The Broncos canceled their Sunday afternoon practice, which had been scheduled to go from 1:15 to 3:15 at their Dove Valley complex.

The next opportunity for fans to view practice will be Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The team was not scheduled to practice on Monday.

----------

Seems like the injury bug has forced Coach McD to give players more time off.

Probably more a reward for a very good practice last night. They do need to tone it back a bit - both Decker and DT apparently had undiagnosed injuries this week and it was full contact for everyone but the QB's last night.

McD said from the beginning that he would push the players hard until it looked like they needed a break and then would give them a break. I think it is probably a combination of a good week of practice and the players being physically exhausted and in need of a couple days off.

There might have been a scheduled practice from the beginning, but I don't think McD ever had any intention of having practice today.

To be fair, players have a history of not wanting to report injuries as well. Injury time is time you are not advancing at the depth chart, and Decker and Thomas have a lot to prove. That being said, the team should have had structures in place to check in the middle of the week. Decker's production clearly slid with this injury and they should have been on top of it.

DJ Williams has not practiced in 5 days and I don't recall seeing him last night at Invesco. Something is going on there as well

I agree with this point. You have to know rookies are going to be the least inclinded to say anything and try to push through it.,

They dont know the ropes yet on the team and are trying to make a good first impression for everyone. Its up to the team, and trainers in particular, to be smart with two guys just coming off significant foot injuries within the last month and not press them. One a days at most and with a day or two off each week manditory until they can build up strength and stamina after a long while off the field makes sense to me.

So what if it takes them an extra month to get fully up to speed? Beats the hell out of a real setback that could possible jeprodize their careers or risk becoming a chronic issue.

Canceling practice is a fantastic idea. This injury bug thing is crazy. If we were living three thousand years ago, I think the front office would be sacrificing virgins in order to appease whatever deity was angry with us.....

Josh even mentioned that something was going on there in his presser last week...

Anyone have a stream to Arby's All Access in which Orton and McDaniels will be on tonight?

Can't believe that Greek canceled practice. He needs to go.

So after a week, here's my updated 53-man projection heading into week 2 of camp:

(3) QB: Orton, B.Quinn, Tebow (I don't necessarily think Quinn is a shoe-in, but he should make it)
(4) RB: Moreno, Buckhalter, Ball, Larsen (Could keep Hall too depending on injury status, Ball's been with 1st unit since K.Smith's release)
(7) WR: Lloyd, Gaffney, Royal, Stokley, Thomas, Decker, Willis (Willis has earned his roster spot and Stokley is safe)
(3) TE: Graham, R.Quinn, Branson (Branson hasn't impressed me but he gets a lot of work in 2 TE sets)
(9) OL: Batiste, Beadles, Walton, Kuper, Harris, Polumbus, Hochstein, S.Olsen, E.Olsen (Daniels or Duncan could make it too, E.Olsen might be P/S material)
(7) DL: Bannan, J.Williams, McBean, Green, Fields, Thomas, Baker (Kept Baker because staff was high on him, not sure of his status. L.Smith lurks too)
(8) LB: Ayers, D.Williams, Haggan, Moss, Kirlew, Woodyard, Ayodele, Mays (Griesen's workload has decreased and I could see Alexander making it)
(9) DB: Bailey, Goodman, Hill, Dawkins, Cox, Jones, McBath, Bruton, Smith (Seems pretty set to me)
(3) ST: Prater, Colquitt, Paxton (Lock it up)

P/S: Baker, Daniels, Duncan, Alexander, McCarthy, Thompson, Vaughn
PuP: Clady, Reid
Susp: White
IR: Dumervil, McKinley
