Bucs vs Phins

SLOP Fest!!! Pooring rain and they're on the Marlins infield right now. Ronnie Brown looking decent so far. Nothing going toward BMarsh yet. If I were either of these teams I'd have some serious reservations about playing the starters too long!

That field is disgusting. Looks about as bad as a Pittsburgh Steeler game. And yeah, I agree; I don't think I'd play the starters more than a series or two.

What is with all of these coaches losing so much weight? Wade Phillips lost 55 lbs, now they show Tony Sporano and he's lost 50. Looked like the Falcons' Mike Smith had lost a lot of weight too.

Yea as someone living in Cincinnati but a life long broncs fan , and knowing about the karma in cincy we better not play Orton much and see lots o Tebow.

With the crappy karma in Paul brown stadium you can be walking off the field after a play and hang a spike and blow a acl and miss 10 weeks.

Bears 3 and out Chuggers on first drive. Shuts down Phyliss. Cutler is looking good. He completes a 35 yard pass to Knox on first pass play. Converts 3 and 6 with nice pass to Knox again. Gets sacked on 2nd down. Settles for FG.

You have to balance the risk of getting them injured with getting them in in the groove of playing. Throwing your starters into the first regular season game with little to no playing time in the preseason is asking for a disastrous first game IMO.

The sloppy conditions played a part on the first one he dropped and it was a tad behind him... a catchable ball so a drop, but not one that I'd take issue with. The second one however was a bad drop. Henne threw a dart 15-20 yards and he was open by a couple yards. The ball went through his hands and hit him in the middle of the 9 on his jersey. Couldn't have been a better delivery if he ran up there and handed him the ball. Looked like he was ready to make a move into the open field before securing the ball. I wish he would have caught it b/c BMarsh is fun to watch in the open field. 6'4 and the wiggle of a 5'10 guy but the strength of a 250 lb guy. BMarsh is special, gonna miss watching him play.

They will be. Neither will be as "electrifying" as BMarsh, but I think the team will be able to replace his production with multiple players. And honestly I think we'll be better as a whole b/c of that. I really hope to have DT healthy soon. He is key for making our offense go. With his downfield/vertical potential it will help make guys like Lloyd, Gaffney, and Royal much more effective on the high percentage plays. It will also help to keep the safeties back and allow Knowhson and Buck more room to run.

I don't think he's the same type of threat as DT. DT seems to have a skillset similar to that of Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, Andre Johnson, or Larry Fitzgerald. He can stretch the field and make those big plays and he gets the ball in traffic. Lot of hope in that kid!

Yeah. Williams was double teamed and kind of let up after he made his initial move on the primary defender. Whitehurst threw to where Williams would have been if he hadn't shut it down and the second D-back was there for the pick.

Yeah, that one hurt to watch, After all that kid went through last year (the weight-room accident at USC) with major throat surgery. Comes in as an undrafted free agent and was doing great (looked very good up to that point of the game). That replay of the ankle was rough to watch. I don't remember many times seeing the trainers putting a player in a full air-cast before moving him. Not good. Kudos to the Titans players and coaching staff for the way they all gathered around him and were trying to be supportive. Kudos to the Seattle fans for the ovation they gave him during his exit. Kudos as well (much as it pains me to say it as I am most decidedly NOT a fan of his) to Pete Carroll for being one of the first people to show up (from the opposite sideline, no less) to check on and support one of his former players. What a shame for Stephon. Hope he will be OK.

Did you see the first one? Not sure how you can say that was an easy one? The ball was snapped from a puddle, the coverage was tight, and the pass went to his back hip. It was a catchable ball, but no way would I call it easy. The second one though... in spite of the elements it was an easy one and a bad drop!

Sam Bradford looked decent in the Rams game.

He is possibly the least-hyped and most underexposed #1 pick I have seen in my lifetime. That will work out to be very beneficial for him in the short and long run.

I think that the Rams will take it slow with him simply because they pretty much do not have an offensive line. As we saw last night, whoever plays QB at Saint Louis will be at risk until that line is shored up. I would expect Bradford to take over the starting position half way through the season. I think it was their right tackle that got burned on three consecutive plays last night and got Bradford sacked twice after the guy got up and blocked Bradford's throw on the first pass.

He looks like a solid prospect. He's already making good reads and showing the type of accurate delivery that he had in college. He's big...he's tall and has filled out his frame. He's definitely a Manning/Brady type of QB and if he pans out the Rams will be competitive for a decade.

I agree too... they better start making some significant improvements along that OL though. Alex Baron not working out really set them back as well as guys like Long and Carriker, though I guess it's a little early to be down on Long.

Their best bet may be to trade Steven Jackson for either some draft picks (2nd, 3rd and 4th) and play ball with guys like Westbrook and whoever else they can pick up after the cuts. Jackson's window of being super productive probably only has another two maybe three years in it. He is already starting to break down. A team that sees themselves as a stud RB away from the SB would be very smart to trade for him. I think a team like the Packers with Grant being injured would make a deal like that. You add Steven Jackson to that team and they're in the same conversation as the Cowboys, Saints, and Vikes in terms of who has the best chance of representing the NFC in Dallas.
