Right now he's with Frank Filchock, Jack Faulkner, Mac Speedie, Ray Malavasi, Lou Saban and Jerry Smith. Wade Phillips if you count the playoffs.

If we had lost those first six games, and then won nearly every game after that, I'd certainly ignore all of those first six losses.

He did not ............. Ralston did

Ralston architected the entire roster. Joe Collier, DC, architected the Orange Crush. The first person to toss out the name "Orange Crush" for the Denver defense was Woody Paige (Rocky Mountain News - 1976)

McDaniels has never been on a team with a losing season. I expect us to be at least 8-8 by the end of the year. This first part of the year will be rough but I think we'll be ok (relatively speaking).

By the way. Week 1 is historically a bad gauge of how teams will finish the year. I don't understand the doom and gloom over losing the first game of the season by a single touchdown on the road. People are acting like we got lit up by the Lions for 30+.

You're talking to the same people that poo-poo'd 10 years with 1 playoff win as being totally acceptable.

So, if you're looking for rationale... you're looking in the wrong place.
