

Be truly thankful for the success that you see around you. And that success will soon become your own.

Happy Saturday everyone!!

Thought for the day!

What's right with your life

There are plenty of things that are right with your life. Have you thought about any of them lately?

The goodness in your life is so much a part of you that you can easily take it for granted and rarely give it a second thought. On a regular basis, though, it pays to think about that goodness.

Whatever else may be going on in your world, the fact is that you are extremely blessed in many ways. Think about those blessings that blend quietly into the background, supporting and sustaining you in every moment.

Think for a little while about what's right with your life. The more often you connect with the value that's already yours, the more new value you will create.

When you feel that the troubles and frustrations are dominating your thoughts, stop and turn your mind in a more positive direction. Remember that wherever your thoughts go, the rest of you will quickly follow.

Focus your awareness on the many good things that make up your life. For with your nurturing, those good and valuable things can indeed grow into greatness.

Happy Monday all!

I've got the Monday blues....Trying to shake them!

Thought for the day!

When
When your reasons to move forward outweigh your excuses for staying put, you will move forward. When your thirst for success is more powerful than the desire to stay within your comfort zone, you will succeed.

When the reward is meaningful enough, you will act. When you connect your deepest purpose with the goals you set, those goals will be achieved.

When you understand that there is a real and accessible pathway to the most magnificent dreams you can dream, you'll get yourself on that path. When you know without a doubt that every action has a consequence, you'll focus all your actions in a positive and valuable direction.

When you love what you do, you'll do it with grace and ease and excellence. When you do what you love, you'll provide a steady stream of unique and extraordinary gifts to life.

When you are completely clear about why, you'll be able to figure out how. When you let go of the need to need, you'll fall into a massive sea of beautiful abundance.

When you are ready, life is here to fully live. Choose it, and now is when.

The very first line is great! I like it. I think I'll put it in my seg to remind myself that sometimes, standing still and waiting for something to happen just won't do. Sometimes I have to make a move.

When you are 'inactive' about a goal or something you desire, inaction - is still an 'action'. Thus you are not actively working to 'create' a 'desired change'. Then it creates a response close to 'desire/lust/wanting' that will not be fulfilled due to your 'expectations' of how something should play out, because you are 'waiting'.

I have the opposite problem STG - i have a problem with PATIENCE. I'm naturally a "doer", so i at times go crazy 'waiting'.

I'd rather regret what i did, than what i didn't do.

Happy Tuesday! Glad Monday is over. Is it legal to start counting down the weekend already? Or should one wait until at least Wed? Ha!

Thought for the day...another dandy!

Whatever effort necessary
When you're willing to make an initial effort, you'll succeed sometimes. Take the next step, make a second effort, and you'll succeed more often.
If you're prepared to make a third, fourth, or fifth effort, you'll reach a much higher success rate. And when you commit to putting forth whatever effort is necessary, you will achieve whatever you choose.

Real and lasting success usually requires more than one attempt. If you make just a single attempt and then give up, you haven't given yourself much of an opportunity to achieve.

There is no reason to become discouraged if you fail to reach your goal on the first attempt, or even the second or third. For each effort, though it may not get you there, gets you closer.

Even an unsuccessful attempt gives you valuable knowledge and experience, and vastly increases the likelihood of success on the next attempt. When you continue getting closer each time, you surely and eventually will get where you intend to go.

The roads leading to the most beautiful places always twist and turn and double back on themselves. Keep making the effort, no matter what, and you will reach the beautiful places where you wish to be.

Stop merely trying
Stop trying and start doing. When you see yourself as merely trying, you don't give yourself the benefit of a solid and complete commitment.

When you're merely trying, every minor disruption becomes a major excuse for not following through. Go beyond trying, see yourself as doing, and the little bumps along the way will be much less likely to stop you.

Would you rather have a trying life or a life overflowing with achievement and fulfillment? The difference comes by replacing all your trying with the full commitment of doing.

