Yep...I remembered that as well...and it was against the Giants and the first Broncos loss that season I believe...I remember Ed saying in an interview...how he wokeup and it didn't matter...not his leg, not the game...he couldn't believe it. Or something to that affect.

I was at that game on 9/10. I went to bed thinking the world had ended because Ed broke his leg.

I woke up on 9/11 thinking that the world had ended because Ed broke his leg. My satellite was out and we don't normally listen to radio in the morning.

I got into my car to drive to work thinking the world had ended because Ed broke his leg.

I turned on my radio.

I forgot all about Ed's leg.

I have some mixed feelings about some of the 9/11 films and documentaries that have come out in the last decade. One that really impressed me, though, is "102 Minutes That Changed America" from the History Channel.

It's a virtually real time document from multiple amateur cameras around the city that day. No interviews, no commentary from five years in the future looking back. Just raw footage that puts you right in the middle of the tragedy unfolding. A horrific and amazing piece of work that, for me, stands as the most notable project made about that day.

You know whats odd? I cannot remember any other MNF game involving Denver with that much detail. 9-10-01is burned in my memory, simply because on 9-11-01, I turned on ESPN to see one of the towers on fire, only to have the second tower struck.

National Geographic has been showing Inside 9/11 the last week. I watched it one night and just felt a crippling sadness. I wish I could say the program is good...but the material is just too much.

God Bless the USA!Well, Sept. 11th happens to be my Birthday.
I know exactly where I was that day. It totally bummed me out such a tragedy by those cowards forever changed the way I celebrate my b-day.

I remember getting up in the morning looking forward to my b-day since I was unemployed at the time (laid-off) and things weren't going right.
I turned the TV on while I'm getting my clothes on and ready to head out, when my jaw just dropped in disbelief.
Needless to say, I stayed home watching the whole thing.
Very sad event...

Nope. Two of my roomates at the time, who were from NY & NJ, woke me up and said I had to come check the TV just after the first tower collapsed. Even though I was still getting the sleep out of my eyes, I was smart enough not to spout my first thought that NY and the Pentagon got their "come up ins".
When one turned to me and asked "What do we do now?", I told her "Whenever someone takes a swing at you, make sure their unable or too afraid to try it again." Too bad America failed its citizens, first by insighting such an attack and than in the aimless response.

In a thread remembering the murdered? Its called tact. You clearly lack it. Note I am not saying you cannot have your ridiculous opinion on the topic, and offered a debate outside of the thread. It is irresponsible to continue this argument in this thread, so 1. PM me if you want to discuss it, 2. start your own thread on the topic that you feel needs to be discussed EVERY time 9/11 is mentioned or 3 actually show tact and humility and let it go.

I was in a biology lab when a girl got a text from someone that said that a plane had flown into the first building.

I was the only one in the room with any sort of tech knowledge, so I pulled up the news on the prof's laptop and ran the news over the projector. We all saw the second plane hit and people immediately just began walking out of lab awestruck.

I went home and saw the plane fly into the Pentagon and then the extended coverage.

I'll never forget Bush's press conference at that school. He looked like he was fighting back tears.

Awful day.

I suppose you'd also suggest April, 19th (Waco and OKC) and 20th (Columbine) should be only about the lives lost, but forget what caused those lives to be taken. Grieving symptoms does nothing to stop the cause and its reoccurance.

It was definitely a bizarre morning. I was living on the west coast at the time and woke up late...i ignored about 6 phone calls (im originally from ny, all friends and family were there) before I finally woke up. I do, however, wish that people would stop saying "never forget" or "have you forgotten" We're not gonna forget it. Overtime its intensity will lessen (like pearl harbor), but its not gonna be forgotten...its a weird American trait to constantly bring this up.

God you are one dumb sob. First, you put opinions that should be in the WAR forum not here and 2nd, we were not at war when 9/11 happened. THese were civilians casulties at Ground Zero and Pennsylvania. In Pearl Harbor, we werent at war but that was an attack to start one on our military. You just signed up so I can only imagine what site booted you off last month.

I had a Dr's appt that morning, was not going into work till after. Saw the Tower on the news and thought the plane had engine trouble. Then saw the other plane fly in and hit the other one. I was in shock, there was no mistaking what was happening. And for some reason it didn't even register to me that people were on that plane. I went to my Dr. appt but never went to work. It was just too much. But the wonderful thing was that for several weeks afterward we were united as a nation. Everyone was a little kinder and we forgot our disagreements as other things seemed so unimportant. That was nice.

