Champ on crutches
Ordinarily, Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey is one of the first players out of the locker room following a game.
He was the last player to leave Sunday. It's hard to hurry on crutches.
Bailey left the Broncos' locker room with his right ankle lightly wrapped, and leaning on two crutches.
"It happens," Bailey said. "I should be all right, though."
For now, there's a good chance the Broncos may have take on Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts next week without their 9-time Pro Bowl cornerback. Bailey appeared to suffer the injury in the fourth quarter of the Broncos' 31-14 victory against Seattle.

Odds of him still waking up in a cold sweat with nightmares of Payton Manning at least 3 times a week......100%.

Well, we're just gonna have to out shoot them then ... Cox and Squid holding down the fort while DT, Eddie, Eric and Lloyd rack up 45 points on Indy.

Hopefully McD's just playing games with the Colts as they gameplan for Sunday.

Well either way Manning is going to own us. We couldn't lay a finger on Hasselbeck today. You let Peyton stand up and it's game over.

I know things look scary but how about we play the actual game before we forfeit to them
You might miss out on a 38-37 game of the week :wiggle:

Would Josh be smart enough to say, 'Hey Champ lets tape you up and you use these crutches and maybe Manning will test you next Sunday". ;D

When we were at the game my wife thought she saw him holding one of his hands funny when he walked off, like it was some type of hand injury. Heck, it probably is and they are throwing us off with the crutches!

The injury bug is hitting the Denver Broncos again.

This time, the team's starting tandem at cornerback, Champ Bailey and Andre Goodman, are hurting, raising the possibility the Broncos could face Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts next Sunday with rookies manning the cornerback spots.

The Broncos, who had gotten fairly healthy as a team after a slew of injuries during training camp, saw Bailey leave the stadium on crutches after Sunday's 31-14 win over Seattle. He suffered a leg or ankle injury late in the fourth quarter, according to multiple news reports.

Goodman left the game in the second half with a thigh injury.

On Monday, coach Josh McDaniels declined to specify the nature or extent of the injury to Bailey except to say, "nothing is broken."

McDaniels held out hope that Bailey or Goodman or both would be available for the Colts game.

"We're going to see how that goes this week," McDaniels said. "It will be an important game, obviously, to have those guys available, and they'll do I'm sure, everything they can do to make sure they're ready for Sunday. That's really all we can tell right now, I don't know if they're going to be (ready) or not, but we're hopeful that both of them will have an opportunity to play."

Perrish Cox, a fifth-round pick out of Oklahoma State, and Cassius Vaughn, an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi, would be in line to start if Bailey and Goodman are unable to play.

Cox intercepted a Matt Hasselbeck pass during the fourth quarter of Sunday's victory over Seattle, and Vaughn recovered a muffed punt, setting up a Broncos touchdown.

I rewatched the 2nd half last night....to see if I could pick up on when Champ got injured. It was in the 4th quarter....Champ was on the bottom of the screen....Hasselbeck through a completion to Mike Williams, who was being covered by Cox. The very next play Vaughn was in for Champ.

I just don't get it.....the play wasn't even to Champ's side of the field!

Here's to hoping it's just a bluff for Mellonhead.

Quick. Someone delete those picks of DJ hitting Hasselbeck before the league gives a retroactive 15 yarder and a fine.
