Stokley gone in Denver
Posted by Mike Florio on September 15, 2010 6:39 AM ET
On September 4, the Broncos placed veteran receiver Brandon Stokley on injured reserve.

Ten days later, the Broncos cut him loose.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reported on Tuesday that the Broncos reached an injury settlement with Stokley, released him from injured reserve. It means that the two sides have agreed on the amount of time that will be required for Stokley to get healthy, and that he'll be paid to cover that period of time.

It means that Stokley now can sign with another team, if/when he's healthy.

An 11-year veteran, Stokley owns two Super Bowl rings from his time with the Ravens (in 2000) and the Colts (in 2006).

Just wanted to say thanks to Stokley. Consumate pro, very rarely dropped anything thrown his way, and a pretty clutch receiver, especially in the red zone. I hope all the best for him.

Thanks to Stokely. I'll always remember that tip drill against Cincy. Good memories.

Thanks Brandon! You were a great player here, and I was always happy to see you get the ball.

And lest we forget...

I always thought of Decker as more of a "Ed McCaffrey" type of receiver....but, come to think of it, he kind of looks a little like Stokley out there too. :)

Class act all the way.

I remember when he was ejected in the Eagles game, when he contested after a linebacker basically tackled him before the ball was anywhere near him. He basically high-fived the ref. Total bull****.

Loved Stokes. If I was putting together a team, I would want Rod Smith and Brandon Stokely to by my WR coaches.

My adopt-a-bronco has officially left the coop. Sad, really. Hopefully, someone will impress me enough this Sunday to take Stokley's place...

Gut feeling says he will be.

Stokley was about the little things, stopping Brandon Marshall's touchdown display in Cleveland that would have cost Denver 15 yards on the kickoff, running down the goal line in Cincy to milk time off the clock. Heady play like that is very rare.

Good pick up by the Broncos. Stokley was the man.
Great productive and smart player.
I'm pretty sure he's not done yet. He'll be playing this year when healthy again
He just turned 34 last June...

Awesome player, I'm proud that he was a Bronco for a good while.

Best of luck to you Stokes! The NFL needs more players like you.

That's what endeared him to me, the consumate professional in a sport where that mentality is becoming increasingly rare.

Best of luck Brandon...thanks and cheers