On a rememberance note, I am going to wear my USA baseball jersey to the Angels game on Saturday. I wear it on this day and 4th of July (and when the USA Team playing in the actual WORLD SERIES) only.
As for that date 9 years ago, my wife wakes me up when her alarm has the report of the first plane hitting the Tower. I sprang up out of bed and said, "That is no accident, that is an attack on us!" Turned the TV on then watched the 2nd one. My wife hates politics (or I guess much on current events- before I meet her) and didnt even know about the attack on the Towers in the 90s where about 8 people died. In fact, I think it hit most people without even knowing who Bin Laden or Al Queda were. Big time wake up call that lives to this day and I dont see it ever changing.

EDIT: I forgot that I was supposed to go to the Broncos game , but decided to sell the tickets and use the money to fly to another game in Seattle or Phoenix (cant remember). Thank God I didnt go or I would have been stuck in Denver.

Miss I.

Not it's not really. It's on all the channels here. I watched a thing last night on UK TV memoralizing various people who died in the towers, talking to family and friends and occasionally broadcasting some of the emergency call to 9-1-1 from the building and some people made to their family. One I cant' forget is a young man calling 9-1-1 saying he was in a restaurant filling with smoke and as the operator said please remain where you are we are on our way, he said, "Please hurry" He even said thank you. He was so calm. Talking to his parents you could just see that having something left of their son from that day meant something. Suffice it to say, last night I was a bit weepy. it's almost 10 years, but if feels like sometimes no time has gone by.

I remember the day, waking up, walking into the living room, where my brother was watching the tv. I was tired and about to go get ready to go to grad school when I saw the the first tower on fire and was asking my brother what was going on, the second plane hit. I think I went a bit numb. He said the towers had been hit and then we sat and watched news reports as more filtered in about the Pentagon. My other brother lived in NY at the time so we called him and he was okay. My friend Jenny got stuck on commuter train as services started getting shut down. It was awful and it makes me realize why I am proud to be American and proud to do the job I do.

As for other countries forgetting these things, trust me, not only do they remember 9/11 they continue with remebrances of WWII events and other things like Guy Fawke day (which as far as I can tell celebrates the execution of a guy that planned to blow up Parliament). So America is not the only country to memoralize these things. I think it's important, we remember our history so we don't repeat and we don't trivialize it.

A moment for those who passed and those who survived and those who continue to serve our country.

911 ... The story of that day shot by 2 film makers who was in N.Y. to do a documentary on a new fire fighter and ended up filming the whole day as if you was there. Just unimaginable ... They are on a call and the first plane goes right over their heads and into the tower , and it goes from filming a newbie recruit fighting to fit in to filming Americans fighting for each other...

If you never watched this you really need to because it's history untampered.

Here also is a archive that has every channel's coverage of 9/11 for the first 24 hours from the time it begins.

http://www.archive.org/details/sept_11_tv_archive
that site need to be protected because it's important to still be able to see the full story of that day ... at on point in the NBC coverage secs before the second plane hits , they are on the phone with a lady in a building near the wtc and you hear a loud noise that is a plane going by her window and hitting the 2nd tower seconds later and them all figuring out what they just heard and it's just heart stopping ...

But that archive is very important.

I don't know that it's weird. It was an attack within our country, that is rare. So many people died in such a horrific way. It is something that affected us all. When something so incomprehensible happens it's not something you will ever forget. In this instance when people say never forget, it's a matter of what was done within our country to our people from an entity outside of our country. We were attacked. It's not because they think you will forget, it's a matter of let's not let our guard down again. You never forget where you were or what you felt.

Much like Kennedy getting killed. The feelings were much like 9/11 with the TV's all consumed with the event. We still memorialize the day in some way. But we don't say never forget because this was not an attack from outside the country on a lot of people. Other countries do the same thing.

For those that are interested, they are showing the actual media coverage at the same time as 9 years ago at this time on MSNBC.

Being from Jersey (and about 20 minutes away from the city itself), this day really hits home for me.

I remember being in my 8th grade, 2nd period math class and my teacher turning on the TV. We watched the towers fall live.

All day and night there were military jets flying overhead.

You could see the smoke from my town for days.

I really don't have much of a 9/11 story. I had taken the day off because the Broncos were on MNF the night before, so I woke up late (late for me at the time anyways).

