CBS
#5 Chargers.... They will have an easy time in their division. The tough part for Norv Turner is turning talent into a title.
#17 Raiders.... Don't laugh. I meant what I said. I think this team is much improved. They will push for a playoff berth. Really.
#24 Broncos.... They've had a lot of big injuries this summer -- see Elvis Dumervil -- and those are hard to overcome for a team that can't afford them. Where do they get the big plays on offense?
#27 Chiefs.... I just don't see why some think this is a team that will make a big move forward. They have way too many issues. Plus, Matt Cassel has to show me more.

ESPN
#8 Chargers.... Philip Rivers is missing in too many young stud QB conversations.
#22 Broncos.... It won't go over well if the Raiders pass the Broncos in the AFC West standings.
#24 Raiders.... Against the Titans' Chris Johnson, the Raiders' run defense gets its biggest possible challenge in Week 1.
#27 Chiefs.... The Chiefs were picked by ESPN The Magazine as division winners.

Lol, these are always fun. Don Banks at SI has predicted Oakland gets a wildcard spot. What's Michael Bush's status? They won't make it past KC without him.

*edit* Internets thinks he could play week 1, intriguing.

Surprised we're that high actually, with huge question marks on both lines, RB, LB, and to a smaller extent WR and TE. Not to mention the biggest question of all, the head coach.

You're right. In fact, things are so bleak, I'm also surprised the franchise hasn't been demoted to UFL status by now.

What's Michael Bush's status? *edit* Internets thinks he could play week 1, intriguing.

No way he'll play in week 1. He's got a Bennet's fracture of the base of the thumb (I'm an X-ray tech). The probability of re-injury is too high if he comes back too soon... announcing that he'll play in week 1 is probably a smokescreen to trick Tennessee into game-planning for a guy that won't be there. Sometimes patients never regain full use of the hand after a Bennet's. Only way Bush will play in the next few weeks is if he always carries the ball in his injured hand & breaks his fall with the good hand. A big guy like that putting a recently-healed Bennet's fracture down to break his fall? Recipe for disaster.

Never understood these meaningless rankings.

It's the NFL...Only one bowl game to play for.

Its a way to generate debate. I've never understood the hatred that is developed for said news organization for ranking a team low. Relax.

These national opinions are always fueled by perceived super stars. Like it or not Denver's two nationally recognized players are gone this year (Marshall, Dumervil).

Now, we all know you win with more than that. Nothing to get your panties in a wad over, though (not directed at the above poster, just a general comment).

Kind of makes you think we're headed for another 8-8 season...doesn't it?

um, no. kinda makes me think espn is full of rehashed crap. fact is, they don't know what to think of the afcw and their predictions are just watered down enough to pass the "I told you so" test no matter what. pathetic my friend.

I'd rather be ranked low.
