And this is why I live in a small town....

Nothing ever happens here, well, nothing major anyway. So, when I am driving home at 7am from the gym and I see 8 cop cars with lights flashing driving down the road spread out, I just have to wonder. And, in amazement, I realize, the big news of the morning.....a few cows had escaped in my neighborhood! :giggle: Yup, that seems to give the police around here something to do! ;D

Anyway, just a Thursday morning chuckle here on the NPN for ya! :flower:

Yeah, Blue is correct. I think he has a boat that they use. At least that's what I remember seeing when I was there. Not like a power boat or anything, but a pretty good size blow up boat.

We usually float the river on tubes or blow up kayaks. And, our river runs through the middle of town. So, it's only about a mile to the drop off point and then we get out at a friends house. She lives right near the river.

You can be audited for 7 years...in some cases 10 years. But, that's usually business related. I keep files for 10 years because of business, otherwise, it's 7. And, it's only selective things.

You should tell your boss that an increased demand for your services coupled with a decrease in supply of available workers should correlate to a pay increase. When he looks at you all crazy just tell him its simple economics and walk off.

It's one reason WHY I love my job. And, no stress. Very rarely does my job require more out of me that would stress me out. I've had my share of high stress jobs. NO thanks, I've paid my dues. There's more to a job than just financial (of which they take very good care of me)!

Don't settle. Keep looking for something better and that you might find some sort of joy out of. Use it for a great reference. At least that's what I did. Heck, I remember working for a company that did telephone surveys. I was the one sitting on the phone taking surveys.

HAHA, oh I have stories of that job. But, I hated it. It was the most BORING job in the world. I delivered newspapers one summer so that I wouldn't have to put my daughter in daycare. That job sucked, too. Up EVERY morning at 2am...no days off. But, hey, she did it with me, so it was a lot of fun. We turned it into a game.

I guess my philosophy on jobs and most things in my life has always been not to settle for just anything that comes along. Beautiful Friday morning to everyone! It's Balloons Over Bend this weekend, so while at bootcamp this morning we were graced with the beauty of many awesome looking hot air balloons in the sky!

Thought for the day

Be positive anyway
When you experience a setback, it may seem natural to respond by lowering your expectations. Yet that is not the only choice you have.
Just imagine what would happen if you did exactly the opposite. Just imagine what would happen if you decided to raise your expectations in response to each setback.

With such a strategy, negative momentum never has a chance to take hold. For even the disappointments serve to push you forward.

Your current expectations have much more power and influence than anything that has occurred in your past. For it is your current expectations that give direction to your energy and your actions.

Choose to make that direction a positive, valuable, creative one. From even the most burdensome difficulty, you can begin to move forward immediately.

Base your expectations on your most treasured dreams and your most profound purpose, rather than on life's random events or circumstances. And nothing will be able to hold you back for long.

-- Ralph Marston

Happy Saturday morning everyone!!

Thought for today:

Take responsibility
Whatever your troubles may be, you can always find something or someone else to blame. But there's nothing of real value to be gained by doing so.
Certainly there are many factors that influence the events and outcomes in your life. The best things to focus on, however, are the things you can control.

Sure, the weather or the economy or the government or your next-door neighbor may have inflicted some difficulties upon your life. So what is the best way to move forward?

Resentment and anger will do little more than waste your time and could likely make you ill. Building an elaborate case of blame for what has happened will drain your energy and leave you no further ahead than when you started.

Instead, consider forgiveness. Even though someone else may be to blame, consider the freedom and power and control of taking full responsibility for your own situation.

When you focus on blame, you position yourself as a helpless victim. Choose instead to take responsibility, and you'll live life on your own terms.

Happy Sunday evening, everyone! I'm a bit late on the thought for today...but, here's one to think about for this evening:

Life's treasures

The good things in your life are infinitely more enjoyable when you avoid becoming dependent on them. If you see yourself as desperately needing something, the fear of losing it prevents you from getting full benefit from it.