I got up, turned on the TV and the North tower was on fire....saw the second plane hit and then I stayed in front of the TV for the rest of the day.

If it was not for the zealots embracing the Korans evil message towards humanity, to the point of thinking that if they execute the evilby taking themselves out, along with as many other people as possible, they will be taken to paradise where 69 virgins will be waiting at their beckoning call.

Seeing the religion of Islam exploiting the Awesome-Fear-of-God in such a way as to turn man into an instrument of hate towards his neighbor, rather than bring humanity into submission to love towards their neighbor and God, is clearly an abomination of desolation’s.

Seeing our efforts to fight the evil having done nothing than making our troops the pawns of this evil, considering all that we managed to accomplish in Iraq was hand over the second largest oil preserve in the world to the world of Islam, is mind blowing.

Seeing our efforts in Afghanistan bring the rogue tribes into submission to the powers that be in the Muslim world in order that it can cash in on the lithium bank which is the next oil, is mind blowing.

World War III, the war on the Evils of Islamic Terrorists has been nothing more than a one world order rouge to disguise the actual intent of their agenda.

The war on Islamic terror has now been polarized to the point where now even the state run media has taken an apologist tack towards Islam in demonizing the opponents of the Koran as Islamophic terrorist.

This while we see the helm of our ship in the form of homeland security
taking the crosshairs of threat off of the Islamic terrorists and aliens and placing the crosshairs on Christians, conservatives and veterans, and even Governors who dare to protect their boarders by enforcing the law.

There is a reason why the will of the people is being ignored, our president clearly believes that he is the leader of the world rather than a leader of Americans.

As a matter of fact he has taken his appology tour to the next level seeking the UN for help in dealing with his American constituency...

EDITORIAL: Obama administration indicts America

State Department reports on U.S. human right violations to the UN

WASHINGTON TIMES (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/aug/25/obama-administration-indicts-america/)

It describes how the United States discriminates against the disabled, homosexuals, women, Native Americans, blacks, Hispanics and those who don't speak English. There is the expected pandering to Muslims, noting that the government is committed to "challenge misperceptions and discriminatory stereotypes, to prevent acts of vandalism and to combat hate crimes," offenses that the American people evidently keep committing. And the current economic woes are blamed on the housing crisis, which itself was the result of "discriminatory lending practices." The implication is that if Americans had only been less racist, they would be enjoying prosperity today.

“Muslims are the vilest of animals…”

“Show mercy to one another, but be ruthless to Muslims”

“How perverse are Muslims!”

“Strike off the heads of Muslims, as well as their fingertips”

“Fight those Muslims who are near to you”

“Muslim mischief makers should be murdered or crucified” (http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=93640)

Well, if you haven’t guessed it already, these are quotes from the Qur’an in which we've replaced the word ‘Christian’, ‘Jew’ or ‘unbeliever’ with the word ‘Muslim.’

These verses come from five different places in the Qur’an. There are dozens of others scattered throughout that advocate violence in open-ended fashion. There are hundreds more that speak of hatred and hell toward Christians, Jews, and other non-believers...

I remember going to the opening game at the new dump and watching Eddie being carted off the field after what was his last NFL play. I thought things were bad in BroncoLand only to be stunned by the live reports from NY as I prepared to head to the office. I had several meeting scheduled so I packed up one of the TV's and watched the updates throughout the day.
I wanted to re-join the service that day to find and kill the people responsible. I was so f-ing pissed off that these spineless ****s were able to attack and subsequently kill thousands of non-combative people.

If you want to attack someone, you should have the balls to attack their military, not innocent ciivilians.

"Have You Forgotten"...September 11, 2001

Well, that pegs the old Whacko-meter.

Americans need to wake up from gullible take of Islam being anything but a barberic virus aiming to destroy humanity, and send man headlong back into the dark ages.

Well when we are in a leadership in this world emerges in any discussion, what else do you expect from the pegs of the wacko meter to do?

Now that we know who the department of home land security considers terrorists, let's take a look at how our government plans to deal with them with an already established classified governing body in place to create a new bill of rights once the brown stuff hits the twirly thing...

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KaztexKNf_o?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KaztexKNf_o?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

When you hear classified mentioned 18 times in a two minute's discussion of allusions to 13 classified events, of course this leaves the imagination left to itself to fill in the blanks.

