So no Unger and Tyler Turnstile starting at LT?
Say what you want about the Jags game, but we are going to know a LOT more about the state of our team after playing the Seahawks
If our front seven can't generate pressure against their patchwork line, especially with the home crowd behind them... Uhh

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

RENTON, Wash. -- Starting right guard Max Unger is likely out for the Seattle Seahawks' game Sunday at Denver after suffering a toe injury in the season opener.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Unger injured his toe early in a 31-6 victory over the San Francisco 49ers but played through it. Unger was wearing a protective boot on his left foot Monday.

Unger, a second-round draft pick by the Seahawks last year, started all 16 games as a rookie, playing the first 13 at right guard before shifting to center for the final three.

Carroll said he didn't know who would take Unger's place.

The coach said right guard Mike Gibson suffered a lower back strain against the 49ers but is expected to play Sunday.

Well, the SEA game is one I had chalked up as a win. And it should be a W. The team obviously has to play well, but that goes for every game.

I'm looking forward to seeing Bannan play at home. Seemed like he was one of the worst affected by the heat in Jacksonville.

I can remember the old Jim Zorn to Steve Largent days.......and then on to David Craig. Yep, they have seen better days.

Since the worst starting QB in the NFL on a "division favorite" handed them 14 points and the game

I think we can win this game. The Niners underestimated them Seahags and they let things get out of hand really fast. That won't happen this time. This will be the opposite of the the Jags game. If we keep it close, we will slowly pull away.

if you can't stop the runs, get pressure on the QB, and tackle on ST, it won't matter who is out for the Hawks, they'll stomp the Broncos.....

I'll go ahead and make the bold prediction that we destroy the Seahawks.

Pete Carroll was going up against Singletary... Not exactly known as a football genius.

I see McDaniels coaching circles around Carroll.

tsiguy96
09-14-2010, 12:35 PM
like i was saying before, weve been winning game 1 in pretty convincing fashion for awhile, maybe having a step back and losing a game or two early will allow this team to make two steps forward. who knows?

Rohirrim
09-14-2010, 12:40 PM
Why is Pete Carroll considered a bum? I'm missing the logic on that one. The guy had a winning percentage of .894 at USC. He's had all kinds of experience, both in the NFL and the NCAA. In fact, McDaniel's experience is far less. And here there are posters who take it for granted that Josh will outcoach Pete. Somebody (other than SoCal) explain that to me?

Beantown Bronco

I'd consider him a bum at the NFL level to this point.....as would all my Patriot fan friends who saw all too clearly how poorly he did in his first go around.

How much of that had to do with the Parcells hangover? He won the division his first year with a 10-6 record, then went 9-7 and lost in the wild card round, and then went 8-8. 27 and 21 is not exactly a horrible record.

You have to look past the records. There was some real context there.

He took over a team that made the SB and they got measurably worse every year in every meaningful category. In his final year, they lost 6 of their last 8 games to some crappy teams and looked absolutely horrible and not even competitive in those games. He had completely lost the team.

Not sure about 'career days'. Polumbus and Hamilton both share the same weakness, pass-protection against the bull rush, but are very solid in the rest of their game. It'll be interesting to see them square off against Ayers and McBean, respectively, who have good bull rushes, but are otherwise crap. It's likely Ayers and McBean will get schooled most the game, but make a few impact plays on 3rd down with blitz help.
