what the hell is it ?

http://www.bing.com/news/search?q=google%20tv&form=HPDTLB

is this the end of cable and video stores and stylites

http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2010/09/02/google-facebook-and-boxee-respond-to-apple

We all watched the Apple announcement. We walked away feeling strongly confident about the space it left for Boxee to compete. We have a different view of what users want in their living rooms. We are taking different paths to get there. The Boxee Box is going to be $100 more expensive than the Apple TV, but will give you the freedom to watch what you want.

We think itís worth it.

I am lost ....but want to get rid of my satellite hell I have to be online connection can I take advantage of it with these and watch football with it ?

NewTeeVee has a comparison of Apple TV, the Boxee Box, and Roku, which some have also said is superior to the new Apple TV.

None of these will let you watch live Football at this time. Except maybe GoogleTV, but only if you can currently watch it online, such as NBC Sunday Night Football.

They wait for Kim Jong Il or the Pope to give it the thumbs up.

Well it's basically a PC that sits in my entertainment center where my DVD player would be. It has a blu ray player built in, can stream sports from ESPN3, movies from Netflix, and all kinds of other good stuff. All connected to my TV. You can also hook a TV tuner up to it to record shows onto your PC, I haven't done any of that yet though.

NFL doesn't do internet streaming like the MLB does, so you are out of luck for watching games unless you go to one of those illegal streaming sites.