The Declaration of Independance is the first place I go to fill in those blanks, especially when I hear how our governing body is aiming to replace our Bill of Rights with a classified governing bodies new bill of rights on the onset of said classified events.

In the end this is truly about a conflict of authority to the point where the current authority of the people is being flushed so that a new form of authority can reside in its place, an authority that is designed to govern our thoughts and actions...

Fact remains that I don't trust this current government. There is a reason why Bush and Obama have been attempting to spend this nation into bankrupcy and collapse, they already have another government set up to take over the place of the current one run by the people, or rather politicians sold out to the agenda of the one world order to dissolve the order of this one.

Now to see representatives of this governemnt who have given the entire world about 13 trillion reasons not to trust them, handing over authority of our bill of rights to a classified governing body, makes the pegs of the old Whacko-meter go insanely off the charts.

Mark...maybe you haven't noticed, but this thread wasn't intended to degenerate into a tin foil hat discussion. It's purpose was simply...to remember 9/11 and honor fallen Americans. If you start playing your ordinary games here, not only will this thread be moved to WRP, but you'll also be on a vacation for awhile.

You can spout your beliefs all your like in the WRP, that's your right, but that's not the purpose of this thread.

about the Nanothermite found in the WTC dust...

Last winter I debated 9/11 on the OM with a so called "real expert" from the RANDI forum. The guy's name is Tom something. He is a mechanical engineer and he claimed that the traces -- tiny red chips -- of nanothermite found by an independent team of scientists (led by Dr Steven Jones) in the WTC dust was nothing more than red primer paint from the WTC steel.

I'm here to announce that Tom's claim has been conclusively refuted. As it happens, not all of the WTC steel went to China. A few columns were saved -- and became part of a sculpture commemorating 9/11. Well, the artist who did the sculpture is a 9/11 truth activist. When he heard about the controversy over the traces of high temperature explosive found in the WTC dust he scraped off a sample of the red paint from the steel sculpture and sent it to Dr Steven Jones for analysis.

With the blessing of Brigham Young University, Jones analyzed the WTC paint in the BYU physics lab and found it to be a different substance from the chips found in the dust.

This proves that the red chips found in the WTC dust are not paint.

In fact, the chemical structure of the red chips found in the dust is identical to nanothermite -- which was developed right here in the US of A by the Los Alamos National Lab.

Here's a link to scientific paper by the independent team about their discovery. It's a free download.
http://www.bentham-open.org/pages/content.php?TOCPJ/2009/00000002/00000001/7TOCPJ.SGM

Another investigator, Kevin Ryan, has also shown that scientists from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) were also involved in the development of Nanothermite. No wonder that NIST refused to look for residues of high temperature explosives in their official study of the WTC collapse! They knew they would find it if they looked. So better not to go there.

The NIST Report was another neutered (as in sham) investigation comparable to the Warren Commission Report of an earlier time. The more things change -- the more they stay the same.

Here's a link where you can acquire a copy of Dr Jones' video lecture, Science and Society, in which he presents the latest evidence about the WTC dust, including the controversy over the paint. It's a bargain at $20.

This should be required watching for every American -- but 99% probably don't even know it exists.

I see no where in the title of this thread that we have to subjigate our takes to being propagandized to some sort of solemnity only method or be subjigated to being hounded by the communist thought police from hell. Where is a curb when you need one. :redpunch:>:'(

Everyone has their own way of dealing with a tragic crisis and the memory of the tragedy that occured September 11, 2001 is no different.

I am so sick of seeing one communist red flag after another being raised towards individuals freedom of expression, when so many Americans have died so Americans like me can possess it when addressing the horror and the ramifications of the billions spent supposedly fighting the Evil while simultaniously embracing it as an agent of peace.

What happened on 911 was an attack on liberty and seeing the politically correct thought police out in full force trying to subjigate the masses with their communist red flags is a disgrace.

To you I say, have you forgotten or have you replaced your red white and blue flags of liberty and freedom with the communist red flag of having your thoughts and actions policed?

Am I the Only Person in the World Who Remembers That the World Trade Center Was a Work of Islamic Architecture?

August 20, 2010
Laurie Kerr:

The Mosque to Commerce:Bin Laden's special complaint with the World Trade Center: We all know the basic reasons why Osama Bin Laden chose to attack the World Trade Center, out of all the buildings in New York. Its towers were the two tallest in the city, synonymous with its skyline. They were richly stocked with potential victims. And as the complex's name declared, it was designed to be a center of American and global commerce. But Bin Laden may have had another, more personal motivation. The World Trade Center's architect, Minoru Yamasaki, was a favorite designer of the Binladin family's patrons—the Saudi royal family—and a leading practitioner of an architectural style that merged modernism with Islamic influences.

