that's the Orioles beating the Rays last night wearing 1971 throwback uniforms.

reminds me of the days when the Broncos embraced the orange in their uniform... wish Bowlen would relent and let the team wear the old blue D helmets with orange jerseys as a throwback uniform more often.

Bowlen's too gutless and too drunk to let that happen.

It'd be sweet though.

Those 1970's MLB uniforms are so gaudy, they're great.

Question is, what is that the Rays are wearing? ???

i think the Rays were wearing the uniform of the 1971 St. Petersburg Cardinals minor league team.

BTW, back in 1971, the O's had four 20-game winners on their staff. here they are in the original 1971 uniform.

Ah, makes sense then. It must've been the week for the 70's retros as I know the Pirates wore the full yellow unis with the box hat in SD a couple of nights ago.

So when are the White Sox going to wear the worst Unis in any pro sport, the ones with the collar and shorts?

They're better off wearing the "Dick Allen's" The red & white was it?

At least we will see the Orange alternates 3 times this year. Pre-season against Detroit, Regular season against the Jets and again against the Chiefs.

I do hope to see the Old D and orange Jersey some time soon.

Dick Allen is one of my cousin's favorite all time players. Who knows what Bill Veck was thinking when he bought those things, the 80's ones were ugly in their own 80's way but that was a winning ugly time.

I don't care what they wear, i'm more concerned with the guys wearing them, and whether or not they win games.

Don't feel bad, Ron. I've had the same problem since the server move.

On topic, I sure do miss the old Orange color that the Broncos sported back when Floyd was playing.

I was a fan of the blue uniforms back when they were introduced but I have to admit, I've been getting more nostalgic and really hoping the team would switch back to the orange. The alternates they wear are really slick and bring a modern look to the old style. I agree that the old orange uniforms were dated and needed a face lift but looking back, the switch to blue might have been overkill.

The uniform Champ is sporting is just flat out great looking. The classic orange with the darker blue is perfect. Add in the new, sleeker logo with the swoosh designs and we have a winner.

C'mon Bowlen, let's get back to our roots.

Why the hell would the Broncos wear the orange unis at KC on Dec 5?

The current logo sucks, period. Yeah I know they won super bowls wearing them and all that noise, that still doesn't change the fact that they've always looked like Arena league rejects.

That's why I buy nothing but the retro logos now, the two personalized jerseys I have and a hood is all I have left that's featuring the current logo.

I like the new logo. Liked it since day 1. But I wish we'd make the orange our permanent home jersey. The worst? Blue jersey on blue pants. Ugh.

I agree the current, flaming lizard logo sucks, it's very "90's" the so called computer generated graphic that was so popular in the era when the Baltimore Ravens were being born and Bill Clinton was relevant. And the fact it was developed to eliminate the D so the team could be moved if a new stadium wasn't built is disgraceful.

THE NEW UNIS OWN !!!!! LEAVE EM ALONE ...

As a child Elway and Walter Payton was my 2 fav players ... And so happens WE as in the broncos pretty much stole our current unis from WALTER PAYTON's try at getting a team in St. Louis ...

There is a interview with Walter where he says did you see the Bronco's new helmets ? They stole those from us ...

But even the way the stripe on the top gets thinner as in gets to the front of the helmet is the same....

Here is a whole thread on the topic on some forum ...
http://boards.sportslogos.net/index.php?showtopic=69183

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis_Stallions
The St. Louis Stallions were a proposed National Football League expansion team to be located in St. Louis, Missouri St. Louis had lost the Cardinals franchise, which moved to Phoenix and became the Arizona Cardinals. The city entered the race to get a team for the 1995 NFL season.
The team would have played, at that time, in the newly-built Edward Jones Dome. The Stallions were believed to be a favorite to regain a new franchise, but in November 1993, the NFL chose the Jacksonville Jaguars over the Stallions as the new choice. St. Louis ended up losing their bid, but Los Angeles Rams owner Georgia Frontiere, a native of the St. Louis area, relocated the Rams to St. Louis that very season and incorporated part of the Stallions' proposed logo, an arch over the team's name in text, into the Rams logo.

The proposed Stallions name was also going to be the new name of the New England Patriots had the former owner and St. Louis native, James Busch Orthwein moved the Patriots to St. Louis in 1993. Orthwein was on the verge of doing so until Robert Kraft stepped in and bought the Patriots. The St. Louis Stallions uniform can be seen at the New England Patriots Hall of Fame in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

But I always loved the fact that as soon as we changed to those unis we got over the hump and that they was tied to Payton sorta ... I agree we need to wear the orange jerseys more tho.

Exactly Kip. Besides, Retro is the way of things now. The Jets & Chargers realized their mistakes in this area, I just wish Denver would as well.

I wish the alternates were our normal home jerseys and I wish our alternated were the all blue, those are my 2nd favorite. I like all of our jerseys but our alternate orange are the best IMO! Would be awesome to make them the standard home uni.

I like the new and the older ones.. And contrary to what someone said above I enjoy when they wear all blue and even get a kick out of it if the players are able to wear the sun shield on their helmets. Makes them look tough(er).

However, I am a huge fan of the orange. I wish they would wear the alt jerseys more often as well, but with an orange helmet to match.

I don't expect us to wear the old "D" uniforms very often (Bowlen has always hated them and made no secret of it) but I ABSOLUTELY hope to see us wear the Orange "alternate" jerseys with the new helmet.

Bottom line is IMHO the orange jerseys should CLEARLY be the primary jersey and the blue on blue or blue on white should be the alternate.
Not gonna happen but it should.

I'll settle for the orange jerseys a few games a year. Anyone know if we're wearing them this year? Here's to hoping.