When you see yourself as trying to achieve something, you're constantly sending yourself a message that you really don't deserve it. Instead, choose to see yourself as actively making it happen and you'll become confident of a positive, successful outcome.

If you're merely trying, what's the point? Take one more step up on the ladder of commitment, and focus your energy on making it happen.

You deserve that very best that life has to offer. Go beyond just trying, and you will make it so.

Happy Thursday! One day closer to the weekend!

Thought for the day:

First impressions
First impressions are helpful and important. Yet they are certainly not everything.

A quick first impression can give you a feel for what's going on. Still, there's much substance that lies beneath the surface.

Allow your instincts to guide you without letting them dominate you. Do the work and dig deeper before making any long-term judgments or commitments.

In presenting yourself, seek to make an excellent first impression. Be sure, however, to also have the depth of substance that will faithfully back up that initial positive impression.

Those who are quick to judge, without considering all the facts, often make serious and irreversible mistakes. More often than not, hasty judgments lead to trouble, alienation, anger, frustration and regret.

Pay attention to your first impression. And let that first impression be a starting point rather than a final conclusion.

Happy Friday!! :sunshine:

Today's thought:

Live on purpose
Live this moment, live this day on purpose. Choose to create the world around you according to your most deeply held values.

Life is not a random accident. Whatever is happening in your life at any time is the result of some specific set of thoughts and actions.

Instead of complaining about your circumstances, get busy and create some new ones. Reach down into the purpose that is within you and connect that purpose with all you do.

When your actions have no real basis in meaning, then the slightest setback can stop you cold. By contrast, when you give true purpose to each day, even the most difficult challenges will serve to lift you ever higher.

Your most treasured dreams are yours for a very good reason. You are the one special person who can make them real.

Do yourself a big favor and give this day a meaningful purpose. Feel the stimulating, dynamic energy of life as you truly make a positive difference in your world.

The Stranger

A few years after I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our small Texas town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on.
As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche.
My parents were complementary instructors: Mom taught me good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey.
But the stranger...he was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies.
If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind.
Sometimes, Mom would get up quietly while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he had to say, and she would go to the kitchen for peace and quiet. (I wonder now if she ever prayed for the stranger to leave.)
Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never felt obligated to honor them. Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our home... Not from us, our friends or any visitors. Our longtime visitor, however, got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad squirm and my mother blush.
My Dad didn't permit the liberal use of alcohol. But the stranger encouraged us to try it on a regular basis. He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly and pipes distinguished. He talked freely (much too freely!) about sex. His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing.
I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced strongly by the stranger. Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he was seldom rebuked... And NEVER asked to leave.
More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our family. He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first. Still, if you could walk into my parents' den today, you would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures. His
name?............See below:

We just call him, "TV."
* *Note: This should be required reading for every household in North America!**

P. S. He has a wife now....We call her Computer

Have a great day, Maners!

Today's Thought...(Actually it was Saturday's...but, I didn't post it, so you'll get it today) :)

Magic of living

This moment is pure magic. Though it may seem completely ordinary and without distinction, this moment is surely a miracle.

For in this moment, every possibility exists. Right now, in this very moment, you can act to make a difference in your own life, and you can truly change the world.
Though you see no mystical vapors and hear no mysterious voices, this moment is as intensely magical as they come. For the real magic of living is not in strange, unexplained visions, but in the beautiful essence of your being.
You are here and you are now. You can think and feel, you can love and understand, you can experience and you can do.
What could possibly be more magical than that? In this ordinary, everyday moment the profound and exquisite magic of living is yours. Choose wisely from the vast array of possibilities that have opened up to you in this moment. And live the magic that is here right now.

Happy Monday, everyone!! Hope everyone has a great day!

Thought for Monday....

Step after step
How many small opportunities do you routinely ignore because you're waiting, wishing, searching and hoping for a big opportunity? That big opportunity may or may not ever arrive, yet all the while those small opportunities are there for the taking.
Every moment is an opportunity to create a little bit of value. Although the progress you can make in a single moment may not seem like much, those small moments can add up over time to big achievements.