The story starts in the late 1950s, when Yamasaki, a second-generation Japanese-American, won the commission to design the King Fahd Dhahran Air Terminal in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. His design had a rectilinear, modular plan with pointed arches, interweaving tracery of prefabricated concrete, and even a minaret of a flight tower. In other words, it was an impressive melding of modern technology and traditional Islamic form. The Saudis admired it so much that they put a picture of it on one of their banknotes.

For Yamasaki, an architect with a keen mathematical mind and a taste for ornamental pattern-work, this brush with the intricate geometries of Islamic architecture was inspiring, and he began to incorporate arabesques and arches into his work. For the next 12 to 15 years he played with Islamic forms in projects as diverse as the Federal Science Pavilion at the Seattle World's Fair, the Eastern Airlines Terminal at Logan Airport, and even the North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe, Ill.

Yamasaki received the World Trade Center commission the year after the Dhahran Airport was completed. Yamasaki described its plaza as "a mecca, a great relief from the narrow streets and sidewalks of the surrounding Wall Street area." True to his word, Yamasaki replicated the plan of Mecca's courtyard by creating a vast delineated square, isolated from the city's bustle by low colonnaded structures and capped by two enormous, perfectly square towers—minarets, really. Yamasaki's courtyard mimicked Mecca's assemblage of holy sites—the Qa'ba (a cube) containing the sacred stone, what some believe is the burial site of Hagar and Ishmael, and the holy spring—by including several sculptural features, including a fountain, and he anchored the composition in a radial circular pattern, similar to Mecca's.

At the base of the towers, Yamasaki used implied pointed arches—derived from the characteristically pointed arches of Islam—as a transition between the wide column spacing below and the dense structural mesh above. (Europe imported pointed arches from Islam during the Middle Ages, and so non-Muslims have come to think of them as innovations of the Gothic period.) Above soared the pure geometry of the towers, swathed in a shimmering skin, which doubled as a structural web—a giant truss. Here Yamasaki was following the Islamic tradition of wrapping a powerful geometric form in a dense filigree, as in the inlaid marble pattern work of the Taj Mahal or the ornate carvings of the courtyard and domes of the Alhambra.

The shimmering filigree is the mark of the holy. According to Oleg Grabar, the great American scholar of Islamic art and architecture, the dense filigree of complex geometries alludes to a higher spiritual reality in Islam, and the shimmering quality of Islamic patterning relates to the veil that wraps the Qa'ba at Mecca. After the attack, Grabar spoke of how these towers related to the architecture of Islam, where "the entire surface is meaningful" and "every part is both construction and ornament." A number of designers from the Middle East agreed, describing the entire façade as a giant "mashrabiya," the tracery that fills the windows of mosques.

In the early '70s, as the trade towers were nearing completion, Saudi Arabia was awash in oil revenues, and the state embarked on a massive modernization and building campaign. Yamasaki was premier among the many foreign architects hired during this period. Unwilling to take on too much work, Yamasaki decided to accept just three choice projects in Saudi Arabia: the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency head office, the Eastern Province International Airport, and the King Fahd Royal Reception Pavilion at Jeddah Airport. In all three projects he continued his explorations in melding traditional Islamic form with modern materials, methods, and functions.

As a scion of the Binladin contracting firm, destined to inherit some portion of its vast operations, Osama Bin Laden would certainly have been aware of Yamasaki's Saudi Arabian projects. Indeed, his family may have built them. (Minoru Yamasaki Associates won't say, but the Binladens were involved with almost all royal construction.) While Osama was in college in the mid-'70s, Yamasaki was designing his second generation of Saudi work, and the World Trade Center—then the tallest building in the world times two—came to completion in New York. This period was the high-water mark both for Yamasaki's world reputation and for the Saudis' national construction plan—which in Saudi Arabia must have brought a heightened sense of importance to the World Trade Center.

