View Full Version : Brandon Lloyd: Playmaker

A definite positive about this game (outside of how sharp Orton looked prior to those last two passes), Brandon Lloyd showed why he deserves to be on this team today. What a stud out there.

5 receptions, 117 yards. 23.4 avg.

That's a great first game as a Bronco. Here's to many more!

Eh, the way our defense was playing down the stretch Im not entirely sold that would have forced overtime anyway.

But Lloyd, and Royal were pretty awesome today.

Orton looked great until that pick. He had Gaff wide open down the sideline that would have went for a TD too.

*sigh* Its hard to win on the road when you give up 24 points in the NFL though.

Yes, good for him. Actually I think the entire WR crew will only get better along with Orton and the young OL. I really believe the offense will be the strength of the team by mid-season.

Now the defense... that is another matter.

Seriously Rev, Orton played pretty effing good today man. I dont know how you cant say that. He was taking shots down field, showed great pocket presence, and was on target to everyone.

We started on our own FOUR yard line and Orton moved us into a position to score and Buckball fumbled it away.

He scored in less than 40 seconds to end the half.

I dont understand why you are embarrassed by Orton at all.

Oh really?

3 passes downfield. 1 should've been picked SO hard it and one of the worst throws I've ever seen and I don't think any were over 25 yards.

Way to stretch that D

It was more of the same from this **** stick.

And terrible coaching decision trotting out Tebow to run the football. Everyone knew he was going to ****ing run. They had public news interviews that they were preparing for him to run it in wildcat formations. That's when you drop back and let it rip.

Jesus christ, I had to cover my daughters eyes multiple times and apologize.

This was beyond embarrassing. The heat wasn't even a factor. It was nice and cool ALL second half and we got flat out physical'ed by a TERRIBLE football team. I mean ****ing terrible.

I thought Orton played well...although he closed it out piss poorly and we do need to get more than 2TD's in a game. But, overall he looked good.

I think McD needs to do a better job play calling. He needs to let Kyle throw the rock down the field more often, which will only open up the running game.

But, Orton did a pretty good job overall.

21/33 with a 8.9 YPA means nothing either, right? Driving the ball down for a TD in under 50 seconds is nothing, right? That TD pass to Gaffney was a thing of beauty. Quite obviously, like I said, you weren't built to watch games live.

He had some nice catches, but that been his history in the league. To be elite playmaker you have to be a guy league DCs game plan for and still aren't stop. That ain't Lloyd. He our current version of Tony Scheffler, a nice player that can make plays The only real play maker we have the offense is Royal and he still struggle at times when facing the #1 corner.

Why are they so terrible? They won only one game less than we did last year, and the heat clearly was a factor, at least at the start of the 2nd half. Seriously, this was not that bad a game against an improving team playing their home opener and with all the guys we have hurt or missing from the game? I said in another thread that that was exactly what people said about the Bengals last year. A game we needed a miracle pass to win. The Jags have some holes for sure, but thier strengths are the running game and defending the run. Their pass rush sucked last year, but maybe they fixed that, or our OL sucks worse, one of the two.

Either way, if we could run the ball and stop the run in this game, we win. But we didn't.
