Back and forth game, Mike Bell had a huge day for the broncos. After the game Peyton Manning said what a great game day atmosphere Denver had - reminded him of his days at Tennessee.

But what I remember most is taking my 12 year old son to the game, who never showed the interest in the broncos and nfl like his Dad. Until this game. He looked at me in the 4th quarter as if to say "this is great!" and he's been hooked ever since.

Kansas City 24 Denver 22 at Arrowhead November 16, 1997.

Watched this one in a bar in Greenwich Village that was packed. Close game 14-13 Chiefs at half time. TD ran for about 125 yards. Stoyanavich won it at the last second.

No thanks. I'd rather do time at Gitmo. Bad, bad memories of that game.

There was a pretty epic game against the Dolphins 4 or 5 years ago. Both teams traded blows for the full 4 quarters until Miami finally prevailed...

No kidding. I don't rewatch any Bronco losses. Have never seen the SB losses against (except I do watch Elway throw that bomb to Nattiel, then I turn it). Most pain I think I've endured in my life, the losses. Even labor wasn't that bad.

Elway was absolutely unbelievable in both of those two games that year, against Montana. Both games were exhibitions in passing.........the game in Denver convinced me that John had the best arm that ever, and I mean ever, played the game......

The 2000 season opener against St. Louis was one of the very few times that I felt something other than pissed and/or angry after a loss. I remember being excited about the team after a barely losing at barnburner against the defending champs.

Another great game.

T-Buck took one to the house for the lead, and I think Al Wilson of all people had 2 picks.

Lot of promise following that game the D held the high powered St L. O to field goals

I think you may be referring to the 2002 opener rather than the 2000 opener, which was also against the Rams.

The 2000 Rams opener. Amazing offensive game. Was like watching Madden live.

It would be my first Broncos regular-season game...

Oct. 18, 1993
23-20 loss to the LA Raiders in Mile High Stadium on Monday night.

This was my high school graduation present (class of 94). Flew from West Palm Beach to Denver for the game. Broncos were down most of the game only to stage a comeback that was denied in the end by the Raiders.

Great memory...ruined by the Raiders. It's fueled my utter disdain for them over the years.

1979-we went 10-6, and faced the Oilers in the AFC Wild Card game-trailed 10-7 at Halftime, but Craig Morton drove us 80 Yards and threw a pass to Dave Preston for a Touchdown. Earl Campbell ran roughshod all over us, (although he was knocked out of the Game), and it was a fight, although the Oilers Defense kicked our butt all day long. An Interception of a Morton pass, and a Field Goal sealed the loss-13-7

That Elway vs Montana game was epic and what I remember from the top of my head was that 1) Elway spiked the ball with about two minutes left after he scored the go ahead TD with a run. 2) I was thinking, "****! Montana has a ton of time to beat our pathetic defense!" 3) I beleive we started 0-4 for the season and managed to have the chance as one or the only team to go 0-4 and then finish .500 or better (we lost the last game at home to the lowly Saints). 4) I was at Charlie Brown's restuarant by Angels Stadium watching it with 690AM Sports Radio with Chet and Steve. That game was awesome but hurts to this day.

Im glad you arent referring to the Griffin fumble that lost us the game (or was it the missed field goal---both?)!

After this game I did not speak a word to anyone for 42 hours or so. I was pissed.

I'm reconnected with a past relationship right now. I'm told that after the 96 loss I only responded to any query with monosyllabic grunts for 3 days.

That was a great game. If I remember correctly, the NFL had a policy of the last two SB winning teams playing each other for their opening game. Consequently the Broncos played the Rams in St. Louis.

Anyone know if this policy is still being followed?

Two things from that 94 KC still bother me all these years later.

In that game Elway got hit in the head 2 or 3 times late and blatant with no call, meanwhile Joe Pussy Montana was nicked once and they threw 15 against us.

And then at the end of the game, they showed Montana's wife jumping for joy with their kid, down on the Mile High field. Where was the sniper when we needed one?

Do you remember a game we were playing Dallas and were up by two TDs with about 8 minutes to go and Dallas came back and beat us. It might have been a Monday night game but not sure.