Having rejected modernism and the Saudi royal family, it's no surprise that Bin Laden would turn against Yamasaki's work in particular. He must have seen how Yamasaki had clothed the World Trade Center, a monument of Western capitalism, in the raiment of Islamic spirituality. Such mixing of the sacred and the profane is old hat to us—after all, Cass Gilbert's classic Woolworth Building, dubbed the Cathedral to Commerce, is decked out in extravagant Gothic regalia. But to someone who wants to purify Islam from commercialism, Yamasaki's implicit Mosque to Commerce would be anathema. To Bin Laden, the World Trade Center was probably not only an international landmark but also a false idol.

http://delong.typepad.com/sdj/2010/08/am-i-the-only-person-in-the-world-who-remembers-that-the-world-trade-center-was-a-work-of-islamic-ar.html

It's clear Sassy swallows the official version of events of that terrible day. Some of us do not. We know better.

I will shortly post some links for thinking people. There are still a few of us around.

This is not spam. What would a thread be without a dissenting voice? There is nothing more patriotic than dissent. One of these days -- I will be vindicated.

MHG

Excuse me?
Fact: There was a terrorist attack in NYC and Pennsylvania.
Fact: Almost 3,000 people DIED.
Fact: This is a tribute thread. Not a political or religious thread.

Fact: You need to get over yourself!

"Jesus".....just like Gaff, you were also warned not to politicize this thread (in the opposite direction). What goes for one, goes for another. This thread was designed by Sassy to simply remember 9/11 and honor the fallen, not to turn into an attack on one group or another or smear some, as you have, as "communists", or continue to turn the thread into an attack on Muslims. You are just as bad as Gaff. See you in two weeks, too.

Dude, we've waited 2,000 years for him, now we need to wait another 2 weeks? Lame.

Yes, just a sad day and that photo really hurts to look at.

I'm really sorry for the familys of the victims that died.

Including these, or just Americans?

Just Americans. Mass murderers deserve no pity or quarter.

The moment that it really sat in with me just how serious that situation was is when I saw people falling down the side of the tower one at a time and the news broadcasters didnt even notice it until they caught one a little later.

Shocking.

Jumping, not falling.

:Broncos:

Yep.

And the news broadcasters I was watching didnt really have the whole scene figured out yet, and then there are these folks sporadically falling through the debris and smoke. These little specks.

Boomhauer, I'm going to assume you didn't see the warnings given to Gaff and "Jesus", so you will get the benefit of notice. This thread isn't designed to argue over the "causes" of 9/11 or political matters, its just for rememberance. Please respect that. If you would like to discuss the political aspects of 9/11, you are free to give your views, no matter what they are....in the WRP, not here. You've been given a warning.

Come on bro....same rules apply. Let's not single a whole group of people out or paint with a broad brush. I know its your B-Day, but let's respect the purpose of this thread. Please do not get the political stuff into this thread. Everyone gets a warning, but only one.

I was getting ready for class (had 1st period off) at the US Naval Academy my sophomore year. One of my roommates came in from first period (which had been canceled) and told me to turn on the news, where I kept seeing replays of the first plane and live footage. I remember thinking that this must be some horrible accident. Then I saw the second plane hit, and all doubt was removed. This was a direct attack on the US. The Academy went nuts, lock-down for several days. We couldn't even call our folks until much later in the day. A list later (several weeks) came out that we (the Naval Academy) were a target on the terrorists' list of alternates. Our life at the Academy was completely changed from pre to post 9/11. It really focused those 4 classes that were in attendance at the time. We went from a nation at peace to a nation at war in about 30 minutes.

Socal..They are evil..They don't have religious tolerance.
I interacted with many of them. Each family will have 6-7 kids and their aim is to convert the entire world to Islam.

I realize that in part you are responding to my comment rather than purely throwing that in out of the blue....let's just say we disagree on that. Again, that's not the purpose of this thread, anyway. The purpose has been made clear. Why can't you guys just respect what Sassy intended this to be? You probably should get a timeout, however, as I noted above, your comment was sort of in response to mine, so you'll get a warning, but again, I'm getting tired of giving warnings to every single person.

PLEASE RESPECT THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD.

If anyone wants to read a good novel set surrounding the events of 9/11, as a work of fiction these are two excellent ones.

Not about the events, but the human effect. Both beautiful.

The preceding post was brought to you by Amazon.com and the Author's Guild, your information ministers. Why go to the library for free when you can buy five books, all saying the same thing, from us at retail prices?

Technically any public service is not free. Somebody is paying for it. And what's it to you if someone wants to buy a book from Amazon rather then read .org websites with slanted political views? How about you simmer down and just go with the flow.

You can always return to being an a hole tomorrow.