Many of life's frustrations come from being unable to fully enjoy the good things that are already right in front of you. The desire to hold on tightly to the things you have can make those things virtually worthless.
Security is not attained by hiding away from life. The most enduring form of security is found in knowing that you can deal successfully and positively with whatever may happen.
Life's treasures become useless when they remain locked inside a vault of your own making. What good is it to have anything of value if you must live in fear of losing it?
Instead, take the treasure that is your life out into the world and enjoy it. Focus on the possibilities and not on the fears. The more you think you need, the more those needs will hold you back. The more you choose to give and to live, the more good things you'll find coming your way.

Happy Monday everyone!! Hope everyone had a fantastice weekend! I know I did! ;D

Thought for the day!
(This one really got me this morning....really how I want to live my life!)

Profound success

Real success is not merely a matter of getting what you want. After all, a newborn infant with a loud cry can accomplish that.

Real success comes from fully being who you are. Real success comes from giving your own unique value to life.

The less you need, the more fulfilled and powerful and effective you are. As your peacefulness increases, so does your energy level.

Choose not to let the small things anger you, or annoy you, or distract you. And keep in mind that most things are small things.

Stop fretting so much about whether or not you're getting your way. Seek instead to relax your judgment, and to find the unique value that is in each moment.

You cannot ever fully control everything that happens, and in fact you would not want to do so. Enjoy true success by learning how to take whatever happens, and to make it work for the good of all concerned.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

So, before I share the thought for the day, I have to share the horrible moment from this morning! And, don't go calling me a wimp, a wuss, a sissy or whatever! I am who I am! Just accept it! ;)

So, I'm driving home this morning after my boot camp training and I'm on the little parkway we have here, left lane, passing a slower suburban, going about 50-55 mph. All of a sudden, I hear a screaching sound and see a deer flying from the passenger side of my vehicle in front of my window accross to the median to my left. Seriously, this poor thing was in the air flying. I missed it, but the poor car behind me ended up decapitating this poor deer. That was not what I wanted to see in my rear view mirror!

You have to understand, I ran over a squirrel a few years ago and cried about killing it. I felt like a murderer. I know, many of you are really laughing at me about now...but, seriously, I'm not a killer. I hate death. Even of animals.

Anyway, I was lucky to not have any damage to my vehicle and especially lucky that the pack of vehicles that I was traveling with did not get into any sort of an accident. It could have been really ugly had that suburban swerved to try and miss the deer.

Thought for the day!

Become familiar

You attract what you are willing to accept. And you are willing to accept that with which you are the most familiar.

You are the most familiar with the things upon which you focus the energy of your thoughts. So where are you directing those thoughts in this moment?

Are your thoughts filled with worry about what you do not want? Then you'll soon grow to accept those undesirable things as inevitable, and attract them into your life.

Instead, fill your thoughts with eager anticipation for the good and desirable things you know are possible. That will open you to accept those blessings, and they will then flow into your life.

Through your thoughts you become familiar with life's various possibilities. Through your thoughts you convince yourself to accept and embrace certain specific possibilities.

With your thoughts, become intimately familiar with the exact details of the life you wish to lead. And those details will surely assemble themselves into the meaningful life you seek.

Scary stuff, STG.... while I'm sad for the poor deer, I'm very glad the Suburban didn't swerve or otherwise endanger other drivers in the effort to avoid hitting the deer. It certainly could have been much worse.

they very 1st post of the original DPO NPN thread:

Alfred91 - 09:34am Dec 24, 1998 MDT Big Hatch is a big piece of big sh!t.

It has come to my attention that the Broncos current two-game losing streak began the week following the tragic disappearance of the Neck Pony Nation thread!

The Neck Pony Nation must reunite and lead the way to the Super Bowl!

We are the fans of the World Champions, we can and will repeat, but the fans must get behind their team!