Take one small step and it hardly seems like you've gone anywhere at all. Yet when you continue taking step after step, you can get anywhere you choose to go.

The most reliable path to success is a simple one that anyone who chooses to do so can follow. Dream big dreams and take small steps, one after another after another until you're there.

If you attempt to leap to the top of the mountain in a single effort, you will almost certainly fail. Yet make the commitment to reach the summit step by step, and you will surely get yourself there.

Right this moment there are dozens of small opportunities just waiting for you to seize. Create a little value here, a little value there, again and again, and there's no limit to where you can go.

Today, my little Kayla starts her first day of Kindergarten. I'm nervous for her, and hope she gets along well. I remember my first day of Kindergarten I was nervous and scared and didn't know what to expect.

I don't know if Im ready to ship her off to school :(

Awww....but does she want to go?
Do you get to take her?
Has she seen the classroom before?

Most kids are excited...and a little nervous.
But if she knows what to expect (the routine) she won't be
as scared. Just remind her that you'll be there
to pickup (or mom) and help her settle in. The worst thing
I've seen parents do is not say goodbye and sneak
out the door at dropoffs...That doesn't do much for instilling
trust in their child.

Good Luck!

Rock Chalk

Awww....but does she want to go?
Do you get to take her?

Umm I think she is more or less ambivalent about the whole thing. I didnt get to take her. I was going to go, but she said she didnt want me to go with her. Just her and momma. I really needed to get to work early to make up time for being sick anyway, but still, your daughter only goes to her first day of school once.

Sassy
08-27-2007, 10:16 AM
True!
Call your wife and see how drop-off went...
If it was tough for her, give the teacher a quick
call later and see how she setteled in. Most of the
time if they do have a tough dropoff it doesn't take
long for them to settle in. Most kids we have are
fine after a few minutes.

(No kids here...but I do have 2-5 year olds at daycare.)

Good Morning!!! :sunshine:

Thought for today:

Focus on it
The influence of anything in your life is determined primarily by the amount of focus you give to it. Your focus can make things bigger or smaller, depending on its direction and intensity.
Have you ever been so totally engrossed by some little something that you completely forgot about everything else for a moment? It can indeed be startling when you experience the raw power of your own focus.

And you can choose at any time to put that power to use. By directing your focus, you can positively affect every corner of your life.

What things would you like to make more abundant in your world? Focus the energy of your thoughts on them and they will grow.

Have you been disappointed, slighted, frustrated, angered or insulted? Point your focus toward the positive, fulfilling possibilities and you'll quickly put the negativity behind you.

Focus can get you moving forward with a powerful, nearly unstoppable momentum. Focus on the world you would most like to see, and with the power of focus you will make it appear.

Always ironic how these hit me right between the eyes each day. Off to boot camp! Have a gread day everyone!!

Happy Hump day everyone....and a long weekend coming up as well!! !Booya!

Thought for today:

Having enough
The only difference between needing more and having enough is your attitude. At any time, in any circumstance, you always have the option of deciding that you are enough, and that you already have enough for the moment you're in.

Always longing for more will eventually wear you down into a painful, frustrating and overwhelming sense of disillusionment. Having enough, on the other hand, puts you into a peaceful, positive and productive state of mind.

Just imagine how completely satisfying it would be to suddenly have everything you need. You can know that satisfaction right now, in this very moment, just by allowing yourself to have enough.

It costs you nothing to decide that you have enough. For having enough does not preclude you from creating more abundance in your life.

In fact, having enough sets your creativity free and allows your effectiveness to soar to new heights. When you get away from the stifling mindset of lack and limitation, truly magnificent things will happen.

By having enough, your struggles disappear and are replaced with countless opportunities for real joy. See right now that you have enough, and delight in the warm and genuine richness it brings.

This one just put me in my place!!!
